Thanks. Just paid a "mechanic" R7500 to replace my clutch assembly, Cv's and drive shaft oil seals. I even supplied all the parts. Never knew how to do it. After realising he omly changed the clutch assembly and stole the rest I had to watch this channel to do the rest myself. Brilliant. Thanks.

Great video, thank you. My Golf eats cv joints and it costs a fortune to have replaced. Please when possible make a video on replacing the outer cv. These little cars are very common in SA and it would mean a lot to know how to do it ourselves.

Great Stuff...Brilliant idea having the inner CV replaced without removing the entire shaft.I was however faced with one 'Challenge' the Replacement Kit that I purchased came with a 'paper like gasket'.I didn't know what to do with it...so I used it on the recessed groove of the joint that had the similar shape as the gasket.

Im trying to find a vid on the front driver and passenger side cv axels for 92 vw cabriolet. This looks really similiar and helped quite a bit but im not a mechanic by any means.
You have done a good job, although undoing the lower control arm and the ball joint has changed the geometry of the wheel. By undoing the main bolt from the bearing hub and your two strut bolts would have given clearance to access your axel. You will need an alignment, but good to see anything done in house. I viewed this video because I need to do the outer cv do you have any video on that, cheers.
Shot! I've got a 1995 Jetta3. I was about to take the whole strut out! What did you think of those WAG products? Should I change the CV? It's not knocking or anything. I haven't had much joy with after market CVs.

I disagree: the lower ball joint will go back in exactly the same position to a fraction of a millimeter. No alignment needed.
