I've really been enjoying the Corsair HS80, but I found the volume output of the microphone to be just a bit too low. Easily resolved it by adding some pre-amp through Equalizer APO.
Did you get Equalizer EPO from my Corsair forum post? I had the same issue and fixed it using EQ APO as well. Battery life for me has been pretty good. I gamed from 10am til about 1am last Saturday and didn't get the low battery warning. I use a V curve in the iCue EQ. I wear glasses and they are super comfy. Also the drivers are canted inside so they are angled similar to the angle your ears poke out from your head. My ears don't touch anything inside the earcups and it's amazing. Once Corsair fixes the mic issue and quality control problems with erratic battery life differences between units, they will have the perfect wireless headset imo. Some may argue for adding bluetooth but I don't care about that as a feature.
The HyperX Cloud Flight S Wireless is very underrated. Doesn't get much attention in the media either. Very comfortable, wireless, good quality, and it's charged with a qi charger. I have a pair of Sony PS4 Platinum w/3d audio & bluetooth. I've used them with my PS4, PS5 & PC...and my ipod :D ... I find they delivery very clear and clean sound, the 3d audio is actually really good on both systems, (PS5 headset audio is different from PS4), and with DTS on PC it's especially nice, watching movies, I dont use DTS for gaming. They can be loaded with custom profiles or presets and have some (not many) specific game manufacturers profiles. As for battery life, tbh I have never let them run down to find out, but I believe its 10 hours..dont quote me on that. The only bad thing I can say about them is the headband is a "rubber" type material and can be uncomfortable after a couple hours, I modified mine to have a nice soft foam cushion. Would be interested in a "console vs other" headset comparison.
Corsair hs80 is so good battery time 19-20 hours turn off the rgb! and that mic is just crazy good gonna be hard using something else after this headset and yeah its wireless :D
Very nice! I mean let's just take a moment to appreciate how this is filmed. Love the lighting, the composition of the products and the neat look of Dimitiri's desk. Maybe you should rank your choices for us in an easier way or put some on-screen prompt. I don't really recall what are the top picks at the end of the day. Also would love to see a behind the scenes of how you shoot your videos.
Best bang for the buck headset will always be the Philips SHP9500 and a V-Moda boom mic, you can't change my mind. If you start going into higher price points than that, you may as well get higher end open backs and a condenser mic. Or an Antlion Mod Mic, those are also fantastic without being a giant mic on the desk in front of you.
If you like the HS80, I would suggest to RMA it, if your battery-life is really that low. My HS80 is running at least 12h+ on a full charge, which is less than my Arctis 7, but still "okay". The charging time however is very long...way over 3 hours, as the last few percents state of charge, the charging current goes down to 100mA (it charges at max ~500mA when the state of charge is below ~70%).
Nice vid! Is there any way we can get another video like this but with more even price ranges? I noticed some headphones had more lux versions in the above 100 dollar range but most of them weren't reviewed here; Then others only had expensive models and were presented without a proper match up... Same thing applies for wired vs wireless headphones... Love your vids! Just want more 👏😎

Loved the video .. How about reviews on 7.1 ( Atmos ? suround sound etc ) head phones . Not really seen anyone reviewing them for game/movies . Games coming out with surround sound and the like features ,etc.
Great review! If you have the budget and don't want any compromise in terms os sound and mic quality I highly recommend the team tyger setup from beyerdynamic. Really good design, top comfort and top sound stage. Keep in mind the tyger 300r is open back tho.
I like the feedback when the headsets are worn with glasses, but can you try it with thicker plastic frames as well? and in talking about getting a new pair, Ill have to wait for my HS50 non-pro (which was the first video I watched from you guys, and helped me deciding to get it) to break, however, I did got it replacement earpads from Misodiko, therefore extending its lifespan.
I still haven't found a perfect wireless gaming headset, I find that I can still sense the audio delay. I've tested the A50's, G Pro wireless & G533, Razer Kaira and Opus, Arctis 9x and a few others, all have had at least the smallest bit of latency. I've tried the various display delay methods but all are very inconsistent and enhance the mouse & keyboard/controller delay. I may just be too sensitive to audio latency or haven't used the right headset yet.
@@ONeill1421 Bluetooth is in my experience the biggest issue. The 2.4GHz headsets seem to be lower latency than all of the Bluetooth headsets I've tried.

