*"He said his grandfather encouraged him to take up the sport because he was doing nothing at home!"*
and go to race by just lying down...
And he became a world champion LoL , damn 🤪🤪
damn...
@@yohohoho9220 train for four years for one race
Now he's doing nothing laying on his back on a sled.
Wow, this day I discover that there is a sport for sliding. So the slides in the park is not just for fun, it is a training equipment.
Sounds like a good excuse for me to go to park alone and slide down slides at 21 years of age.
You talk to high. Stupid
It’s a lot more skill than just sliding down. You’re steering as well, which can be quite difficult with the curves.
earlier in this winter olympics somebody’s died doing this
No, not even close
I only learnt English language as a second language, but for God sakes I can't find better than British commentaries, they sound classic, classy, and informative on point. God bless.
The Brits always bless sport commentating with their brilliant remarks, observations, and excitement.
British commentators are not the only ones there. There are probably better ones.
It's basically practice.
God Bless You Jesus Loves You have a Blessed Day.😊💜
Gosh Sake
am I the only one wondering how in the world does someone get into this
Yeah right?!! like... does someone do this like a hobby????
Yeah, why is this an Olympic sport, though, even though it takes practice but it doesn't need any special skill just lying down??
I grew up in Calgary, which hosted the 88 olympics and some people I know tried it. Similar to ski jumping, you basically have to live in a city that has hosted the olympics.
@@listentogeoff thanks, that answers a lot. But now, how did it become an olympic sport 🧐???
@@Alvin_0523 these athletes are steering the thing in the same way as driving a racecar is just sitting down. It takes alot of skill to get the position on track right, especially in the curves and there have been heavy (fatal) accidents in this sport.
Finally TH-cam recommending something from the olympics that isn’t a crash.
He was going 144 km/h WTF
Austrian athlete went 160 km/h on training run in Whistler.
stuck in
И?
@@kanye101 I doubt that....maybe 154 Km/h....but not 160.
km/h means nothing. MPH FTW
I never knew this sport existed until today. It looks fun and scary they go so fast
They’re pulling some fighter jet level G forces
One of these athletes was killed during a practice run on the first day of this olympics
Lies again? Sunday Bell + Spotify Barcelona + Spank Bang + Sell Backside + Small Boy
@@korinnab.2318it wasant a run it was a practice
Everybody gangsta till the kid that hogged the good sledding spots gets a gold medal.
TH-cam reccomended me about 20 of these vids and I've finally found one where it doesn't involve a crash, broom, fan or a botched start!
Me: this looks fun
10 seconds in
*Why we goin so fast*
that guy with the cellphone at 2:00 made me laugh my ass off.
when I saw his cellphone I was thinking was that 2002 Olympics
you mean 2:02
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It wasen't a cellphone 🤦
@@Leftysmoker i think its smth they use to measure the speed
It takes an incredible athlete to be able to point your toes like that!
Kudos to Seinfeld for this joke, Sir.
IDK how I got here but I enjoyed it more than I thought.
dude is famous in the luging world, I would know he's my hero
It's crazy how fast they are going. Wiping out at those speeds would 100% result in serious injuries or death. That's insane
The coffin dancers gave him the power to do that
Am I the only one searching this after Netflix show "physical 100" ?
r.i.p. to Mr. Nodar Kumaritaschwili, passed away in the pre-Olympic practice for this course in 2010
"Don't luge ya life son"
Shit im 13yo and doing this am i high?
@@kanye101 Now that you're 15, how embarrassed are you by being reminded that you made this comment?
@@brianbethea3069 he has since committed slipper slide.
All jokes aside someone did die at this Olympics doing a luge run
Groan......
david Moller is good at two things luge, and going crosseyed
This is top tier commentary
robin williams stand up comedy introduced me to this sport. and jeez that's fast
+Mohammad Fadhil (Divine) same here :D
+Mohammad Fadhil (Divine) Jerry Seinfeld here
👍
Hold up..
You telling me that my parents were trying to train me to be a professional sled throughout my childhood?
0:55 The increased force on the luger isn't gravitational; it's centrifugal.
well he was talking about equivalent.. but you are correct its just that the majority of the people are brain dead.
yup
🤓Centripetal actually
dude, imaging going that fast especially on those carving turns i wanna do it
Its safer when u r in a car
@@sike1035 okay?
It's safer when u r on foot
@@fernando47180 okay?
This is what I felt like when I was going down a water slide in 3rd grade
Nodar Kumaritashvili had the most memorable run on that track.
Seriously?
I really felt pity for Demtschenko, he was so close to the bronze medal...
Quien mas en cuarentena viendo un vídeo de los juegos de invierno de hace 10 años..
This looks dangerous...damn
rdskn4eva it is
It's like having 3G, lost Consciousness and we died
I know this is seven years old but... this one guy flew off the track into a metal beam and died
Winter sports in general are just fucking dangerous compared to summer sports.
@@HekateMGO all sports are dangerous to an extent. But yes, you're right, since winter sports are mostly carried out on ice and snow, most of them are supremely dangerous. You could land wrong and hit your head in figure skating. You could hurtle off a track at 100 miles/hour in Luge. You could get a blade through the eye in speed skating. You could fall off a mountain in cross-country skiing. So many risks.
