My god, that is a lot of work, you are killing it. What I would like to see in the future is a consolidation of all this knowledge to a single board that can run real carts and ROMs from flash drive and perfectly replicate this legendary machine. I would pay premium for something like that.
Definitely. That would be pretty nice. FPGA hardware core for the LSPC and similar, and logic chips and RAM for the rest, with our own audio and AV circuits
Luke has said before that most of their views are on TikTok which is all portrait mode, they are just uploaded here for those of us who refuse to use that platform.
I've got an interesting one - the sound screams and pitch shifts, it's horrible. Replaced the YM2619 and the Z80, no dice. Can't find any bad traces and the board is super clean. Also full recap with no change, reflowed the cart connector etc
It's data related usually. I've seen it with poor connection between YM and the data bus. Also missing data pins can cause very different and random sound issues you would not expect
I absolutely love watching you work. You're knowledge is unmatched and that wiki is truly a gift to the retro hardware community
Thank you for sharing and explaining the fault diagnosis, you deserve way more followers
Well done! Very interesting. I've worked on some NEOGEO's and they never seem to be a straightforward repair.
So good of you to share all your knowledge with the world, so much work must have gone into the Wiki !!! have a great weekend brother.
Top marks! Top shelf! Always great work 🤘
Great job! Well done for the repair & not giving up on it, I love the AES
Fair play, such a great resource your wiki site is. We're always interested in seeing your work
Love the longer videos, amazing work as usual 👏
Fucking repair WIZARD.
Nice but landscape orientation needed.
Really enjoy the longer videos 😊
So impressive having a skill set like this.
Nice fault finding. Your a legend ❤

I wish you could record these in the wider orientation. I can't see shit of the schematics etc.

Do you stream fixing at all?
No not yet. Too many random offensive comments, coffee breaks and none PC jokes in our office 🤣
