The sad part is, albeit many there are and how severe they are, the injuries didn't ruin his career, he is still capable of being a top NBA PG, his old school PG mentality his super tight handle and his above average muscle strength can really work with most teams who needed a floor general than a scorer (the lakers), like Jason Williams used to do for the heats, Wall is a usually called "true PG" just so happened borned with great leaps and speed, he can fall back on the PG part. For whatever reason the rockets feel like they had to sit him, it's just weird.
His injuries did ruin his career.. if his game was more modern with a jumper he could be a solid piece like how Rose transitioned his game but the injuries absolutely ruined his all star level play. He isn't capable of being a top PG after injuries. He's still a capable player and can be very productive in the right role. The biggest issue now is his super max contract. If he was on a more reasonable deal, he'd be sought after. The Rockets don't want to play him because he's not part of their future and they want their young guards to get minutes. Also, playing will likely only hurt his trade value. I think his best role would be as a playmaker for a team with off ball stars and good spacing. Or as an elite secondary ball handler off the bench. Ultimately, his weak shooting and offense off the ball would limit his minutes and fits around the league
I hear you but did you see his dunks from last year? Dude got up on a few of them. Honestly he still had some of the better dunks for a 6’3” guy. Plus dude clearly still has speed and a first step that’s crazy. There were guys who never played agaisnr him prior to the injury who were quoted as saying his first step is insanely fast after playing him last year. I’m not saying he was the same, but his demise is greatly overstated. Think of all of the stars who needed a full season or so to get back to their true selves, while Wall literally still hasn’t had that, and was able to post 24 points and 8 assists per game post Harden trade. People don’t realize that walls low efficiency was about the same as a lot of dudes so far this year who aren’t dealing with finding their footing again. Look at Tatum and Lillard and harden. I mean factually Wall made about 3 less shots per 100 last year than he did during his prime years, not that much of a change
If you actually break it all down the one thing that stopped his numbers from being truly elite last year compared to his all star years were the number of his potential assists that were converted and how poorly he shot on layups of all things compared to his prime. He said it himself in a lot of the pressers, he was just missing a ton of easy layups, which honestly is normal considering he hadn’t played in a couple years. He went from one of the better finishers for PGs over 60 percent at the rim to only like 54 percent. Almost everywhere else on the court he was the same. And ya his 3 ball was a little off compared to his prime. 32 percent instead of 34 percent but on more attempts which led to his higher true shooting.
@juwan harris sup Juwan. How goes it man? So yeah of course we can’t say for sure. Wall was DEFINITELY listed at 6’4” with shoes on, but idk if you heard the NBA did a crackdown on player heights a couple years back and everyone got officially measured and had to get their real heights listed. Both Stephan A Smith and DJ Ak normalized taking down on, creating false narratives and disrespectfully name calling our greats.
This actually affects these player’s contracts and can effect fan support/album sells. 🤔🤔🤔
I think he'd be good as a Laker. He still has a lot in the tank. People want to write him off thinking that he has nothing more to give but look at Melo. I'll rest my case.
John is my favorite player and I hate seeing his fall from grace
Caught that huge deal before a career ending injury. God is with him. He should pursue things of the Spirit and give glory to the Lord.
I love John Wall so very much he’s my favorite NBA Player, I really wanted the Rockets to trade him but he will likely decline his player option this offseason and I would like him & Predict that he will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers I think the Clippers would be a great & perfect fit for him & the Clippers need a point guard and John Wall would be the best player available at that position & John can play with Kawhi Leonard & Paul George and build a big 3 together and be one of the favorites to win the NBA championship next season but no matter where John Wall goes I really hope he wins a NBA championship and get a ring with any contender team.
I think he still has some good years left. He just has to get on the court. I love his game!
Well hopefully he can bounce back after his contract expires
I could see him being a starter on a playoff team, even if he can’t be the best player on a playoff team anymore
He’s still good, that injury ruined his career
At his peak I would have taken him as my starting PG over any one.
D. Rose, John Wall, and Westbrook three great slashing guards
I remember that adida asap rocky commercial with wall and dat boy jrue
Wait, can yall please explain? Wasn’t Blake drafted in 2009, 1st overall? John was 1st overall, drafted in 2010 right? Why did they say that blake won rookie of the year over wall?
Think blake was injured his "rookie year". But since he didn't play they count him as a rookie the next year. Same thing with ben simmons
@@sw8gmaster206 ooooh i see. Thanks
Hardly a fall when you consider he makes a killing on the bench, was able to get out of the hood and not repeat his father's mistakes, and set team records for a team in which he'd only spend around a decade in.
As A Wizards Fan Idc How He Does On Our Team I Want Him Back
Kemba Walker and John Wall were very fun to watch... but too bad that injuries bothering them
John Wall was plague with knee injury which put him on the sidelines for 2 years and he came back explosive as he did coming out of Kentucky, but getting traded to Houston was no different than him staying with the wizards I mean management, of the front office gave up on him I think he in the same boat as Victor Oladipo, they both coming back from big knee injury trying to get the bag again.
I see john as still a good player that can help a team so why is he on the bench doing nothing?
