Looking for my first-ever gaming headset and this was incredibly helpful, thank you for a thorough review! The mic test was especially helpful.
Can further add that since getting the Razer BlackShark V2 X, I have been getting compliments on my mic quality. It’s not a perfect headset, but it’s pretty dang good for $60 and I have no regrets.

Based on this review I snagged a MH630. It is every bit of how you reviewed! There is an issue, however, that was not mentioned and I wish I knew prior to purchasing it... When using it with the PS5, people in my party complain that they can hear a faint echo when they say anything. I tried to unplug the chord and plug back in, did not solve the problem. After some research, the only thing that "sort of" worked was to turn down the mic sensitivity (all the way down). The other party members would only hear the echo now if they speak loudly. This issue was only observed with the PS5, it worked flawlessly with the PS4, PC, etc. Perhaps it is an issue with the 5 settings that they may be able to patch in the future.

Thank you so much for testing these and letting us listen to the audio. I've been combing through videos of tech "review" channels where they don't test them at all, show us the features, or even let us listen how the audio is. Been using the blackshark v2x for almost a year. Man they sound so good. And the mic is so good that I often use the headset for zoom meetings.
Some of the Amazon reviewers are claiming that the Coolermaster MH630 has crosstalk / sound leak issues. It seemed like the best option for me since the Blackshark is priced over $100 in my region.

After watching a couple other reviews on the Recon 200, most people say that its tight, put will be more comfort fit after about a month of use. They just need to be broken in.

I'm gonna get the Turtle Beach Recon 200, and I know you put them at #5 but I have a small head and ears. So they'll fit me really well, I even tried them. I might get the Turtle Beach stealth 300, (I tried these too) I'm still debating.

The MH630 are stereo, not 5.1 or 7.1. That’s it ideal if you’re looking to use this for games you need to hear details like enemy footsteps.
hi man i love your videos, i really got insired by your review and got the Cooler Master MH630, they are comfortable, mic is great and sound is ok (i was using a 350 dollars headphones before, so obviusly the change in sound is pretty massive). but i would tell the people to be aware of the build quality of the headphones, i had it for litterally a day and one of the pieces that attach the headphone to the headband, broke straight away, no the the headphones just dance around your head haha, luckily i got it from retail so i can change the product straight away and do not have to deal with cooler master support. but yeah the headphones are great for the price but be aware that they can broke easily without you doing anything particular, maybe i was just unlucky and got a defective ones, but is better to share the experience with people who may be thinking to get this ones.

the reason why the turtle beach has a ps4 or xbox switch and why this ps4 is louder is because when you connect to the dualshock contoller, they naturally have a lower volume when sound is fed wired from controller to headset.
Bought the Razer BlackShark V2 X's and it feels like im not even wearing a headset as i play. It has a great mic too!

@@deveshahuja9910 the Razer Blackshark V2X has better bass than the Coolermaster MH630, the blackshark has a slightly better sound signature basically. The MH630 on the other hand prioritises the highs, so it can be good for competitive FPS players but the Blackshark can do both plus more maturer sound stage. Both are really good though, whichever one shouldn't dissapoint you.
If you're think of getting the Recon 200, I've had one and it has terrible mic quality and the mic will eventually fall off, the ps4 and Xbox switch is useless, and it's super uncomfortable to wear, overall it's a good headset if u are looking for a headset to only own for 1-2 months

@@itzme8763 I’ve had them for about three years lol. No issues. Still work perfectly fine. I’ve kinda stoped gaming but on the off chance that I do I will use them or to listen to music.

@@bradentita488 I just remembered I saw a 3 months later review on hs60 pro and he said that he has connection issues with the USB adapter and his mic dies, the mic is important for me so just wanted to make sure if u didn't have any issues like that, cause u said u don't game that much but u listen to music, but you don't use your mic while listening to music so u might have not noticed that issue, or maybe u use ur mic and u don't have that issue. Basically long story short does the mic work after 2/3 years ?

Nice video . Got the MH630 some months ago and I am very happy with them . The mic is very good , they are very comfy and the sound is good . I have a feeling the bass could be a little bit bassy but it's good . I am a bassy guy but I am satisfied . It was a good 60$ buy . I can totally recommend !

no idea. I would honestly rma through cooler master. quick checks would be look over your 3.5 make sure it's in good condition, as well as your port.
I have the same problem, but I can't rma it, what I actually did, and fixed it a little bit, was activating in the enhancements option of Acoustic Echo Cancellation and worked, I don't really know if it is an issue of not using the splitter, but I actually can't use the splitter in any other pc, so, for the moment, that one is the solution I found that has worked

If you want to loosen the clamp on the Recon 200, bend the headband enough on it. Helps to do that since I myself wear glasses with my Recon 70 headset.

My V2 X clamping force was super light. The left ear piece would seal around my ear. Sound was way to treble focused. Sounded hollow. Searched for weeks to find a good deal at $30 and was completely disappointed

i'm very interested in the MH630 Cooler Master but i read somewhere in reddit that it has massive crosstalk. is this true?
Yes, unfortunately. I bought them after seeing these reviews say how great they are, and now I will have to return them. The crosstalk is insane, it is there even if you unplug the mic and mute it via the headset mute button. Heck, there is some crosstalk even if you use a standalone mic.
Can you do this again for higher end headsets that work fully for both next gen consoles please? Thanks

Black Friday is actually the best time to purchase a gaming headset, you can get more expensive headsets cheaper (I got the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition for $55, usually $100) and you can get good cheap headsets for around $30 (in 2019, I got the HyperX Cloud Stinger for $30) which will be better than no-names around $20-$30.
I'd would like to point out that headsets like the HS60 Pro (and HS45) and the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition are more ideal for PC users since they have features aimed towards PC gamers. They can be used on consoles but you won't see a benefit of the more expensive USB model since the controllers connect through 3.5mm anyway. If a gamer is mostly a PlayStation or Xbox user, it's best to get the cheaper 3.5mm model like the Corsair HS50 Pro but if the USB model is the same price (for example, the HS60 Pro for $50), don't hesitate to get the USB model.
If anyone is looking for a cheap gaming headset, I'd advise avoiding cheap headsets from no-names like BENGOO, Beexcellent, and VersionTECH since these headsets tend to have poor build quality and may stop working after a few weeks/months, plus most tend to have the useless USB connector which can be annoying if the headset is used on PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series X|S. The same is true for gaming keyboards and mice; avoid no-names that are cheaper than $50 or $30 respectively.
