Got me 6C from my wife as a gift. Got me the 6S also. Great razor ! So smooth
T2 Stainless is one of my go-to's. Throw a Feather in it and leave set to 6. Just something about the head geometry that I get a very comfortable shave.
The 6C and 6S are probably the pair of my most recommended razors to get started in wet shaving (or just to have) simply because of the price and variety that you get all in one package. I started out with the 6C as my first safety razor, but I personally like the 6S more because of the added weight of the stainless steel and production in the USA / Canada, even though it is around $50 more. I even sent mine in to Razor Emporium and got it refinished in rhodium...and it has been a dream to use now without the matte / satin finish. Still, you can't go wrong with either of these because of the multiple plates and ease of adjustment.
I have a 6C amongst other various brands. Every time I use the 6C is a pleasurable shave. I would highly recommend it for someone starting to wet shave as well as the experienced wet shaver. It's hard to go wrong with ot once you have it dialed in for your needs.
I started my DE shaving experience with a Henson AL13 and a Rockwell 6S. I recently added a Rockwell T2 stainless steel and a Rex Ambassador to my collection. (My wife now uses the Henson.) I currently alternate between the 6S and the Ambassador when I need to shave. I’m retired and don’t shave daily anymore- maybe 2-3 times a week. I recommend the Rockwell 6 (C or S) to anyone just starting out with wet shaving. But I think the Rockwell 6S is more than a basic, introductory razor. It is an excellent choice with lots of flexibility and could easily be a GOAT razor. And I think the 6S will last a lifetime plus.
I admire Rex razors for many reasons. They have a quality design and great looks. Plus they’re made in the USA. I recently purchased a Rex Ambassador and a Rockwell T2 at about the same time to see which I would prefer. I wanted the option of an “adjust on the fly” razor without the need to disassemble the razor to change the level of aggressiveness. For me, the Ambassador won due to its low top cap profile, ease of ability to do detail trimming, solid construction, and just great looks.
Thank you
The 6S has been in my rotation for quite a while. Always enjoy using it. Highly efficient and easy to use. Great value, great innovation and looks pretty good. Another great video Matt!
Shave on!
I have the 6C and T2. The 6C is definitely one of my favs and I frequently recommend it to new shavers. I’m saving my pennies for a 6S that’s been Razor Emporiumed in Rhodium!
I really enjoy the blades. I pair it with my Gillette Red Tip and it gives me an awesome shave.
I started shaving back in the early 80's using the supermarket DE razors of the day and migrated to cartridge razors over the years. When I decided to use DE razors again 5 years ago I opted for the 6C as my first choice and though I have a number of razors in my rotation that cost a great deal more, the 6C is still in my rotation. It's just a brilliant razor. I would like to swap it for a 6S just for the superior material but the 6C is still going strong and still looks factory fresh after all this time.
Thanks for still making videos for us, Matt. It’s great to see all these products and you’re always fun to watch.
Thx 🙏
When the question comes up on the forums I always recommend the Rockwell 6C for a beginner or the next step up for someone who has been shaving for awhile. I gave my 6C to a friend when I bought a 6S and he loves it. The ability to try different levels of adjustment and get a comfortable, effective shave makes it an easy choice.
I have the Rockwell 6c and it really is one of my favorites. I’d recommend it to everybody.
I started my wet shaving journey by purchasing a few razors from AliExpress along with some brushes and a bowl. I quickly discovered that the razors were a bad purchase and started looking for a replacement. I found the Rockwell 6C and began shaving with that. I have been using it for about a year and a half by now and I am still experimenting with different blades, different techniques, and different soaps/creams. I often try to convince myself that I need to buy another razor, something fancier or more expensive, but at the end of the day the Rockwell 6C does exactly everything I want it to do. I did stumble upon a Gillette Slim Adjustable at a garage sale that I purchased for more money that I should have, that thats a story for another day.
I have the 6c and it’s my autopilot razor. On any baseplate I can bang out a clean close shave that is smooth as hell. I feel the way he designed the head that you have to try to nick yourself. It really is a razor i don’t have to think about when I shave, it’s just easy and whether you’re a beginner or a lifelong DE shaver, you’ll like this razor.
6C is slightly smoother than 6S, the chrome finish makes a difference. Of course a Razor Emporium plating/polish job would certainly up the smooth factor😉 Thanks Matt!
I have the 6C and love it. It ties for first place with my Ambassador. We also have a T2 and that is the favorite of my wife. And after that we have a mild and medium Henson, which are always a great shave. I bought one of thier kits and was very pleased with all it comes with for the price.
I got the 2C as my first wet shaving razor about two years ago. I added the 2/4 and 5/6 plates separately over time, but the Rockwell has always offered a fantastic experience. Smooth, easy and efficient, I now enjoy the 5/6 plate and its efficiency, but have used all three plates (and all options) a lot. Its still a go-to razor, and I love using it.
The 6c has been great for me so far, as a beginner. Its made the process of figuring out what works best for me much easier. I'm still working my way up through the different plates and trying different blades.
Matt beginner cannot go wrong with a Vintage Gillette Tech.
