Meanwhile, I guess we can adjust our workflow and save Denoise in Photoshop for after the final cull.

That really depends what you use. If you are using the new features a lot, the photography plan is less than upgrading PS and LR every 18 months like we used to, if you never used to upgrade for years, then it isn’t.

It may be the computer system. Updating your system you can go from 20 minutes to literally seconds. I recently experienced this. My old system got to where it did not even run LRC very well.
I use a MacBook Pro M1, LrC crashes all the time, especially when exporting a file. Am using Sequoia 15.1. Any suggestions! The diagnostics says it OK, and program works on my MacBook Pro! Edit: I uninstalled Lightroom Classic, then reinstalled it from Creative Cloud. Works now.
You can see the names on them. Remove the unused ones with old names. I suggest moving to a different folder first to make sure nothing is broken before disposing of them. Your photos should be in a different location
Thank you for your video. IMHO this update is not at all major. If you look into CR, there is much more to come. Especially the denoising is a big improvement in my workflow.

Drip drip update by Adobe again for LRc... the most important update in this version for me is the improved performance in thumbnail and previews, and somewhat in develop module loading times, which seems to have a bit more snap to it... even if the interface still lags on a 4k screen... just like it was back in 2014.... (apparently something Mac users don't get so much)... overall... Meh update rather than big update... Thanks for the video!
@@photoshopcafe - Improved cropping tool/interface, it has no control other than aspect (e.g. no pixel readout of crop area (that is just math) and is horrendous to line up if you want to crop segments accurately -> maybe even incorporate a way to divide images up (like all the free web tools you can use to make crops for all social platforms - something I have to make custom print templates to achive, if you klnow how to). BUT at least they got rid of the cropping lag... that only took a decade. - Rebuild the UI to get rid of UI lag on 4k and above screens (And if you don't get this issue, lucky you) it has been there for over a decade, even now on a RTX4070 super and i7 cpu. - Update the snapshot interface, it is just a dropdown with no visual cues (something they built into LR). - Improve the presets, export interface and watermark interface (for instance you have to make sevral clicks into a dropdown menu to update an edited preset rather than having it as a button on the GUI to update - and yet the gui has a ton of free space for this) - all three are basic and still legacy from a decade ago... - Fix the awful memory management: Adobe LRc eats system ram and doesn't clean up after itself. Edit for an hour or two and have to close LRc to free up all of the reserved working memory being cached (being hogged) *just in case I return to something I was working on 20 minutes ago? - in the age or SSD's this is pointless bad programming. - Fix the "Waiting for printer" in print modue - when LRc tries to connect to the system default printer. WHO cares if it is online or not adobe? I may actually be printing to a file not the printer! - Remove or update publishing tools - they are pretty much unused features and uselss as they are a decade old. - Web module? WTF.... delete this junk - it is not based around modern flex standards. - Same for slideshow... - Same for book... *Adobe trying to cram in all this clutter when there are better, even free, tools out there. Turns LRc into bloatware. - Better control for UI font sizes - for those of us using more than 1 screen. - And fix the "active click" are around the navigation section > mis clicks and active areas that open navigator rather than activating the size you want to zoom/scale too... E.g? click just under [ Fit | 100% |Custom % ] - > it opens the navigator rather than changing zoom ? been reported a gazillion times... still exisits in the GUI a decade later...Which is even worse on a 4k screen where the font is small > if you don't want a GUI your 200 year old grandma can see without here reading specticles on... that is.... - How about not having 16 services not running in the background when I close LRc? This is a general gripe of my for all adobe products, they launch the CC interface and never actually "close" anything other than the foreground application when you exit, all the crap runs in the background hogging resources, scheduling updates and checks you are probably unaware of, and diallig home unnecessarily... - Update the GUI so you can separate what YOU want on L and R sides? I extensively use collections, having them on the same vertical as the file interface means long scroll lists or the annoying solo mode that still requires scrolling > If I could build my custom interface layouts like Photoshop that would be 200IQ helpful compared to this 2head rubbish adobe still enforces in LRc. - Keyword interface needs an update and a better way to manage because you can screw up all your careful work by importing one image into a catalogue and have that images's keywords infest your keyword trees... leading to time wasted manually deleting orphened/duplicated keywords.. Bad GUI and bad implementation/management, Fixed this decade from my shitlist: *they finally got rid of the horrendous "catalogue versions at update* that is most annoying when you have 20+ catalogues... *and finally fixed the font size discrepency on identity plate where 24pt (example) was different from tools and name... * crop tool is more fluid. 10 years ago it lagged to hell even with a D800 raw file to crop... go you adobe!. I could go on... there are plenty of minor deficiencies that adobe still ignores .... here;'s to another 14 years waiting and hoping

