Hi Coach and Mrs Coach,I was at this concert at Milton Keynes the Bowl there was about 50,000 people there ,i had the fortune to see them live 6 times from 1977 until 1984 i couldnt make the 1986 concert at Wembley as I was getting married ,they was undoubtedly the best live band ever
Are you saying that you preferred to get married instead of going to Wembley '86???? 😁
Awesome you got to see them live that many times!
You lucky man!! I never got to see them live as it was just before my time.... Did see Roger live on his happiness tour in '94 though.... Awesome gig! 👍😎
@@CarlosDG77 wish I,d gone to Wembley as the marriage did last long😅
😂@@daveharrison3635
I was there that night, aged 16, finally seeing Queen live.
Oh, that's awesome!
Me too
"Spread your wings" is a little gem.....

There's an entire album with the Flash soundtrack, Flash Gordon.
There's also another album "A kind of magic", which is the soundtrack of the movie Highlander. The vilain's song, called "Gimme the prize", is one of hardest Queen songs and the craziest Freddie's vocals ever.
I always smile to myself when I watch the beginning of this concert, as it's a case of intro, intro, intro, intro...boom, here's Freddie!
I love it when Queen do rock, I think this is what they were born to do, then Freddie sings a ballad and I just melt and think Freddie can sing anything and it’s brilliant.
They can do anything, and it appears they have. But Coach agrees...their rocking is awesome!
'Rock You' is so distinctive because of the stomps and claps, the slow guitar solo, the beat, the rhythm... and here they are, taking all of those details away and still making it unique and making sure the audience will still enjoy every second of it.
True artistry on display!
YEAH
YEAH
YEAH
YEAH
ABSOLUTLEY POWERFUL
Freddie on FIRE!!!.
Queen 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Queen wrote the soundtrack for the movie flash.....hero is the last track on that album
From the first seconds of their performance you feel incredible positive energy and mood. Power. Nobody has that kind of influence.
It's a great opener to a show to get the people moving.
Agreed!
This concert is one of my all time favorites!! Especially when they perform Somebody To Love!!❤️🤍❤️🤍❤️
A great way to start a concert! I read at the weekend that Queen are preparing to sell their back catalogue for $1.2 billion!
They would generally do both versions at their shows, the regular version, Brian wrote for crowd participation, this one has opened the show many times. Great reaction!!!!
For a while, the band found it strange to use a song called We Will Rock You to close the shows, so Brian May created a more energetic version to use it at the beginning and keeping the classic version at the end. Queen composed the instrumental soundtrack for Flash Gordon (1980), with just two songs: Flash's Theme - released as a single as Flash - and The Hero. In 1986, the band returned to composing for cinema, but this time, they were responsible for the songs for the film Highlander, from which classics such as A Kind of Magic and Who Wants to Live Forever emerged.
The three life versions of Who wants to live forever are perfect and with little diferences. So why are they perfects? :D I can't choose what is better. I edit: the fourth, with Adam Lamber is amazing.
Get well soon Coach! And Thank you for your great reaction. Love Freddie and the concert!!
Thanks. Doing better now. Appreciate you!
Great choice! That concert was realy something! I suggest (again and again) Wembley 1986 medley In the lap of the Gods, Seven seas of Rhye, Tear it up, or One vision & Tie your mother down. You won't regret it!
This is a great choice, I have requested it as well in the past
Queen are a unique band like no other!
Good reaction video guys thanks.
at the beginning, he must have been having microphone issues..and had to use the regular microphone...you can see him tapping on the regular mic to turn it up! when you watch it about a 1000 times like some of us have, you start to notice EVEYTHING!! 🤣 feel better soon!
Thank you!
yes!!! I love your reactions! Keep the Queen songs coming!!
Thanks for watching!
I have this concert on video, Live at the Bowl is epic, a really great concert. I never got to see them live so only have some of their iconic concerts on video to compensate. Queen were so good live as they could change and switch up many of their songs for live performances as that's what made them so great. Never had the same show or song performed twice in the same way.