Camera crew deserves a raise
3 steps to be a champion
1st u got to have weight
2nd strong hands
3rd relax and enjoy the ride
Easnt it ez
I think there is an initial step: be aware that such a sport exists.
4. Lost grip and you died
Too much weight and you might flip in the curves, scary sliding face down on ice going 140+km/h.
Actually you cant relax, you have to be as tense as possible to be aerodynamic. This is the thing that many people dont know from this sport: it is not simply laying down and win. You have to use all your muscle to make yourself aerodynamic, and make some very subtle move to steer the curve
looks faster than 2014 season of F1
Faster than 2020 Ferrari
2020 den selamlar , ne güzel yarışmış bu böyle..💫
Looks like such a fun sport!
stop it at 1:43
😂
😂😂😂
😌😌
😂👍🤣👀
You're the 3rd comment !!!
this is what i used to do in my childhood... I didn't know that i could compete in the Olympics 😂😂
Camera work amazing
Excellent performance congratulations 🙏
Luge, the only sport where you lay on your back through the entire thing.
Respect from Malaysia ❤
This is mind blowing quite literally
how the fuck is this a olimpic game and not some sport like karate??????
Just creepy to know that someone died on that track.
Yeah.....that was pretty tragic. At least it was fast.
Why is there a bunch of bot comments from 4 years ago on a bunch of Olympic videos from 2010? all over this channel... and people are liking them too
He always prayin for his ball
2:55 did he high five that guy with spiked gloves?!
he touch his arm
Every time I hear this commentators voice I keep thinking a plane is about to crash onto the luge track. Thanks Seconds From Disaster...
Ha-ha! Me too!
Luge and bobsledding are awesome!
peak athletic performance
This is how my body is when I get sleep paralysis
At first i was like “ oh this looks fun, its quite slow tho” then aft that “o geez be careful thats fast”
Who else is here after watching Seinfeld?
i know it probably increases drag but could we get a go pro on that thing
Imagine you do Sport Bc you have nothing to do at home and then god forbid u end up tragically dying
You keep pushing we get ideas
I miss playing this type of game on 3ds sonic
Well, technically it was 3 Germans on the podium and 4 in the top 5. Armin Zöggeler came from the South Tyrol region in Italy, the region used to belong to Austria, Austrians are Germans. Hell, he still has a German last name too....
This looks incredibley fun yet also dangerous
3:01 german scream
It’s crazy that every cut was just jumping to a .5 second clip
This is how i used to ride a scateboard down a hill when i was a kid.
2:50 east germany flag -.-
Who cares?
@@linajurgensen4698 I dunno man maybe because east germany haven't existed for twenty years
@@actualperson1971 so?

@@actualperson1971 30 years ;-)
In 2021 Felix can now win the womens Luge as well.
The Italian couldn't believe how fast they were hahaha
so how do you slide down a hill better than the next guy?
you go faster by a full three-quarters of a second which is a large margin 4:31
It’s like racing a car but you can’t step on the gas. You need to enter and exit turns PERFECTLY.
Don't hit the walls, keep your sled straight, don't weave through the turns, etc.
Why is the woman at 2:54 holding a GDR flag? This was 2010, the GDR stopped existing in 1990
Ada yg nonton 2019?
this has to be the more fun sport ever , i wanna try it
Nice vid
How does the camera guy even keep up with them? that's crazy
Im so deep right now that it all started with just a broom, youtube recommendation smh
what the hell same
1:43 !! hahaha derp
1:43 the eyes
2:50 Why is that woman on the right waving the flag of East Germany?
The cameraman could have picked someone better to focus on, surely.
Imagine sliding down that track on your stomach😂💀
That's actually a sport. It's called Skeleton. You go head first on your stomach on the same track. :-)
that commentary voice.
Those guys go pretty fast
What a sport:D
What the hell is wrong at 1:44...bro you nuts 😂😂
What's the strategy to win here? Since you don't have any control over the Sled? Or does he?
Yea he has control. You steer with your legs. Strategy is to enter turns correctly and maintain your speed. Also you can’t get to high up the track on the big banked turn.
I feel like im watching an episode of Seconds From Disaster, the announcer is the same as the narrator from SFD
commentator sounding like some narrator you would hear on discovery channel
The Olympics sound fun but dangerous, if you lose you'd also be embarrassed
Lmao this is the commentator for “seconds before disaster”
l still wounder how this became an olympic game?
lovely Italian name, Armin Zoeggeler (give back sudtirol)
We kicked your ass a few times too many to give it back. On the other hand if haf the population of sudtirol wants to move to Austria or Germany they are welcome to do that
"this spot looks decent. alright strap me to the sled, johnny. yeah i'm sure about this, just hold my fucking beer. you pressed record right? alright now gently push me..." 0:36

Lol it's the "seconds from disaster" commentator. Makes me think he going to crash.
I came here from dr.evil but i remember watching this thing as a kid wondering how the hell is this even safe
