    Chris Paul played the best in that series out of everybody. He’s the only one on that team who is blameless in their loss.

      I mean he’s had lots of untimely injuries. Not quite his fault per se but maybe he could have trained differently or something. I think he’s said recently he’s figured out how to stay healthy more in the least few years. That series was insane though. Probably the played at the highest level through 5 games of any series I’ve ever seen. Those two teams were so good.

      @Simon Kebede harden literally shot 23% from the field in game 5, when Chris Paul carried the rockets to the win. Then in game 7 he shot 15% from three and 41% from the field. He was inefficient throughout the series

    that Houston team super surprised me. I thought Golden State was unbeatable, and then to see what seemed like their inevitable defeat was intense. Then, to see the injuries and everything completely derail things for the Rockets. And then for Houston to completely fall apart that next year and never be the same... I've never seen anything quite like it

    Man was playing with a vengeance that series, he was willing them past the most stacked team in history. It was amazing to see. That was probably the worst timed injury in history. Had he been there for Game 6 or 7 those leads would've been a lot easier to keep for them. They still only lost by 9 in Game 7 despite that 3 point meltdown. Chris Paul can make up for 9 points idc what anyone says. They had the warriors on the ropes. And no, 2019 is not an excuse to say they wouldn't have won either. 2 different years two different teams

    Ppl forget that Iggy didnt play in the last 4 games either. GSW were up 2-1 at that time. And he was a big contributer, especially guarding Harden. So if both teams were fully healthy i dont see it going 7 games anyways. It took golden state those last 2 losses to adjust to him being gone due to crunch time lineups and matchups so no excuses

      You can imagine if the rockets won but they didn't lose because CP3 got injured. The rockets lost to the warriors in game 3 with chris paul in the lineup by 41 points. And with CP3's track record, he wouldn't have stayed healthy for the CAV's series and harden would have chocked, yet again.

    If I were Chris that would weigh on my mind every day. I think it was a career defining moment for him in terms of his success in the NBA. He will never win a championship in Phoenix and he knows it.. I think we all would’ve liked to see Houston vs Cavs matchup that year instead of the GS juggernaut that everyone knew was going to win. Even if the Rockets made it to the finals they’d at least be known for taking out the KD Steph juggernaut

The splash bros made a dynasty regardless.The warriors without kd finished off cp3 and the rocksts in 6 games and ended Houstons season in Houston with kd in street clothes.

    Same thing happened to Barkley, AI, Reggie, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, Mullin, Nash, GHill, T-Mac, Vince even Penny, Yao and Kemp (who were MVP contenders for a few seasons). All these guys had huge contracts, superstar status, were fan favorites and MVP's or MVP contenders but they all failed to win an NBA championship.

    Watching Chris play, I noticed a lot of his injuries have come due to him trying to sell a foul in some way. Whether it's a leg kick out to get the "and one" or it's him locking legs with another player to draw the ref's attention for the foul call. I need to go back and watch to be sure but; does anyone else notice this?

    Him getting hurt will always be a sore. I’m convinced we woulda won if he didn’t get hurt...but we’ll never know. The team next year wasn’t nearly as good. 2018-2019 Rockets didn’t stand a chance, 2017-2018 Rockets were right there. So close

      But the next year they lost in 6 with the KD getting injured. Plus that style was good for playing GS, not a big and physical team like the Lakers.

They should have added the mid range back into their offense and move the ball around more. They didnt take advantage like they should have.

    Has to be mentioned, that injury completely changed the landscape of NBA, history, how it will be viewed... they probably win that with Paul.
    Now the Rockets could be champs, Harden and Paul are winners, both probably stay together for the foreseeable future, but thats another thing.. the small ball experiment worked. Morey is a HERO.
    GSW? Failed. 1 chip in 3 years, with THAT team?!
    Would be looked back on as a failure.
    KD's stock would sink A LOT.
    And they had them. They did it all right. They had GSW pinned and cornered...
