      It's called Chiburi. In reality he probably would have thoroughly wiped the sword to prevent lingering blood which would cause rust

    • @jeffreyburney6161
      @jeffreyburney6161 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are several moves like that in Japanese martial arts. The only thing that you can do to replicate is put water on the blade. It will remove some of the water, but not all of it but it’s still pretty cool though. The reason why that they would try to remove as much blood from the blade as possible is because blood will make your blade rust. I would imagine that samurai and other swordsman as soon as they got to a place they could clean their blade with probably clean it and dry it thoroughly.

    Takeshi Kitano did a great job making this movie. One of his best movies, big hit at the cinema. Very enjoyeable. Wonder why he never made another one of this movie? He chose to make 3 Outrage movies instead. Two of them were fantastic but still feel he really brought out this Zatoichi character, the blind swordsman. He could have done like Tom Cruise, improving on his Mission Impossible series, everyone better than the next. No, he just put a full stop there.

      +NicosoftNT Sort of. There's an anime called One Piece that has Admirals based of famous Japanese actors. It just so happens the recent appointed one is based on Zaitochi. Type in Fujitora vs Sabo on TH-cam and you'll see what am talking about. Dude is an absolute beast.
