- sopa de fideo is super nostalgic for me- it brings back all of my childhood memories. i remember being able to inhale 4 bowls in one sitting LOL it was fav! i mean it’s still a fav! it’s the best on a gloomy day or when you’re under the weather- nothing beats a good hot sopita de fideo! :) if you try out this recipe let me know your thoughts in the comment section below :) hope you enjoy!

2 tomatoes
1/4 onion
1 clove garlic
1 heaping tsp tomato bouillon
1 heaping tsp chicken bouillon
2 tbps oil
8 oz fideo (or any other short pasta)
6 - 8 cups of water
a few dashes dried marjoram
salt to taste

I grew up in a predominantly mexican and latino neighborhood, n my bsf next door gma made this a cpl times for us when we had sleepovers. I couldn't remember the name, but finally found it and I'm making it again to relive some memories since I've moved away 😭😭 i'll definitely update after I actually make it lol I'm already excited tho!!!

I made it today😊 it was great! I added slice onion, carrot and sauteed with the noodles at the very end, and added a corn and shrimp during the last 10 min of simmering. ❤

Marjoram is a nice touch. My mom would do oregano sometimes, but it's such a strong herb, that just a bit too much would ruin the whole taste. lol

Wow thank you for the recipe. This is amazing. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but when I do mine , mine has these little hard sticks. Is there any advice you can give me ?

i’m not sure what you mean by hard sticks. you mean like some of the noodles are still raw? if that’s the case i would say just let it simmer until all of the pasta is fully cooked through, it shouldn’t be that much longer though. 😊
Do you ever add a squeeze of lime juice? I'm definitely going to try this for the first time. Thanks for sharing. (I was raised in an English home so I've never eaten this soup before. It looks delicious!) 😊

Chop some potatoes and let them boil inside the soup and if you wanna make it better add ground beef. Swear down it’s leng leng!
