After the 137th death from the same enemy I kinda loose all interest and fun and never touch the game again. But I do like the lore of the world and enjoy watching letsplays. @@Neboveria Dark souls is about mastering mechanics first, then learning how enemies attack. Every enemy has a windup for every attack, it's just about noticing the windup and placing yourself where the enemy wont be
I’m a 40 year old who rarely finds game time anymore, except for 20ish minutes before I pass out sleeping at night, maybe. I’m not a great gamer, I get my ass kicked online quite often. Those things said... Souls games are the ONLY thing I play besides Minecraft. Most enjoyable games I’ve ever played, and I’ve been in the game since Pitfall and Pole Position. No reason a busy adult should shy away from these games.

I don't understand why people love bloodborne. It is an average game. 50% of it was forgettable. I mean come on 10 minutes worth of cutscenes, little production values, and no explanations. The first Dark Souls is one of the greatest games ever made, and my personal favorite game of all time after almost 30 years of gaming. Ds2 and 3 are both great in their own ways as well. Bloodborne was yet another masterpiece, and just continued the trend of immensely creative, original, and simply just excellent games from Fromsoftware. That is why everyone is so hyped for this game. A new Fromsoft game is like Christmas to us Chosen Ones/Cursed Undead/Ashen Ones/Hunters. The last of us and GoW, while both amazing games in their own ways... But nowhere near the level the Souls series and Bloodborne are on

More character development and story in games I played 20 years ago like mgs remade on the FIRST PLAYSTATION for instance lol. Forgettable game. Took me well over 30 tries to get past the bloodstarved beast for example and what was I granted for all my hardwork and frustration? I earned a 14 second cutscene of vagueness and my character had nothing to add? Come on...zero explanations in that game. Not even a training area for crying out loud Assassins creed has one of those things at least...anyway the game looked pretty and the combat was fine but the other 90% of the game was archaic in design at best. Also way too many rpg elements for a game that totes itself to be an action game. And for the millionth time what is a frenzy meter and why do I only take one hit from every enemy in that game and have to start over The checkpoint system was irritating at best that enemies all respawn but the items you use or weapon durability is not reset but everything the enemies use or do is? That makes absolutely zero sense and what's more is the game Doesn't tell you ANYTHING. It Doesn't even tell you how to equip your weapons I found that out by accident like when I was 7 playing my first rental game and there was no manual and I had to just mess with a the buttons. That is Inexcusable and really just lazy to think that's okay in a modern videogame...

My goal when I buy a game is 25-30 hours to beat and I'm thrilled. The days of Caring about trophies and finding all the secrets go out the window when you hit 30 years of age lol.
