Thanks, JP! You helped me remove my old high school CD player from my old CRV before I retired her. Now I can save it for another CRV down the line and keep the legacy going! This was very cathartic for me, appreciate your guidance, my man.

Much appreciated boss 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 and for anyone withOUT a right hand screw driver - you can literally poke your screwdriver up through the holes that’s below each screw. If the driver is long and thin enough, it’ll reach the screws and get the job done 🤌🏾

Your video really helped me change out my nephew’s radio. Each step was exactly what I needed to see. We had never done this before and it went perfectly. Thank you for all your details and telling what tools you used. You’re awesome!!! A++++

I know this video is a couple years old but a few things to add, this is specifically for the automatic transmission models and that the wiring harness you used and linked in the description is not the same that is used for the 1997-1998 CRVs, appreciate the video, it was very helpful :)

You did a great job here. Good detail. But I think I'll just use my chainsaw removal tool to get mine out. Or maybe just get an old boombox for the back seat. Thanks again.

Hey man, thanks for making such a clear tutorial. I appreciate that you get right down to business and explain each step. I had to take apart this console to replace my cigarette lighter outlet and this tutorial made it really easy.

On the one hand, thank you very much for this video. It is helpful. On the other hand, Honda really makes this tough. I had to replace my battery which caused a code to come up on the radio. You can't get the radio to work without this code, which is located on the back of the radio that you find after you go through all of this to remove it. My local dealer wants $200 to do this for me, which is not worth it. Honda should do this for no charge. It is going to take me a lot of time to try and do this myself. I don't have all of the tools to get in there and remove it. And I am not sure if I will be able to get it all back together afterward. In any case, it is going to take several hours of my time to make this all work. very frustrating. Not sure if I am going to bother. Kind of stupid. Thanks Honda for making something so theft proof the owner can't use it. You must be the brains behind all IT functions.

I was able to get the radio serial number with some difficulty. Thanks to your video I got everything apart and put back together. Thank you so much! I am not an auto mechanic and while this is all doable, I never would have figured this out on my own. Quite a process!

I'm too late, but you can just pull the center vent out and look down on to the top of the stereo to get that stereo code. It takes about 5 minutes and pops right back in with no need for anything outside of a small prying tool of your choice.

@@johngoepel5263 That is a pro tip. Unfortunately in my case I pulled the vent and there was no sticker on top. But if there hadda been....

You don’t need a right angle screw driver to get the ash tray frame out there are holes on the bottom you can stick it straight through

Why everyone likes Hondas I will never know they make great engines but garbage transmissions & after watching this ridiculous waste of time just to replace a radio makes me never touch a Honda again I will just stick to Toyotas.Hondas are NOT even close to the quality of a Toyota!
