  • While restoring the F117 Nighthawk, we've come to really appreciate the mind-blowing design used to make it stealthy. We take a look at the key features of the aircraft that made it possible.

    Very cool. You can see how the YF-23 was related to aircraft like this. It's also interesting to see what comes out of factories in the future.

    Thanks, Kevin! Well done. The Air Zoo is really doing a great job of, well, doing its job. Much appreciated.

    Is the thrust statically vectored as it comes out of the tail?

    Nice presentation. One small correction. The F-117 did not have “ruddervators”. The V-tail is for yaw only, like a conventional rudder.

    I’m still wondering for which reason the only F-117 that was shooted down in Kosovo, was not bombed afterwards. Why the site with the damaged airplane was not heavely bombed by USA to avoid the soviets to put their hands on it?

    • @johnross6314
      @johnross6314 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because Bill and Hillary Generals of AF, first flew these over and over the exact same routes in Kosovo. And in daylight. On purpose exposing them. So theses criminals, with Lockheed Martin who wanted the criminal F35 development to keep going. F35 development had failed. We see that today. The F117 would never have been shot down by the clever radar operators who used a variety of predictive methods, along with bi-static radar, were allowed to see these live on same routes during the day.

      A.) Because it was already outdated.
      B.) Because the Russian Federation (The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the F-117 was shot down in 1999) couldn't do anything with it. Even if they reverse engineered it, they didn't have the materials, the technology or the prerequisite knowledge required to copy it.
      At this point, the B-2 was already flying missions and the F-22 was in production. Both of which were far more advanced and stealthy than the F-117 was. Its capture posed no threat.

      Pictures of it were already out so the basic design was known. The biggest secret at the time was probably the radar absorbing material(s) it was coated with but they would be hard to destroy by bombing.

      The aircraft also broke apart in the air and the wreckage was scattered, it was also at night so bombing of the wreck would have to wait till daylight.
      The Serbs also collected it very quickly and took it away.

    A Tuskegee Airman designed and invented the F117 . Sir you are a witness to the rewriting of history in how a Tuskegee Airman reinvented the world universe, there is more to come.
