I never understood why people act like a pet dying is something you shouldn't be that upset about. If you've living with an animal for YEARS, they're your friend and you love them like they're your family. It can be just as painful as losing a human friend or family member.

Honestly I feel this so much. Two of my dogs passed away in the same year, only a few months apart. One from cancer and the other from seizures in old age. It was, I think, back in 2019, so about 5 or so years ago. They literally came into my mind the other day randomly and I started bawling my eyes out. Every now and I just get this wave of sadness that they are gone. It hurts. It really fucking hurts. People who say "why are you so sad its just a dog" don't understand. Its not just a dog, its a member of your family.

I've seen your channel but I haven't watched your content before. However, as someone who has also lost their dog recently, I feel your pain. I'm still grieving his death and I don't think I'll get over it for at least a few years. I assisted in my dog's birth so he was the closest thing I've had to a son. Take your time man, may her soul rest in peace.
we've all been there man it sucks so bad but it all gets better best thing to do is to celebrate the time we've spent with them people, animals, friends, family. just think about the happiness they gave you and then take lessons from them on how they made you happy and how they did that for you and try to do the same for others and hope you give good tips too!

This is exactly how I felt after losing my pug. He was 13 or 15 and he was just suffering, and we didn’t want him to hurt anymore. So seeing Dan cry, just made me cry as well.

At least you have spent the time with them. Everything in life comes to an end eventually. It is better to have lived, loved, and lost than to have never loved at all. It will always hurt. I have farm animals and even personal pets I have had to personally put down, its never easy. Making that choice always hurts. Do not spend to much time being sad and self obsessed with your own emotions. Take the time you need to recover. Then be happy that you were lucky enough to have been there. Be grateful that you where there until the end to see them off. I cant imagine anything better than to be surrounded by the people i love at the end of my journey. Dan is probably one of the most genuine TH-camrs I’ve ever watched, and the fact that he still makes videos to this day despite the hardships he’s been through is a testament to how great of a person he is and how much he cares about his audience.

It’s crazy that I watched DanTDM during my elementary school days (specifically during 3-5th grade), and now while I’m posting this I recently and officially graduated from high school and am heading towards college but I will never forget about DanTDM as well as Stampy who are two Minecraft TH-camrs who managed to keep a clean image and stay out of controversy and focus on their own lives but also I’m sorry to hear about DanTDM’s loss I unfortunately know what’s like for your dog to pass away due to me having experienced it and people who own pets like dogs or cats will unfortunately have to go through that same pain and pets aren’t just there for to live in your house but will also become part of your family and you will soon become attached to them 😢

Whenever something traumatizing or horrible happens I just zoom out and think about how all over the world, something equally bad or worse was experienced by hundreds of thousands of people that day and suddenly it doesn’t seem so bad knowing the experience of tragedy of life is shared by me and all these other people and many more to come in the following week.
Seeing a usually cheerful person like Dan cry will drive a grown man to tears. Every time I see a video talking about one of the dogs' deaths, a little part of me dies with him, I watched a lot of his videos growing up and remember loving to see his dogs, so seeing one of them die broke my heart, after seeing those videos, I just wanted to give Dan a big hug, he's like a second father to me
I have been there watching his videos since I was really young. Seeing this now really feels more heavy than I could ever imagine. It's because of the dogs, and it makes me remember when everything was better... when I was happy. I remember his videos always putting a smile on my face. I miss things the way they use to be...

Damn, this gave me chills. Dan is one of my brothers absolute favorite TH-camrs and one of mine as well. This just hit different cause I know my brother watched him to feel happy when our lives were pretty shitty. It's hard to see Dan sad when he is just such a positive person.

I’m not trying to be “psychology poppy” whatever that even means, but from my experience (or I guess you can argue lack thereof in that case); I’ve seen people feel su1sidal after just losing a bunch of money, and I genuinely can’t help but be like.. you’re gonna end your whole life over something that I don’t even have at all? (I’m talking ppl losing $100k and only left with $2k).. while I’m here thriving on $2k on the daily basis with no depression. This actually hurts. I grew up watching Dan and although for the quite a few years I didn’t really watch him at all I respected him as a person and a content creator. He is genuine and made the early years of my life extremely enjoyable. I was like 8-9 when I started to watch him I’m now 19. The “you guys aren’t kids anymore” truly hits hard when you sit for a minute and think about it. Time flies
It was so hard watching this, Dan has basically been like a second father to me, and I’m not the oldest, but I figured out Dan when I was about three, when he started youtube in 2014, and it was when my sisters and I first started watching TH-cam, so I would watch Dan 24/7. Dan has and always will be my favorite TH-camr, and he’s helped me get through so much in my life. I was there for all of these events, and Dan has raised millions of children. I lost my beloved cat Lizzy this year and when I did I thought of Ellie and Peggy. All of our beloved dead ones, fly high. Love you all, have an amazing rest of your life ❤️
I’ve watched this 5 times, and it just hurts more and more because Dan was my childhood all the way. The world wouldve been worse without him. And it just hurts so much to see him cry so much so that I currently am.