Good afternoon Coach and Mrs Coach, just some trivia for you both : The album " queen greatest hits 1 " is the biggest selling album of all time in the United Kingdom, overtaking " sergeant peppers lonely heart club band " by the beatles about 10 years ago.
I love your content and have 19 queen albums , so any questions you may have , I would only be too happy to answer as you both immerse yourselves into the magic of the band.
Steve x
Thank you so much. We only heard their radio hits from the '80s for the most part before starting this channel, so most all of their stuff is new to us. It's been a fun journey so far and we appreciate you coming along with us!
Yes !
This WWRY fast version was used to open shows at times and really delivered the energy to the crowd. I hope you feel better soon, Coach.
Thank you! Feeling better already.
Brain May wrote "We will Rock You". He and his father built his guitar prior to Queen. After Freddie died, he was encouraged to complete his education. So he completed his thesis and was awarded his Doctorate in Astrophysics. He has active in the world of Astrophysics including working with NASA!!
An Asteroid has been named for him, brainmay.
Still waiting on Nemophila "Seize the Fate" and Lovebites "Hammer of Wrath"
I remember so the we will rock you bit at the Forum in L.A. in '77. You could feel the building shaking 😆
Wow!
Flash into The hero intro. Mic standard for the hero, changed to radio mic for we will rock you, if you look carefully you can see Freddie telling sound tech he’s not happy with it. When all this is going on and you don’t notice, you are dealing with a pro. I was at this show, it was excellent, heart were one of the support bands they were & are great too.
Heart is great!
❤❤ nice reaction both of you.. Love love
Thank you so much 😁
1982 @ Milton Keynes bowl
Queen out there doing a Remix before Remix had been mixed the first time. 😄
I'd heard so many times that Freddie was a stage presence phenom, and I believed them.
But the more I see, the more I KNOW it, rather than believe other people. (Big difference.)
Can't argue with the eyes.
Please listen to the acoustic section from live at Wembley. It's a smaller arrangement about 7-13 minutes where they just play some classic rock songs and it's awesome. It has you're so square(baby I don't care), hello may lou, and tutti frutti. It's definitely my favorite part of the whole concert!
Good catch on the mic stand, Mrs. Coach!!!!
Thank you Coach and Mrs.Coach.....in no particular order...John got a chance to shine....Queen always surprises with the switching of tempo of their songs....Queen wrote the soundtrack for the film “Flash Gordon”....there is a vid here on TH-cam of them recording the actual theme music of the film...by the way they were no strangers to writing film scores....and last but not least, I’m sorry to hear that you’re still feeling poorly...the only cure for that is more Queen😂🤩
Thank you so much. This was actually filmed same day as the other. Coach is feeling much better now. But you are correct, this particular one was a great pick me up when Coach needed it most!
This is another great concert! Milton Keynes 1982!
Brilliant move to take an iconic song that they have done so many times and re-purpose it as a sort of "remixed" opening number to immediately fire up the crowd.
Hey guys the song hero is at the end of the film flash and I was at this concert and apart from wembley in 86 I have to say it was one of their best
Awesome that you got to attend!
For changing things up, take a listen to hammer to fall with Paul Rogers, return of the champions concert.
What a brilliant start to a concert thanks for reacting ❤ sorry to hear you’re not feeling well Coach sending best wishes hope you’re feeling better soon 😊 x
Thank you. Feeling better since this was recorded.
I saw them on this tour (Edinburgh) and what a show it was!!! For me, this is their best opener.
Queen wrote the soundtrack for Flash Gordon which includes Flash. The Hero accompanies the end titles of the movie. Two great songs.
Hi Patreon Sheila here, if you want to see a joyful and brilliant melody done by Queen please react to the rock and roll melody at Wembley on Saturday 1986. They cover their favorite rock and roll songs from when they were young. They always pay homage to those who went before. Blessings from England xx
Hi! That sounds like a fun one. We'll definitely keep it in mind for a future reaction. Love to see tributes like that.
Potentes!!! Maravilloso version!!