I like Vintage Razors, they Shave well.
I have the 2c and I love it. The 3 plate is a great shave.
I tried a couple of different razors in the beginning, but once I got the Rockwell 6s I was set. Can't express how perfect it is for me. I use level three every single day and I jump up to level six if I go a couple days without shaving.
Bought my 6s from your company and had it come polished. It's a favorite of mine. Next to my Konsul it's my GOAT. Thanks Matt.
Hi Matt and Happy New Year !
Rockwell is a great razor I do love it however the 6C gun metal version I have unfortunately started fading out on the top cap.
I've read that other people have the same issue so my recommendation is who ever wants to buy one go for the chrome version or the stainless steel one cos their plating is not so good on the gun metal.
Nice review of Rockwell products. After I bought the 6C I was so impressed that I gave it to my son-in-law and upgraded to the 6S. The 6S is the DE I use most of the time. It's a quality-made safety razor and will last for many lifetimes. I always recommend the 6C to beginners.
Hello Matt, I love my ROCKWELL RED EDITION 6S. I have had mine for 2 years now. I use my 1/3 and 2/4 plates primarily. One of my favorite razors in the shave den.👍💜
The 6C and 6S are my best shaving razors. I rotate them with vintage Gillettes.
Watched the RE review of the 6c/s back a couple years ago. At the time I didn’t really shave my beard, cartridge razors gave me razor bumps and the Gillette fatboy I had gave me razor bumps and tons of cuts no matter what blades I used. But I bought a 6c and it’s been my go too razor ever since, it also introduced me to Rockwell blades which I found I was able to use in my vintage fatboy without an issue. I’ve thought about upgrading to something nicer, or transitioning back to my fatboy but I just don’t see much need to, the 6c has a great styling and works extremely well for me, so why spend the money on something that might not work for me or replace something that already works
Very nice video, Matt, thank you. After trying about 10 different razors over the last three years, the 6C is my current favorite (plate 2 when shaving every day, plate 4 when shaving every other day). Might step up the the 6S someday, but the 6C works beautifully, so no real need. Cheerio!
I LOVE my Rockwell 6S! One of my top three razors in my den.
6c in gun metal. Love it but really want a Rex konsul 😉
Always have heard greeat things about Rockwell Razors and the 6S is always spoken highly of. May have to pick one up.
I picked up a 6c from you in one of your beginner kits about 8 months ago, and I don’t see myself ever needing to buy another razor. I like the adjustability, which allows me to use different guards with each pass.

Not a bad spotlight. I do own a 6c j crew edition which I normally use of plate 6. Just a brilliant no nonsense (boring) razor. Plus, versatile enough to work with most blades.
When I started wet shaving the R1 was my first razor.
I had a 6s and it shaved fine. Gave it to my nephew since I wasn't using it anymore. I found other razors that felt better on my skin.
Think im gonna try rockwell
I got my start with a Rockwell R1 starter set
6s will be my next razor and interested in that Razor Emporium Polishing process
nice...
6s Stainless used to be made in USA(also listed on RE site). 6c zamac is made in China unless something changed. I checked Rockwell site and no mention of where it is made.
Great beginner shaver and overall smooth shaver. One of the plates should hit the sweet spot for most unless you like very aggressive/a lot of bladefeel.
It's China on the packaging
@@RazorEmporium bummer
Love Rockwell not to expensive
Thanks for the overview.
I think there's better beginner friendly razors out there. Looking at you Merkur 34c. 😉
Recently acquired a 6C two shaves down using plates 1 and 2. Kind of want to let my beard grow out a little to try plate 6 but I enjoy the shaves too much. Plus feeling bad leaving other razors to wait until their turns. 😂
Hey there. Nice video again. Watching your video and the introduction of your video, I think that maybe..., maybe..., it's better to change your logo a little bit.I think it's better to use some kind of a double edge razor in your logo than using a shavette, since you're talking more about DE razors more than you talk about the shavettes. This is just my opinion, please don't be mad on me if you don't agree. If you use a DE razor in your logo, that will tell more about your content to those who're new to your channel. Otherwise it maybe that newbes expect more shavette than DE razors in your videos. Kind regards, Belgian viewer.
Would you be able to revamp an old schick repeater?
Yes
@ would that fit into the specialty razor category?
The 6s is actually made in the U.S.!
Where does it say that ?
I have a 6C in my den and a 2C that lives in my travel bag.
I need a 6s bad
Get a razorock game changer stainless steel for half the price.
@Bobny989 nice! Are they good?
@@JaronPope oh yeah, also all over reddit and made in Canada
Algorithm, baby!
Made in China is a no buy for me. Has to be USA made or at least North America.
Hmm... hey Matt @razoremporeum, this might be a good topic for a future video: American Made Product Roundup.
The different base plates seems like a pain in the butt. I would prefer a traditional adjustable (with a dial) razor. lol, how very Apple of them, designed in Canada, made (with minimal regulations) in China. Haha eco packaging, but production in China? Next you’re gonna say the Rockwell owner is also big into human rights
