Couldn't agree more. I was so disappointed by Apple Intelligence. It's simply not good. I can't use it to improve my writing. It ruins the context of the entire message almost every time. It's basically like having someone with a thesaurus to swap simple words for bigger words all while not appearing to have any idea what the intended meaning behind the message is supposed to be.
The guy that Apple bought Siri from was an AI expert that wanted to bring AI to Sire. Apple drove him out in little over a year and we were left with a broken Siri for a decade. Just think had they had vision and listened to him about AI and Siri.
I agree. There is a way to 'teach' AI to write better and more naturally, by starting with a prompt, something like: You are a writing assistant. Vary the sentence length, follow the Elements of Style, and write in the style of [Your favorite Author, but not Hemingway or Faulkner]. Write for a 7th grade audience using simple words with impact. .... If you search through some of the earlier TH-cam videos for 'writing like a person', you may find specific prompt suggestions that will generate reasonable prose.
AI right now is so full of hype that it creates a problem. Tech companies either go with the hype (that they know to be hype) or they lose in the market.
I think for Apple to fix that , they need to fit a better (or bigger size) AI model in the phone, which mean they need to increase the device memory to handle that, unless there some new model quantization is smaller and provide better result.
@@everlasts What I'm getting at is how Tim Cook had an AI expert a decade before what we see today. Tim blocked his vision and drove him out of the company. I'm sure he's not the only creative to be driven out in the name of profit. When Apple intelligence came it was a half effort or half thought. It's just sad.
Iam an Apple fanboy, but the truth is that Apple has shifted to playing it safe, abandoning the innovation that once defined the company. Staying at the top requires taking risks, a quality this generation of Apple leadership seems unwilling to embrace. It’s disappointing from a brand that once revolutionized the industry.
M-series chips wasn't a risk? First USB-C only desktops and laptops wasn't a risk? Integration straight into ChatGPT wasn't a risk? Setting off on Private Cloud Compute isn't a bold journey? Apple has lost their way to innovate. They’re too worried about MONEY instead of innovating and really changing things for the consumer/the world. Look how they missed the boat on AI. If they weren’t so focused on a bunch of different products to just throw out there to take in the money. They wouldn’t have missed the whole AI scene. We miss Steve Jobs.
all companies enter the same cycle. Look at Nokia. It is just waiting for the next game changer and people will simply move over there. But in fairness to Apple... they do have a good product and will I will be buying iPhone 17 pro as my iPhone 14 plus is getting old... and big for my hands. But my Iphone 6s and iPhone 10s max are still working. Apple products are good for my experience.
What are you talking about? Everyone missed the ai scene except Microsoft but are so stale they weren’t able to capitalise on it. Chat gpt arrived and google and apple were both caught off guard.
I seriously don’t understand and definitely don’t agree with this narrative of “no innovation”. “M” Series Chips were/are a breakthrough when they came out. Not always we will get a new physical gadget from Apple just to simply demonstrate Apple’s greatness, sometimes breakthroughs are on the details.
In all fairness they weren't really a breakthrough were they they're based on ARM lithography and that's British, I don't know why everyone's giving Apple the credit for these chips when they're actually based on British designs
I agree. For example I upgraded from iPhone 11 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max and --Apple Intelligence aside-- they're basically still the same phone. YET for some reason a plethora of tiny updates has come together to make it a significant upgrade. I'm not saying Apple couldn't do even better--I'd like to see more stability, efficiency, optimization, bug fixes, and evolving the UI to the reality of it being 6.9" where your thumb can't reach the top to swipe. But all my newer Apple devices are definitively BETTER than the older Apple products I loved, so claiming they're going down the tubes is a bit exaggerated. But yeah we need a little flurry of optimization, efficiency, debugging, and refining what's been done so far.

What details have the come out with since the M1? The apple right now isn’t what it used to be. Their quality and attention to detail surely has taken a fall.