Yes they did do the soundtrack for Flash. They asked the star of the film to be in the official video too!! In fact they did several films including Highlander that Roger wrote A kind of Magic. Yes, Queen, a great way to wake up!! yes yes yes!!!
Flash was composed by Brian May, Queen did the soundtrack for the film
Yes Queen did the music for the flash Gordon movie and the Highlander movie.
Hi Coach, I hope you're feeling better soon & hi Mrs Coach, I hope you're well? Great reaction to this rocking song duo :) These were the opening 2 songs for every concert on their 1982 Hot Space world tour. Flash was the prelude/intro to each show on that tour and the pre recorded version was used. Flash & The Hero are on the Flash soundtrack album for the 1980 movie of the same name and they did all the music for it. Nobody does rock like Queen - certainly live anyway, and that's why they're the GOAT'S!! This show at the Milton Keynes Bowl is one of their best ever concerts. Please react to Staying Power from this show, the video for the song Flash & Radio Ga Ga live at Wembley 1986 - the 2nd of 2 nights there. It's at full length, as opposed to being shortened for their Live Aid gig.
Thank you. Yes Mrs. Coach is fine and Coach if feeling better since recording this. We'll keep that suggestion in mind!
@@CoachCastTV You're welcome. Great, I'm glad you both are ok. Cool.
Glad you enjoyed it , they also opened the montreal concert with this fast version, i actually prefer it to the original, we all need a bit of rock when we are under the weather , get well soon coach
Thanks. Feeling better since this was recorded.
You enjoyed Somebody to Love at Montreal very much. At Milton Keynes Freddie sings it in a blues version. You should give it a listen.
Sounds quite interesting!
Yes it was brilliant
Hi folks! A special one here-for all the Doc's wanting to write a song that the crowd could participate in (the studio version of WWRY) this one was the go-to live. The first time they played it (that I saw) was that tour, and they played one verse of the original, then tore into that fast version and that place erupted. The entire Richfield Coliseum jumping as one-it's a wonder we didn't literally bring the place down. I saw them do this four out of the five times and it never, ever got old. Feel better, brother. Love you folks!
Thank you so much! Coach is doing better now. Very cool that you got to see this live, and we'd guess each time was a little different.
❤❤❤❤😊😊❤I love John's bass part in We Will Rock You
Check out We will rock you fast version Montreal 81
Hello Coach & Mrs Coach .. Happy Valentine’s Day! 💝💐🍫 This is my favorite Queen concert opener!! FLASH ⚡️puts the crowd on alert “AAAHHH”, then Brian runs onto the stage Red Special in hand, 🎸leading the way for THE HERO (Freddie), right into WE WILL ROCK YOU (fast version). Stunning moment in time! LOVE IT ❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥
Hi there! Happy Valentine's Day to you.
You should also watch George Micheals very moving rendition of 'somebody to love' at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert held at Wembley stadium, April 1992.
Sadly, George has also passed away now, but this concert is a fantastic watch with a huge cast from the UK and the USA
The mic stand maybe under repair. The show must go on.
The Hero plays at the end of the movie FLASH during the credits. Never spotted the missing microphone stand before - and I've seen this LOTS of times !!
hi the family Rock!! how are you? are you ready for the rock'n(roll song?
Sheer heart attack hammersmith 1979 remaster 2022 !! let's go!!
we wait !!! enjoy
The flash bit was the tape section which opened the concerts in 1982
Love this version of We Will Rock You.. Queen would start their concerts with this song, whipping the audience into a frenzy. Energy right from the start. Please check out Hitman and Breakthru. Boomer Sooner.
I've seen them 5 times 86 was the last concert I see cos he fell very ill as you no so they stopped touring
The "Flash Gordon" album is probably one of Thier least appreciated and listened to albums, not because it's bad but because a lot of it is instrumental and only has a few actual songs on it, I like it, Freddie's voice in it is used like an instrument
Freddie made the comment if you want their songs to sound the same just listen to the records. That was Queen always different.Somebody To Love at this concert is great.
Mrs Coach you have eyes like a hawk! If you don't say, I never notice that mic thing. 🤣This fast version was performed many times during the 80s.