@@jhuckabey1976 ive never had that issue with this setup. ive even made recordings of myself and played the audio back in the headset over and over to make my opinions... i also have the windows settings for mic pick up at 100% with minimal to no extra noise. the mic is plugged into a usb port.. forgot to mention im using the mic on boom arm with a shock mount as my cheap boom arm springs would sometimes pick up in the mic while adjusting the boom...
I don't think you mean compression when you talk about the the mics. You mean noise suppression. Compression makes louder sounds quieter. If you boost that result you get a more even dynamic range of the peaks in your recording. It works against noise suppression since boosting the entire signal afterwards, what you will always need to do to compensate for the volume reductions of the compressor, increases all the quiet noises and the noise floor in general.
Not a gaming headset, but I'm using the wh1000xm3 (well the Sony active noise cancelling not sure I spelled the name correctly 😅) and I'm super happy But it has been a blessing comparing to my old steelseries one. I don't hear my pc fans anymore (with a 3080 and ryzen 9 the fans are spinning quite fast 😅), and it is a really great experience with 30+ hours of battery life
I have a Kraken V2 X USB as a daily driver, just because of how comfortable they are and the digital volume control is so nice to have, but unfortunately the USB sound card is hissing quite often, sometimes it even accumulates current and makes a loud blast in your ears. And recently the plastic chassis just splitted in half. Razer makes great mice, but I can't say the same about headsets. I think I will just buy a mic mod for an actual music headphones.
Steelseries really lacks in the mic department, I've had the arctis 5s for a little over two years and it's probably the best headset they have. Sound quality is great, fits my larger ears and the mic is actually pretty good. I got the arctis 7 wireless a couple days ago and already returned it. The mic quality was the worst I've heard. Even looked for fixes all over the internet with nothing working. Just bad Quality mics with really good quality sound

Yesss, I saw the Epos H6 Pro!
Also, I'm surprised the HS80 is cheaper!
Would be neat if you guys did a video on higher end headsets from "proper" audio companies e.g beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, Audeze, etc.
I recommend BadSeedTech if you want some "audiophile headphones for gaming" reviews, his reviews helped me land on the Schiit stack and Beyer Dynamic DT1990 Pro's for my gaming setup.
Do any of those companies actually have high end gaming headsets with microphones?
@@ragetobe their cheapest ranges will blow any "gaming headset" out of the water, then you'll have plenty of spare change for a USB mic or a Bluetooth modmic
@@joshuawest3906 I have very nice headphones for music but I use Astros for gaming ebcause I can move from PC to Console without having to take a mic with me or even locate one on the sofa. I don't bel;eive the headphoens you are talking about could solve that problem which is why gaming headphones exist. I am a tradesman and I try to always use the correct tools for the job.
Just get the beyerdynamic dt 880 600 ohm with the magni heresy paired with the modi 3+. For the mic I guess an akg p120. For a simpler set-up the Akg K712’s paired with the schiit hel and with the akg p120.
For your own experience wise, which wired headset do you think has the best microphone quality that can be used for consoles?
May be cooler master mh751 o mh752 its what your looking for.
Astro a50 gen4 all day everyday if you want the best I use them for my ps5 with the adapter for Dolby audio try them you will thank me later
Wired mic pc38x by senheiser
sennheiser pc38x
Kraken TE. Best headphones I've used. Wonderful experience with them
It sounds Krakeny! Love it, thank you so much!
That HS80 sounds like a XLR Mic wow!
I have Krakens and this review makes me feel validated in my hate for them
They Epos h6 pros look great! Will you be doing a review on them soon? I’m look to buy a headset and want to hear what you have to say about them
Yeah I changed to using proper headphones due to your recommendation.
Absolutely zero regrets.
Nice vid. Would you go with the PC38X or the H6 Pro for an open back?
Your opinion from my experience is the only one I can trust
Which of these has the best noise cancelling? Would you suggest compared to in ear earbuds?
Just buy a hyperx cloud 2 in sale for 50 euros. It wont disappoint anyone. Great headset with good build quality. Really comfortable. It sounds great the mic is pleasant. Its very durable too. I have mine for 4 years now and still couldn’t find any better option to buy a new headset
Setup looks 🔥🔥🔥.
What monitor is that?!
What keyboard are u rocking in the video? Love the colours :)
Well since you mentioned it at the start of the video, please make a video about gaming headphones! Thank you
Corsair hs80 is so good battery time 19-20 hours turn off the rgb! and that mic is just crazy good gonna be hard using something
else after this headset and yeah its wireless :D
I bet those Corsair HS80 are lovely; I use my HS70 Pro as my daily and the microphone quality has always been top rate.
