    So much of today's basketball commentary is "who's the best, who's the goat"....stuff is old as hell, these are the real things I want to hear about. Players experiences, playing against other guys, the behind the scenes type knowledge and things that go on. Good Job on the podcast, keep it going!

    JJ Reddick single handedly saving the league, giving players a comfortable & non biased environment to actually be themselves. The media is so fake and this feels very candid. So thankyou JJ. @@Jakob-W I loved this type of content because the interview feels like a real conversation between them. For me I first saw it from Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson the name of the pod is "All the smoke" they had tons of NBA players already old and current, they also take on other personalities like coaches/media/other sport persons. They've also had Kobe as well which was a special episode. Just hope these podcasts be more mainstream instead of the typical headline media stuff which does not even talk about basketball. Also just to add Draymond Green also has his own show which he uploads often even during these playoffs.

      @eduardobranco8349 2 ปีที่แล้ว +173

      @@manuelr1079 a 2 for 1 is when you shoot at around 35 seconds to end the quarter. That way you always gets the last shot, doesn't matter how fast the opposing team shoots it. Meaning you shoot twice and the other team shoots once.
      A 3 for 2 is when you shoot at around the 1 minute mark, trying to guarantee the 2 for 1.
      So if you shoot and defense gets possession at 01:05 and shoot 8 seconds later, you have 57 seconds left on the clock, at which point you can run it until 35 seconds to get the 2 for 1. If the opposite team takes their times and run out the shot clock (65-24=41), you still have about 6 seconds to get a quick shot for the 2 for 1. The odds are you will most likely get the 2 for 1 in this specific case, and that's a win for your team, because even if the 2 shots are rushed, the extra shot is more valuable

    I love him recognizing the international game. It aint like 92 anymore. Dudes overseas can ball. There are some dynamics to that, different ruleser, different ball, different court, guys playing together for a few weeks vs guys who play together for years. But no excuses and all praise to those international teams. Its been so good for basketball and the NBA to see this international shift, where we (USA) cant just show up and win. I love it, its so fun and so great for the game I love. People talk crazy and go back n forth, but every USA basketball fan should appreciate and recognize how good the global basketball teams really are. You got HOF dudes like 8 or 9 of them on a team and theyre getting pressed to the max. Thats honestly amazing and beautiful. Some of those Argentina teams are my favorite to watch. The ability to play pure basketball and fundamental and challenge guys like KD who was arguably the best player in the world at times or at least 2nd best. Thats just awesome.

    Manipulating the games in those little ways is what separates good players from great players. Also, I can’t stand old heads that try to say this generation can’t compete with previous ones. Players now are light years ahead.

  • @MOG9850
    @MOG9850 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think JJ was laughing because the strategy sounds goofy and I doubted it too but the math checks out. A two for one gives gives a team 66.6% of the last 3 possessions. A three for two gives a team the ball 60% of the last 5 possessions. If it was a tight game down the stretch it could make a difference between winning and losing.

  • @ryancallaway4901

    I don’t buy the 3 for 2 because all the other team needs to do is quickly shoot it again and it becomes a game of controlling shot time. only eight before the final 24 seconds can you control the clock and shot timing. If that makes sense.

      @@BlueHundred1 no he needs to learn how to play basketball his skill set works in one on one but ina team game he is a liability on the court on offense, i havent been paying attention to his defense is he good on tht end? And yea his decision making is awful thts why other players on the rockets are getting his minutes (edit: if he works on his overall game and becomes a better playmaker/just not a selfish shot chucker, he has all the tools to be great i agree with u on that.)