Queen song 'It's Late' maybe you have heard it ?From a U.K. Queen Fan.
Yes, we reacted to it and it should be on the channel now.
Hey team. Still waiting for my last 2 queeen suggestions but I’ll always rock out with you guys. 💥💥💥. Hope you feel better coach. Like me , hopefully you’re taking your centrum silver 😂
LOL! Yeah, Coach is feeling better now. Appreciate it!
The Hero is on the end credits of the movie "Flash Gordon"
They wrote the soundtrack to Flash Gordon.
The Hero is from Flash Gordon!
Get better soon Coach!!!
Thank you. This was filmed last weekend, and already doing better now. Appreciate you as always!
"The Hero" was written by Queen for the movie "Flash Gordon", which was the first soundtrack Queen wrote (the second was "Highlander"). It was featured in the movie’s credits and uses a lot of the themes from previous tracks, (especially from the Battle Theme) as well as being the only song in the album with lyrics besides ‘Flash’s Theme’.
If you want an example of how Queen can change the arrangement of a song and make it totally different, you should check out "A Kind of Magic" from the movie soundtrack for the film "Highlander" and compare it to the live version that appeared on the album and Queen performed live.
The phrase “a kind of magic” is used in "Highlander" by Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) as a description of his immortality. Roger liked the phrase so much that he used it as inspiration for the song. There are references to the film in the lyrics: “one prize, one goal”; “no mortal man”; and “there can be only one”. The single’s cover art features an image of Clancy Brown in character as the film’s villain, The Kurgan.
Roger wrote the melody and chords for the version that appeared in the film, which Brian described as “quite lugubrious and heavy”. Here is "A Kind Of Magic" (Highlander Version) - th-cam.com/video/g8mobbKlBTM/w-d-xo.html.
But Freddie became a bit obsessed with the song. He really liked it but heard it differently in his head. So while Roger was on holiday, Freddie changed the song. He composed a new bass line, added instrumental breaks, and changed the song’s order to make it more chart-friendly. Then he produced this new version.
Though the song is still credited solely to Roger, he was still a bit annoyed went he returned from holiday and found that Freddie had changed his song. In the end, he admitted it sounded better.
Here is Queen performing Freddie's arrangement of Roger's "A Kind Of Magic" at Wembley in 1986 - th-cam.com/video/bzwklAQYJf4/w-d-xo.html
Very interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
I saw this concert on TV in the 90s. Not one of their best especially as it was promoting the then current album Hot Space. Hot Space is fine, but down in the lower ranks of their albums.
We Will Rock You (Fast Version) was issued on the Live Killers album from 1979.
I have a different live version on the double VHS Greatest Flix set.
The Milton Keynes Bowl is now known as the National Bowl and has a capacity for 65,000 people.
I attended the full day show at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 86 when Status Quo were performing their last gig. They lied. They came back and are still going with one member.
I enjoyed them, but mainly attended to see Marillion as I knew they wouldn't perform locally in my City.
This isn't the song flash, it's 'Hero'. The opening did have some flash in but it changed to Hero at the guitar bit.
That's why we didn't recognize it.
@CoachCastTV it's is on the movie. I think it's played at the end credits.
Hello Mr and Mrs Couch, may I suggest you instead of do reaction of songs do a reaction of this documentary of Queen “Days of our lives” it’s very well made and for sure you would like it!!! You should really don’t miss it!!!
You should listen to Flash live version from the Montreal concert
Or Buenos Aires, so they can actually see Brian playing piano and synthesiser.
@@basstian true!
Hero is a own song not belonging to flash. Flash was only the intro before they came on stage
The studio version of The Hero is much better, one of their greatest songs.
React babymonster stuck in the middle special stage ❤
Can you react to the music video of ‘I want to break free’ ? It’s very interesting
We will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks!
Interesting show this one. Sound was a bit dodgy, vocals go off now and again, not the greatest venue. BUT in all real and raw.
Hero is a own song not belonging to flash. Flash was only the intro before they came on stage