I have the same headset, they're great quality 👌
I have rgb and voice commands turned off on my hs80s and the battery life is amazing never gets into red and just plug them in before work ever night
This might be the first wireless headset with a passable microphone i have ever heard
You haven’t heard the Corsair virtuoso then. That thing is insane.
Kapow is also better than most (not all) of the headset out there at least in terms of mic quality.
@@heatnup i still found the HS80 mic to be closer to reality than the virtuoso... just my 2 cents
Thank you for the reviews I have a Razor mic no longer working.
In your opinion which is netter?
The epos h6 pro open version or the PC38X?
bro how do you make your eyes glow blue that is badass
g335 is on sale in Hong Kong, the price is hkd 299 (usd 38.5). seem like a good deal
Give the koss kph30i a try. It will surprise you.
Hey Dimitry, are you doing a updated Setup Tour in the Future ?
Would love to get more Infos about your Keyboard/Mouse and Monitor :)
I was jusy wondering about the monitor myself
Same, that keyboard looks amazing
If you like the HS80, I would suggest to RMA it, if your battery-life is really that low. My HS80 is running at least 12h+ on a full charge, which is less than my Arctis 7, but still "okay". The charging time however is very long...way over 3 hours, as the last few percents state of charge, the charging current goes down to 100mA (it charges at max ~500mA when the state of charge is below ~70%).
let's gooo i've wanted this video for a long time
Still happy with my Turtle Beach Altas Elites...still the best I've heard and the inline volume control is so useful...all for $89
H6 Pro is my go to headset.
Just want more 👏😎
I know that these days there are probably better options but you cannot go wrong with Astro a40s, been using them for 6 years
100%
nice review man...
can you help me deciding that should i upgrade my gsp 300 headset to the h6 pro closed ?
i bought the gsp 300 one month ago for 40$ and i can get the h6 pro closed new for 80$ only now as a special discount for me .
should i upgrade or will it not worth it ?
my only use is competitive gaming like 95% of all my free time.
thanks in advance Dimitri ❤
Loved the video .. How about reviews on 7.1 ( Atmos ? suround sound etc ) head phones . Not really seen anyone reviewing them for game/movies . Games coming out with surround sound and the like features ,etc.
Wondering what your take on the Corsair XT is.
As usual great video!
A headset review we deserve. Thanks Dimitry.
I wish that EPOS was Wireless, would tick all the boxes for me!
They look so nice....
@@racerex340 if hs80 had Bluetooth it would ve perfect for me like
@@ONeill1421 Bluetooth is in my experience the biggest issue. The 2.4GHz headsets seem to be lower latency than all of the Bluetooth headsets I've tried.
@@racerex340 well yeah but your not gonna connect Bluetooth for playing games
Thanks for your info. Which would you recommend for the Xbox Series X? Currently looking at the Corsair Virtuoso XT, JBL Quantum One and Hyper X Cloud Orbit S
Hello good people I am Dimitri and I'm here to pump 👏👏 you up!!!
Another great video. Thx for your handy tips Starlord... :D
I got the H6Pros, I dont NEED to know anything else ❤
the h6 pro my god I WANT ITTTT
the Philips SHP9500 plugged directly into the back of a samson q2u microphone on a mic boom is the best gaming headset + mic on a super budget!
My current headset has terrible audio bleed from the earcups into the boom mic. What is your experience with music playing while in Voice Comms like Discord? Do these open-backs not bleed into the Samson? Thank you for response; I'm the guy with 72 tabs open researching : P
What keyboard is on his desk? I like that color.
I’ve always liked my krakens
I use my 450 euro Sennheiser HD660s and a 4$ usb microphone from aliexpress 😅👌
I've had 0 complaints about the mic sound.
Love & appreciate the amount of effort that's put into these videos, thank you!
Missing the cooler master MH751/752.
Most people don't know they originated from actual good Headphones the Takstar pro 82
PC38x is my number 1 choice
"Aaand I'm in the 30's and I dig it" 😂😂
I got an Arctis 1 wireless and it's pretty damn good. Been using it for 2 hours straight and batt level is still in green
Not a gaming headset, but I'm using the wh1000xm3 (well the Sony active noise cancelling not sure I spelled the name correctly 😅) and I'm super happy
But it has been a blessing comparing to my old steelseries one. I don't hear my pc fans anymore (with a 3080 and ryzen 9 the fans are spinning quite fast 😅), and it is a really great experience with 30+ hours of battery life
Do you use them wired or wireless? Im asking because wireless adds a lot of latency for me.
Please review Audeze Penrose they sound Amazing
