I am 51 yo female with left scapular pain, with what looks and feels like “winged scapular” and or “scapular dyskinesia”. (I am also a nurse). For many years, I have suffered bouts of pain in neck area, and horrendous pain on the dorsal scapular area. I could always feel a difference in the muscle/tendons appearing thin or weak compared to the right, unaffected side. I once had a slight bulge disk in neck on same side. With pain that comes and goes. It seems to get easily aggravated. When this happens it feels buzzing and tingling, also as if I have ice cold water dripping at the top of the dorsal scapula. My Mom said I fractured my clavicle at 3 years old, jumping on bed. Could this have caused my problems? In addition, Does the disruption as a fracture cause problems with the brachial plexus nerve, or does “winged scapula” cause the nerve problems? Or are the mutually exclusive? Also could you refer me to someone in Birmingham Alabama to help me, since I fear I am in category of bad prognosis? Thank you for the informative educational video. Jennifer T. Birmingham AL
@@lornakist I have received steroid injections to my entire upper back rhomboid area. Not much help. I have a SLAP tear in my right shoulder. Got a PRP Injection for that months ago. I tried chiropractors...PT. OT. Cupping. Acupuncture. Nothing has helped completely. It's been a whole year now. I feel like I've been seeing improvement with muscle scraping which some trainers are certified in. Theyve helped force alot of these muscle to relax like the pec minor...lats. so I have what's in this video or neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome.
After long studies that took me 6 months of analys of own body I finally found the cause of my shoulder dropped and freezed... no doctor noticed this on me... i had to found it myself... where the problem was... jesus
TH-cam to the rescue. Found this video in my recommended and yes after almost 3 years of dealing with numb arms and hands, pain between the shoulder blades and neck pain, numerous trips to doctors, massage therapist, and chiropractors I know what is going on. I will bring this up to my chiropractor and see what he has to say.
maybe strenght scalenes, levator scapular & rhomboids. why? because a weak muscles cause nerve entrapments, search the exercise writing "levator scapula msk neurology", that guy has a lot of artcles related. Also put your shoulders up bc maybe your clavicle is compresing the nerves of the brachials plexus. Good luck
The problem often comes from overdeveloped shoulder and upper back muscles which squeeze the nerve, causing extreme pain. On youtube you can find a number of ways of stretching the muscles running along beside the scapula. I too have the problem and all doctors and therapists have been useless. I am finding some of these stretches effective.
@@tomaurelius5164 overuse of a muscle can cause this pain , I’m going through it too , they state you have to strengthen the muscle but I’ve been doing exercises with slow progression. I’ve been looking up a lot on it. Have you gotten an MRI ? The pain is a real pain in the ass , you need to speak with a neurologist and have them do some injections on it cause that shit hurts like hell. I haven’t done it yet but there are articles on the injections to stop the pain
Nice video. Thank you

In France dsn entrapment is unknown so no..
So what do you do for this condition? I'm pretty sure I have it and I've gone to so many doctors already. What is the treatment to correct it?
Have you had any luck with anything? I'm in the same boat and got various treatments for 6 months now. Not much success yet. I'm freaking out.

@@robertgraham2433 why overdeveloped muscles will cause nerve entrapments?
if that's the case, bodybuilders must live with pain?
