    I find it oddly heartwarming to see that a man capable of building these fantastic machines is also juvenile enough to install a backfire switch on an eight litre V10 bike.

    • @woopimagpie
      @woopimagpie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@SGTDuckButter Wait for the next video, perhaps Allen will be kind enough to fill us in. I'd guess it's some sort of method by which unburned fuel is allowed to find its way into the exhaust and is ignited there by the heat of the pipe, or perhaps a deliberate mis-timing, or both. Terrifically mischievous device at any rate.
      It puts me in mind of the "bang-bang" anti-lag systems used by some rally cars to keep their turbos spinning - I have a clever mate who researched how it was done and built a home made version of the same thing on his turbo Lancer some years back. He did it for fun more than anything, although he claimed it did actually work at reducing turbo lag as well. The crackling and popping and banging sounded wicked. One unexpected and unfortunate result was that it quickly destroyed the exhaust system! The dump pipe and pre cat length of pipe did not handle continual fuel detonations for very long, and nor did the cat. It was ridiculous fun, although his neighbours must surely not have agreed. We certainly heard him coming, that's for sure.
      Hopefully Allen has engineered a way around the exhaust system destruction. Like you I'd be very interested to know how exactly he's done it, especially given it has no turbo.

What you proved in that few seconds probably took NASA 10 yrs and a billion dollars to achieve, I was rolling about laughing. Allen there's too many things about the Viper V10 bike to mention, the ratchet stand, the forks, brakes and soforth, suffice to say it is a masterpiece of thought and engineering you can be very proud of, I would imagine it's capable of scaring even the most experienced of motorcycle testers with its brute force and weight. Thank you mate for taking the time then sharing it with us, proper British shed building at its very best. Roll on part 2. Cheers, Alex.

    I thought putting a huge engine into a vehicle much smaller than the one that that the engine originally came in was supposed to be a thing you just joke about with your friends. "Haha imagine putting a this engine in a that!" But this guy's actually done it the absolute madman.

    Absolutely brilliant Allen, what an amazing machine you have created and I love all the novel solutions you came up with to the various issues you encountered - I particularly like that backfire switch! Having seen the bike close up for real I know the quality of the bike is top notch which makes that fuel tank construction even more incredible. Looking forward to the next video of this beast on the loose, my question for the next episode is around how you handle such massive torque when riding?? - I assume you haven't included traction control?? ...or have you? All the best mate - keep 'em coming!

      @@TheMissendenFlyer A man from a Workshop recently did a vid about Allen Millyard, not exactly complementary. I know Allan Millyard is too much a gentleman to respond to his video and his opinion of him.
      One of the commenters Pallecia challenged the man from the Workshop to a build off with Allan Millyard, and the man from The Workshop accepted.
      I reckon Allen Millyard wouldn't respond or accept this challenge, therefore, I challenged the man from The Workshop to build something, "anything" to compete with Allen Millyard, OR complete any project he has already started, better still I challenged him to build anything better or equal to anything Delboy has built who he hates and has berated for a few years.
      I'm ok if neither you nor Allen responds to this comment knowing the aggression this guy has towards other channels.

    Sometimes when I watch these, I almost feel like I'm being put on, some of this stuff is engineering that a major automotive corporation would struggle with and Allen just thought it up out of his head and made it work mostly making the parts himself. This bike is amazing. But all his stuff is amazing. And it all looks so finished.

    I've seen the concentric swingarm pivot/output sprocket on a few MTBs before. To eliminate chain tension variance throughout the stroke.
    Clever to incorporate it here. Looking at pictures, i previously thought you had used 50mm Marzocchi forks, impressive to see they're even beefier and home made!

      @Matthew Lund Saves you running a tensioner i guess also? First time i ever noticed the concentric BB/Pivot was on a Cove G-Spot (2000 ish?) although the idea may go back way further than that.

    What an amazing motorcycle you have made seeing it reminded me of two great kiwis, who whilst they were alive were also shed dwellers. One was John Britton the other was Burt Munroe, who took an old 55mph Indian Scout and made it into a 200mph plus record breaker.
    Its very good to know there are still very creative skilled motorcycle builders out there.
