One of the biggest 'what ifs' in NBA history. Most explosive center since Shaq imo, and even more shocking, he has a 3 point shot.

I've been saying for years he was Jokic before Jokic. Underrated passer with good footwork, he was more nimble than people remember, a weird mix of finesse and power where he didn't necessarily lean too much into either, it was mostly pretty balanced. I sigh thinking about what could have been had he been anywhere other than Sacramento (operating under the idea that he avoids injury).

@@itzfusionplex4266i wouldn’t go that far. but he was never going to be in the convo for all defense. The really bad part about that is it wasn’t from lack of fundamentals, IQ, or ability. It was lack of effort or caring on defense. His highlights are incredible. But you don’t see all the plays he took off in the high lights. And this is coming from a major Boogie Cousins stan. I’m a Kentucky fan so you know i’ve been a fan for a long time.
Watching his highlights though…you could say he was the most talented big to ever play. No one else had his combo of size, strength, mobility, and skill. But he never had it between the ears. Just to add context to Boogies injury in 2017 in New Orleans versus the Rockets and why it makes me hate the Rockets Harden Capela DAntoni and Alvin Gentry. The Pelicans were blowing them out from the get go but BOTH teams kept playing 8 seconds or less offense. Harden kept flopping. Midway thru the Fourth quarter of a game that had seemingly lasted 3 hours and had never been close, Cousins remained in the game as he wasn’t in foul trouble. Somebody on the Rockets chucked a brick and Capela at that moment chose to challenge Boogie for the rebound. It was clearly Boogies ball but he was exhausted and caught flat footed, he Pogo sticked on one leg which is how u tear the Achilles. If that game hadn’t been dragged out for Harden and Dantonis vanity, Gentry and Capelas Stupidity, Boogie would not have been hurt.

Boogie w/o injury’s and literally any other team he would be a top 10 center all time, if he stayed healthy on the kings most likely a top 15

Boogie was MVP in NO before he tore his Achilles. Averaged 40-20 over a few week stretch.

If he decides to remain in Denver (and is comfortable backing up Joker), he could have a good couple of years.

I liked Boogie a lot. He was the best center from he fall of Dwight till the rise of Jokic and Embiid. I just hated that AD treated him like a brother and he still left for the Warriors.

He tore his Achilles in a contract year. New Orleans wasn't going to resign him