This is precicely why and how Da Vinci crept up and stole their thunder in the video editing and specifically, grading, industry. Caught napping. Only recently have they made major interface and program/workflow changes to Premier and After Effects - because - ...shareholders.... This may sound like a synical rant to some, but it is backed up by emipical evidence and a proven track record, including the antitrust investigations they are now under.... LRC fundamentally is a fantastic tool. As potentially fundamental as photoshop, but it does not get the same care and attention from Adobe, who I suspect would prefer us to all move to their cloud-centric solutions (also for the stated reason above, and) because they can then sell you storage at a X-times--inflated premium (I say inflated because I get 1TB with my office365 for a 10th the annual cost of 100GB with an adobe plan, and none of the privacy/data intrusion issues Adobe brings). I actually thought about 10 years ago that LRC would be shelved because of this direction of travel (in technology). I'm still waiting for that email from them telling me to migrate or lose service.... I guess time will tell!
For most people, the big difference is… Lightroom: If you upload originals to the Lightroom cloud (mandatory on mobile, optional on desktop), Adobe can take care of and back up all your originals, and they are always available to any device you have, as long as there is an Internet connection. But if you need more space than your plan offers, your monthly rate goes up. Lightroom Classic: It is your responsibility to take care of and back up your own photos locally, under your control on your own computer. You only pay for more storage drives occasionally, as needed. You don’t always need Internet to use Classic. Classic has more features, like secondary display and printing, and more plug-ins.
I recently updated my iOS to Ventura 13.7.1 to be able to update to the newest versions of LR and PS and since then LR Classic seems to be moving slow at times. For example, the sliders are choppy and slow to react making editing times longer than usual. I am using a 2017 iMac and have around 275GB of 1TB available and before the updates things ran fine as long as I didn't get much below under 20% memory available. I am wondering if maybe my iMac is just too old to properly handle the recent updates or if maybe there is a setting in LR that needs to be changed to support large files. Any help would be appreciated.

There seems to be a bug LRC wasn’t exporting to/from PS 25. I ended up deleting the latest PS and reloading PS 24 . Hopefully there will be a fix soon
Terrific video, rhx for sharing. Denoise takes over 20 minutes inside LRC versus 1-3 minutes in Topaz. Why the disparity?
Denoise takes like 10-15 seconds for me in lrc
WIN 11, it take's round 4 - 5 sec on a 45MP File... but it's a bit a high end PC.

What’s the diffrence between classic and the light room ?
Lightroom is a combo of desktop and mobile. Lightroom Classic is mostly desktop based with more robust local storage and file management

Thanks for the info. Still the new LRC version is underwhelming. Raw denoise is exactly te same as in the past. So, very few new features.
I agree, some of the other updates had more. I think the beta features like despise, no longer just beta. Feels like less new stuff
All the money we pay each month and a completely lack-lustre update. They don’t have to try, they get the money each month whatever.
I still prefer Bridge and Raw, The 'import ' function of LR annoys me :)

Make sure you absolutely cover the entire object With the selection. Even tiny pixels can cause issues if they aren't selected.

Worst update ever, nothing compared to ACR