- AirPods - M-series silicon chips - AirTags - Apple Watch ( technically some digital watches were out already but they fleshed out most of the designs so others could follow ) - Apple Vision Pro ( even if it was a failure ) - Literally the iPhone X ( I know it fucked up the usual 2 years that apple released a phone, and that some stuff is very similar to some stuff from the palm phones, but goddamn the iPhone X was something ) Steve Jobs was a horrible person by the way, the crunch he put onto employees makes rockstar games look like a workplace from heaven, washed his feet with toilet water, and was just generally, a jerk basically. Straight to the point, I'm an Android User, all Google and Samsung Products and there is a good reason for that. Samsung and Google have everything and more, the only thing I wish Android had years ago was an iMessage and FaceTime competitor and now we do-Google Meet and Google Messages. Google Meet works for iOS Users and Google Messages RCS works with iMessage. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and its ridiculously great, could have a larger front screen I have to admit, but when I use it out in public some poeple look at it like its a product from Mars lol. They find it cool, especially iPhone Users. I'm a tech guy and Apple has never impressed me, and honestly I never liked Samsung either, but ever since I got a Samsung Galaxy Note8 and seen was Samsung is all about with an Open Ecosystem, Innovation, some copying, and making just about everything under the sun, I just find Samsung to be more impressive as Brand with what they accomplish. When Apple finally releases a Foldable iPhone using a Samsung Display Screen and calling it revolutionary, I'll be on my Scrollable/Rollable Samsung Galaxy Phone lol.
The button itself isn't a joke. It is actually a very good input for the camera albiet in the wrong position. It is however a bad justification to justify an upgrade from an older iphone to the 16 line. Anyone with a working iPhone is better off staying where they are.
Disagree. App quality and ecosystem feels like I went back in a time machine 10 years whenever I use Galaxy 24. And don't get me started on the hair pulling and teeth gnashing you have to do to get something even half as good as Apple's automations and shortcuts. Android fanbois squeal with glee over changing icon packs while iPhone users can literally customize the way the entire phone works.

This is 100% spot on. Cannot be fixed? Yes, just not by Tim Cook. Tim Cook is great at making money but he’s not a product guy. Apple needs the next Steve Jobs and/or Jonny Ive and they don’t have that. They have no taste makers. No one with heart. No one with style. No one with vision. I could run product development a lot better than Tim Apple.
I could also run the product development better. Why? I fully understand how Steve Jobs was seeing the world and thinking. I was monitoring his moves for 30 years. Apple became nowadays exactly what was IBM/Microsoft which Apple ridiculed in their Mac vs PC ads.
If you were the Founder of Apple? What exactly would you do. For me? I will make updates that SPEED UP phones. I would make the IPhones cheaper like Androids And if I do need to make another Apple product, I will try to make it different and of course faster.
I am the furthest thing from an Apple apologist, BUT sometimes I feel like people look at past Apple with rose-colored glasses. The first iPhone was met with some skepticism and criticism for lacking features (like MMS), the lack of a tactile keyboard, and let’s not forget there was no App Store that came later. Then there was antennagate with iPhone 4, and bendgate with iPhone 6. I think part of the problem now is that it is hard to refine on product categories that many companies (including Apple) have refined to a razor’s edge. And consumers expect to be wowed with the “next big thing.”
No app store, but nobody else had an app store. Antenna gate was a nothing burger. Bend gate was admittedly a weak effort, but just had to be a bit careful
That is the problem, Steve Left them with the iPhone! Without Steve they are dead in the water, just the shareholders don’t know it yet! Apple has become the monolithic IBM that they strived to outdo and crush!
This is an underrated comment. I don't know what customers expect from a mobile phone any more. The iPhone has been perfected ever since model X or prior. All newer iterations are marginally better and for most users unnecessary, but you can't really innovate further. Macbooks on the other hand with the M1-4 chips have been marvelous machines.
@@kassiosyou can’t innovate further? foldable phones? china is huge in that already. samsung has a z fold. chinese brand has a foldable 3 screen phone. i personally believe the same style for the past 3 years isn’t due to the inability to innovate further it’s due to maximizing profit margins. innovating further means a more expensive phone which means people will either not upgrade to that after the last model or they will not want to upgrade annually. they would have to change their production model back to every 2-3 years. i think it’s more so about maximal gains for lesser effort because apple fans are a cult.
