Great little mod and very easy to install. I will be ordering the Dreamcast USB Power Mod next.!! :)
Just installed one tonight. Was really easy apart from my barrel jack had the pins bent under the board and it wouldn't come out, ended up cutting the jack up, but that's fine and it works a treat, as always with anything from retrosix :)
Great work as always. Old nintendo stuff would be cool too. NES, SNES & N64 maybe?
Yep defo on my to-do list
Good work as usual have you any plans on doing a fm sound mod for the sms1?
TurboGrafx-16 needs one of these desperately. The power brick is so cumbersome being that it's in the middle of the cord.
Interesting. Great vid mate
Thanks
I just got the maste system one. Need to get a megadrive one haha. If you ever do a SNES one, i will be first in line lol. I am more than willing to do an honest review if you want to get in touch
Mega drive 2 out now, meg 1 soon. SNES will be up after that
Amazing😮
Thanks
id love to see nes/ famicom and hoefuly work on all regions. loving the look of these , seem super easy to install and very usefull.
gonna need the n64 one,perhaps a ps1 and i'll grab a dreamcast with them 👀
Yep Dreamcast done, SNES and N64 probably next
There better be a 60hz switch on that there PAL board.
Defo need these for the SNES and N64
SNES is probably up next
Clean stuff!
You're always coming up with some great quality of life mods. One of these for the original PlayStation would be awesome.
Regarding the Mega Drive 1 and 2 versions, are either of these compatible with the Multimega?
Good question. Very likely yes and no. I'll investigate the power system of multi mega and 32x and mega CD and make ones for those too
@@RetroSix that'll be brilliant. I'll keep an eye out for when they drop 🙂
@@RetroSix in ferrytail land but, would it even be possible to make some kind of external board to power all three components of the GENESIS/SEGA CD/32X tower of power? Something like the Wall Warts that have fast charging and go upwards of 100 watts of power? but, having 3 usb c ports each one labeled for the power required for each component. I think you know what I might mean. lol
Might have to get me some of these 😅👍
That's better built than the switch joycons. Lots of support so things don't tear off *cough cough*
Wow that’s is so cool and definitely worth doing.
Definitely. Done it for 6 consoles and counting. I plan to do it for all my own collection 😁
@@RetroSix I’ve just shared it with some big master system collectors and gamers
Much appreciated 👍
Years ago used my SMS with USB- A when regulator was broken :) bought it was dead!

Yep. And via single USB C cable. If enough demand I can invent the product
Excellent mod.
Thanks
Buenas tardes!! No haz hecho blueretro para sega mastersystem?
Nice mod.👍
when there out for the megadrive 2 I will order 1.
Is there going to be 1 for the mega cd to?
Yep mega cd to follow. Mega drives are in production so few more weeks
Will any future CleanPower boards be using USB PD for 9 V or 15 V input?
They already do. Dreamcast and Saturn so far and many more to come
That is quite simple indeed and amazing as (if my understanding is correct) any old phone charger outputting 5V will work?
Correct
@@RetroSix Wowza!
Do an S-Video mod for NES and Famicom Please
It has pure RGB so was planning that. I can convert RGB back to clean composite and S Video though as well
I see that you're offering a USB Power Kit for the Mega Drive Model 1, but it seems there are no guides / instructions on how to install it anywhere.
Can you help me install it or give me some info where the two patch wires go? (MD1) 😊
www.retrosix.wiki/mega-drive-2-cleanpower. Same as the MD2 then solder the white and red wire from original dc board onto USB board. White is ground, red is VCC
@@RetroSix Thanks for the reply. So on the MD1, there are two voltage regulators instead of one, like on the MD2. Do I just bridge the outside two pins on both of those regulators then?
Yes just bridge both
@@RetroSixit worked like a charm! Would like to do this to a model 2 of mine as well. Where would the leads need to be soldered there?
@@NoBody-pf2nv yep the link I sent shows model 2 install
nice mod
Thanks
Will this work if you don't remove the dc barrel jack?
Also, is this compatible with the Japanese Master System?
Yes to both
Sorry, just 2 more questions.
Can you use usb-c to usb-c power adapters?
How many amps do the Master system 2 UK and master system 1 Japanese version need? Is 1a each ok as I want to run both systems from a single double output power adapter with a total of 2.1a
@@doublenot yes you can use C to C. Uses an amp each, but you can run up to two consoles per CleanPower
Classic xbox would be cool. But it is probably not easy.
Yep I plan it. Night require the new USB standard for higher current but defo possible
Would it be possible to create a vertically-oriented USB-C power supply to fit the Atari 2600? It looks like there would be just enough space to make that work.
Yep I already retro fit one the other day. Will make official one soon