My dog is 9 years old in human age, and hes a Golden Retriever, he has saved me from though situations, did a kind of barrier to stop me from falling when i fell down the stairs once, and made me happy with his silly lil smile when i was sad, im very happy hes with me and i hope this stays like that for years. As an owner that can't stop thinking about his dog, i trully understand the pain in DantDm's eyes. Rest in peace Ellie, we hope you fly high and proud.

Hey, i want you to know i know exactly how youre feeling. The pain and saddness over this. My cat passed away 2 years ago, i had him all my life and he passed at 25 years old over a few days i saw the signs. I cried for so many days over it, like losing my best friend. Know that in time things will get better but the first while it will be hard. All the little things you did with them will be gone, mourn them and grieve. Most importantly, find closure with them and yourself. Talk to friends and family, at least once a in a while, having others listen helps. And remember, it's ok to get another friend and companion, just as long as you know you're ready. Stay strong!

I feel you deeply man, I lost my Jack Russel Terrier Jasmine in March of 2022 and it took me quite a long time to move past her death. The tendons in her legs started to give out so she could barely walk anymore, and on top of that she developed cancer. The day of her vet appointment I woke up in the morning with her in bed with me and I felt my heart sink deeper than ever in that moment. It was the last time that would ever happen. Her injuries were bad, her pain was bad, and the vet told me that although it is entirely my decision, her time has come. I stayed with her until the very end and heared her gasp her final breath. Yeah she was just a dog, and her life does not equate to that of a persons, but she most certainly was a part of my family, and without her my family felt incomplete. I don't have a wife or kids, just me and my dad, so losing Jasmine made me feel more alone than I ever have in my entire life. It really is remarkable how valuable the companionship of a dog can be, you can develop a relationship stronger with them than most people. Take your time man, it took me two years to overcome my loneliness and grief, but you'll learn to cherish the good times, and that will be enough to move on.

At least you have spent the time with them. Everything in life comes to an end eventually. It is better to have lived, loved, and lost than to have never loved at all. It will always hurt. I have farm animals and even personal pets I have had to personally put down, its never easy. Making that choice always hurts. Do not spend to much time being sad and self obsessed with your own emotions. Take the time you need to recover. Then be happy that you were lucky enough to have been there. Be grateful that you where there until the end to see them off. I cant imagine anything better than to be surrounded by the people i love at the end of my journey. You should take some small pride in being strong enough to be there in tough times. Take care bro.

Dan is probably one of the most genuine TH-camrs I’ve ever watched, and the fact that he still makes videos to this day despite the hardships he’s been through is a testament to how great of a person he is and how much he cares about his audience.

It’s crazy that I watched DanTDM during my elementary school days (specifically during 3-5th grade), and now while I’m posting this I recently and officially graduated from high school and am heading towards college but I will never forget about DanTDM as well as Stampy who are two Minecraft TH-camrs who managed to keep a clean image and stay out of controversy and focus on their own lives but also I’m sorry to hear about DanTDM’s loss I unfortunately know what’s like for your dog to pass away due to me having experienced it and people who own pets like dogs or cats will unfortunately have to go through that same pain and pets aren’t just there for to live in your house but will also become part of your family and you will soon become attached to them 😢

Whenever something traumatizing or horrible happens I just zoom out and think about how all over the world, something equally bad or worse was experienced by hundreds of thousands of people that day and suddenly it doesn’t seem so bad knowing the experience of tragedy of life is shared by me and all these other people and many more to come in the following week.

Seeing a usually cheerful person like Dan cry will drive a grown man to tears. Every time I see a video talking about one of the dogs' deaths, a little part of me dies with him, I watched a lot of his videos growing up and remember loving to see his dogs, so seeing one of them die broke my heart, after seeing those videos, I just wanted to give Dan a big hug, he's like a second father to me
I have been there watching his videos since I was really young. Seeing this now really feels more heavy than I could ever imagine. It's because of the dogs, and it makes me remember when everything was better... when I was happy. I remember his videos always putting a smile on my face. I miss things the way they use to be...

You’ve just lost a friend that created the funniest and most adorable memories, a friend that loved you and never judged you, a friend that you can go back home to that will be happy to see you again every day. Damn, this gave me chills. Dan is one of my brothers absolute favorite TH-camrs and one of mine as well. This just hit different cause I know my brother watched him to feel happy when our lives were pretty shitty. It's hard to see Dan sad when he is just such a positive person.

