@@andrewwagaman9 First opportunity I get once The Old World releases, I'm gonna buy a ton of Bretonnian models. Buying original GW Bretonnian models is outrageously expensive when you buy them second hand(I get why - they are fairly rare since GW doesn't produce them anymore so you are limited to buying expensive second hand models or substitutes, even more so when you want to buy the older Bretonnian models). There are ofc some really good substitute models out there that passes as Bretonnian knights and men at arms and whathaveyou. But this rerelease of The World That Was will be awesome. I have no doubt Bretonnia will be my first Warhammer Fantasy army to play with.
I've really missed Brettonians. They would make for another great underworlds warband. I really like how these models turned out, they add a new element to the old tomb kings aesthetic.
An interesting warband conversion would be a Warcry: Clan Skurvy Kitbash where the warband is pirate themed with pistols and the little normal rats sculpted like parrots and the Stormfeinds are deep sea divers that use ramshackle barrel technology instead of the advanced warpstone tech of clan Scryer, and slaver Packmasters. Bases could be beach or wood planks. If you wanted to make it AoS themed you could take an KO Ironclad and convert it to be Scaven looted and Warpstone powerd.
Have you seen the Pi'Rats by Punga? I have base pirate one and it's AMAZING. The Cursed Crew version has a Rat Ogor in Diving Suit that I want as well!
This makes me miss the tombs kings even more, but gives me inspiration to do the same with some Bonereapers I have on the building table. Also the Khonshu aspect makes it even better! 🤩
with the use of so many thousand sons bits, can we expect a kitbash of all the different cult leaders from the TS codex (pretty please)? aaand btw i think this video inspired me for my cultist kitbash
I love this so much, the "leader" model in particular. I have never played the tomb kings, but as a thousand sons and necrons player i can appreciate the asthetics.
Absolutely sweet. Great to see some alternatives to official models. Might try this out while I wait for The Old World to come out and when I can finally get Tomb Kings model again by the time I'm 60
I've had a warband idea in my backlog for quite a while now: Some classic knights. I want to use stormcast as a base but switch out the stormcast-specific stuff like helmets and iconography. And I want to make them heraldry-heavy, shields and flags with classic heraldry on it. One could even go in a Bretonnia-direction.
Can't wait for Warhammer the Old World to bring back the Tomb Kings. They were my very first Warhammer army and that Egyptian look really worked for skeletons. Great work on the conversion!
Lovely conversions, always love your videos. It would have been really cool to see all together in one image, but really good to have the extended view of each of them.
Would love to see you tackle some of the weird and wonderful things from the old Ork Freebooterz lists - Ork-Genestealer Hybrids, Cyborks, Squig Brained Orks etc
On Helmar I was thinking you would cut off the top of the old helmet front and the bottom of the face on the new helmet so we could see some of the skull underneath. Also next time you need to do a desert base consider trying gel superglue with small pieces of egg shell then dump on baking soda it makes an amazing desert base where the rapid drying of the gel superglue turns in ripples with what looks like broken pottery in it and the smaller scale of the grit makes a very convincing in scale sand texture.
Pete, ik you get so much appraisal and support for your amazing conversion but godamn you never fail to interest me with every video, no matter how simple or difficult your conversions i godamn love them all ❤️ my fave hobby ytber for sure
Great work as ever! Would love to see you try some of the expanded Lustria armies from way back. Either the Chaos Marauders of Skeggi or the pirates of the Vampire Coast. Or both. Yeah, better go both
Great video, now I know what extreme highlights are and where they go plus I also now know theres a total war game missing from my total war collection, thanks for that also.
Something I'd love to see in the future would be a total conversion of a modern miniature into Aekold Helbrass, including the prismatic look of his armour and a base bursting with plantlife.
Fuck it, I'm doing this, I love my undead force. I am praying to all the gods that they bring the Sphinx kit back - it's a kit I loved as a kid, but never got and by the time I had money, it was no longer in stock (i refuse ebay prices)
Really well done conversions, love me some Tomb Kings! I still own a small collection of them, my prize being a metal screaming skull catapult, that's some heavy duty classic metal miniature goodness right there. The paint jobs are great as well, but I do have one criticism, I wouldn't add a matte varnish over metallic parts, it dulls them down and defeats the purpose of metallic paints. I always paint everything else than the metallic parts first, then matte varnish the whole thing and then add the metals. I use Vallejo Metal Colors, those are so tough that they don't need any varnish to protect those parts. I also disagree about having to change out your wet palette paper and water after having metallic paints on it, I've never had any "contamination" of those metallic chips from the metal paints onto the wet palette water or especially the other paints. I use the Redgrass Games wet palette as well, it's totally fine to use metallic paints with their paper on the palette with other paints, no fuss!
Really like these kinds of conversions, what makes it cooler is that old world announced the Tomb kings and I got excited that hopefully when it's officially launched there'll be new plastic kits :)
Tomb Kings are a perfect example of:
“You dont know how much you like something until its gone”
Lets face it this is true of Fantasy as a whole setting and game system

As I'm not a huge gamer, it was a shame to lose a lot of cool kits simply because the game system they were tied to had started to become stagnant.
The work on that fur cloak being sculpted into cloth was amazing.
I blown away by that part. I had never considered just carving into plastic as another sculpting tool

Glad you mentioned the different blades besides, the well known curved Khopesh. Since the egypts actually had quite a variety of weapons.
The surprising thing I found was how fond the Egyptians were of two-handed great axes.
