Hi James!!! Thanks for the great video. Inspired me to repair mine. Mh250 ... I had to bring the fuel line in from tank. I couldn't get it from top side. I kept pinching the line. Bought 2 lines, correctly installed 1....
Thomas the sailor.... mine cranked at 9:15 p.m. just now !!! Love that sound, bet the neighbors hated it and me. I'm definitely not a city boy. Going to my 60 acres tomorrow, and chopping lots of trees...lol

I suggest using long needle nose pliers . And angled extra long needle nose pliers work great too .

Thanks. That's right - the kink in the line makes it hard to pull the old line up from the top - you free it by pushing it through first rather than just pulling it down. The bottom part of the seal has a smaller diameter than the top, so I find it easier to install from the top as well as you need to push it into place with your fingers.

This is helpful. thanks. Unfortunately your hand is blocking the view of pushing the old seal through from the top.

Thanks for a great video. Should the fuel filter be pointing towards the front of the saw when you re-insert the fuel line? The place where the fuel line passes through the White plastic has a sort of key hole outline. Should that tab be on the left side of the saw as you look at it from the handle? Cheers

4:12 - is there a problem, if the fuel just keeps coming out from a loose tube like that?
or is that quite normal when there is some fuel in the tank?

Good vid. So, to take it out, you just pulled it down into the tank? And same with the install? Install from the top?

I had to do mine from bottom, tank side. If you pull the line too hard it will pinch or tear the line.

Pull it out through the tank to remove, put it back in from tank. Gently working it into its hole through tank. My lines were easily damaged from pulling. I slid in from tank, gently pulled up, and worked the small flange on line with a flat screwdriver from edges inward to get it secured in hole. Not textbook, but pulling those soft lines, well mine developed stretches, and tiny holes in the first one.

That's a great saw and well worth keeping running. These saws are difficult to damage when replacing parts. I imagine it is similar to the carb model in my video. I would download a parts diagram and use it to gradually work your way in. Take lots of photos take your time and enjoy it. Above all make sure the fuel line connection are secure with no fuel or air leaks 👍👍

thanks James. I called STIHL today , gave them my serial number, but my saw was built in year 2000 and they don’t keep records back that far. They did give me the part number so I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the reply.

@@JamesTheForester Hey James...I thought I would reach out to you one more time. So, my 036 Pro...I dug in, step by step, taking pictures along the way. Don't you know my carb would not fit past the handle to come off. I looked real and carefully push the new fuel line under the carb. Getting the tank grommet to line up was challenging but I did it. Proud to say and you were my inspiration. Thank you so much

I'm proud of you! Well done for sticking at it and keeping these fantastic older saws going. 👍👍