I’m not trying to be “psychology poppy” whatever that even means, but from my experience (or I guess you can argue lack thereof in that case); I’ve seen people feel su1sidal after just losing a bunch of money, and I genuinely can’t help but be like.. you’re gonna end your whole life over something that I don’t even have at all? (I’m talking ppl losing $100k and only left with $2k).. while I’m here thriving on $2k on the daily basis with no depression.
Again, I can’t help it but find it either “ungrateful” if we’re going that route, or just not knowing what to do after that loss. Although I haven’t lost a relative very close to me yet thankfully, so idk if depression from that is any different? I know I sound like a total unsympathetic sh!thead after that, but I’m just saying from my perspective.. you have no right ending yourself when there are people thriving for 60+ years with way less luxury than the su1sidal their whole life. In MY humble opinion anyway.
People act like su1sidal thoughts are inevitable and it’s only a matter of whether they get to you or not, almost like a wave.. yeah that’s bs if you ask me. You can fix yourself for good, and I don’t need the word “expert” under my name to say this. Be religious or something, have some purpose (even if you think it’s delusional). I know religion helped me not be depressed in the first place, I believe my grandma is happy up there, I believe God is with me and it’s the reason I’m still thriving on $2k.. and why is it you think that homeless people are still on the streets and not a skeleton under the bridge? They all say “God bless you” after you give them a donation, they’re all religious for one.

This actually hurts. I grew up watching Dan and although for the quite a few years I didn’t really watch him at all I respected him as a person and a content creator. He is genuine and made the early years of my life extremely enjoyable. I was like 8-9 when I started to watch him I’m now 19. The “you guys aren’t kids anymore” truly hits hard when you sit for a minute and think about it. Time flies
It was so hard watching this, Dan has basically been like a second father to me, and I’m not the oldest, but I figured out Dan when I was about three, when he started youtube in 2014, and it was when my sisters and I first started watching TH-cam, so I would watch Dan 24/7. Dan has and always will be my favorite TH-camr, and he’s helped me get through so much in my life. I was there for all of these events, and Dan has raised millions of children. I lost my beloved cat Lizzy this year and when I did I thought of Ellie and Peggy. All of our beloved dead ones, fly high. Love you all, have an amazing rest of your life ❤️

My dog is 9 years old in human age, and hes a Golden Retriever, he has saved me from though situations, did a kind of barrier to stop me from falling when i fell down the stairs once, and made me happy with his silly lil smile when i was sad, im very happy hes with me and i hope this stays like that for years. As an owner that can't stop thinking about his dog, i trully understand the pain in DantDm's eyes. Rest in peace Ellie, we hope you fly high and proud.

Hey, i want you to know i know exactly how youre feeling. The pain and saddness over this. My cat passed away 2 years ago, i had him all my life and he passed at 25 years old over a few days i saw the signs. I cried for so many days over it, like losing my best friend.
Know that in time things will get better but the first while it will be hard. All the little things you did with them will be gone, mourn them and grieve.
Most importantly, find closure with them and yourself. Talk to friends and family, at least once a in a while, having others listen helps.
And remember, it's ok to get another friend and companion, just as long as you know you're ready. Stay strong!
we grew up. dan helped us grow up and it hurts your heart seeing him cry. whenever your a fan of his or not , its depressing to your soul to see him crying like that. its like seeing your own father cry.

I feel you deeply man, I lost my Jack Russel Terrier Jasmine in March of 2022 and it took me quite a long time to move past her death. The tendons in her legs started to give out so she could barely walk anymore, and on top of that she developed cancer. The day of her vet appointment I woke up in the morning with her in bed with me and I felt my heart sink deeper than ever in that moment. It was the last time that would ever happen. Her injuries were bad, her pain was bad, and the vet told me that although it is entirely my decision, her time has come. I stayed with her until the very end and heared her gasp her final breath.
Yeah she was just a dog, and her life does not equate to that of a persons, but she most certainly was a part of my family, and without her my family felt incomplete.
I don't have a wife or kids, just me and my dad, so losing Jasmine made me feel more alone than I ever have in my entire life. It really is remarkable how valuable the companionship of a dog can be, you can develop a relationship stronger with them than most people.
Take your time man, it took me two years to overcome my loneliness and grief, but you'll learn to cherish the good times, and that will be enough to move on.
I’m not the person in the video that’s DanTDM, but either way I know how hard it is to for a pet to just not be apart of your life anymore after being there for years. It’s the same as losing a family member. Rest In Peace your Dog 🕊️

Everyone's getting older and everything we had as kids just kinda dissappears as we go and it's such a horrible feeling but just be happy we were able to experience it and stay with the memories instead of never having been there at all
