for the folks at home wondering: why'd he say "never would've thought stellar tera would be the way to go." it's because the shield that raid pokemon put up takes reduced damage depending on whether your tera and move's type match, and stellar tera only matches tera blast and tera starstorm so despite giving STAB to all moves it doesn't do as much on shield as the matching tera
for the folks at home wondering: why the stellar tera on Decidueye then? that one's because the ghost type neutralizes grass's weakness to poison that would let Venusaur tear Decidueye apart with sludge bombs if it was tera grass

What a coincidence as I recently got a sassy Rowlet from a Facebook Pokémon group giveaway, not too long ago as now I’m going to thank this very person for helping me out for this upcoming ter battle for Tera Ground Venusaur, as this was so unexpected yet it actually worked for me as well much the same way you did, as I’d rather take the poison from sludge bomb then the special defense drop from earth power anytime as at least you can get rid of it with the cheers with the best drop you can’t unless if the Pokémon itself faints, it’s very detrimental especially if they’re already Terastrallized after a few turns into the battle.

i think Calyrex-Glastrier works better due to having Glacial Lance, I also tried glastrier it is beautifully soloing it!
My glastrier's base speed is 147, a cresselia used trick room and it made the strat fail:(

…Proceeds to set up a build that takes a while to set up and then mashes one move for the win..
Most builds are going to be like that just due to opponent debuffing moves for this raid not being consistent, forcing players to set up themselves.
The question seems to more be how much thought goes into the moves chosen, since strategy can make even bad mons work for the raid.

Bad mons as in mons that have BST lower than second stage starters, or having weaknesses to the raid boss. Both bad mon in terms of terrible stats, and in terms of being bad normally for tbe raid.
I get what you mean, it's just that is the nature of this raid because Venu has amnesia instead of weather ball.