@@a.n0n foldable screens are a useful innovation? Nobody wants such features and Samsung results in such bizarre executions to differentiate themselves from Apple because they cannot compete in the general mobile category. There is a common problem with most Android phones and it is the dreadful feature creep. In order to offer something "new" you bloat your software and hardware with unnecessary features that make the user experience worse than it started. True innovation is something very hard to achieve. The first iPhone with the touch screen and the simple gestures was innovative. New mobile phones (not just iPhones) are already perfect with perfect cameras and a great overall experience. Innovation may come in extended battery life (with some battery breakthrough) or new wearables like augmented reality glasses. The mobile phone by itself is a mature device.
I used to work for Apple for 7 years. The only thing Apple has refined since I left, is how to be greedy & fleece people with incremental upgrade/updates.
Once Steve Jobs passed away and all the creative ingenuity was used that he left behind, his successor who has NO creative bone in his body, this is where we are
I agree. Someone needs to realize the UI that worked on one-handed phones doesn't work on phones 6.3" and up. Time to do your suggestion exactly like you suggested it, and about a dozen or so other things that suffer a similar situation.
The universal “back button” is probably the only thing I miss from Android sometimes. With one-hand use,it can be very difficult to press the back button on top left to outright dangerous in case you lose grip on the device and it falls.
My dad is the original Apple Fan, he loooves Apple and idolizes Steve Jobs, he motivated me to love Apple and I did! But being younger I quickly fell out of love for Apple and its laziness under Tim and switched to Android. This year my dad (who owns the new 16 Pro Max) said he had enough with Apple and his next phone won't be from Apple. He was not impressed with the 16 PM and he even got a buggy unit, he is at awe at what the competition is doing in Asia (Huawei mainly and Samsung) If that doesn't ring alarm bells for Apple that an OG Apple fan got enough of them, idk what is
What kind of bugs he had with his 16PM. I am first time Iphone user, got my 16PM almost a month ago and one the day 1, I went back to the store if the screen is faulty. They say, no, this is not Android, you have to press this way and that way. I still think there is a problem with the touch and responsiveness. There are many threads about it online as well but, I can't prove it. It has become better with IOS 18.2 but, it still exists.
@Twissen that exactly!!! His touches don't register and the phone also bugs out, he had every iPhone before so he knows this is a case of low quality check at the factory or low quality check in iOS. He is frustrated and done!

Honestly the iPhone to me is perfect it just needs a much much better battery and screen and I’m good. I just think adding a silly button for the camera was just dumb when my action button already can do that. I most social media’s can’t render the highest iPhone or camera photos, and most people can’t tell the difference so why camera updates matter idk. Battery and speed matter more and if we wait 2 years just for that I think most would be happy with just that
I wish more content creators would put disclaimers like "This has been a problem for ME, and for many others..." Because to say it's been a terrible year for software and hardware from Apple for everyone is simply not true. Plus, Apple came out with bangers this year (i.e. Mac mini). It's not just Apple, sadly. It seems like tech in general, from all tech companies, has hit a plateau. Nothing groundbreaking, and now any thought of "innovation" turns out to be just a gimmick.
None of Apple's software works as it should. Each macOS update has fixed one major bug but brought a new one with it. My old M1 MacBook Air went from kernel crashing daily, to Safari crashing hourly, to it not updating, to iCloud not syncing, to the system wiping my desktop twice and finally the laptop getting bricked due to iCloud issues. I've had gigabytes of data disappear from iCloud (related to prior iCloud issues) and Logic Pro files reverting back to old version when moving them from iCloud to the local storage. My iPhone is also slow and buggy as hell
@@grahamevans8567 Trust me, I've tried other products. One other issue I've had was with my AirPods Pro's. Few months after buying them I started having connection issues periodically which evolved over a few months into won't connect at all. Had them replaced, had less severe issues with the new pairs, but still issues. I decided to replace them with Sony XM5's expecting them to be better. No. Still connection issues, and the left bud died less then a month after buying them. Sony support is a nightmare and I still haven't gotten them replaced/refunded. I also used to be an Android user and have looked at switching back, but the other side doesn't seem much greener, just different issues. Then I'd argue Windows is worse than MacOS in many ways, besides compatibility.
The issue is that Apple stopped focussing on the customer and started and more on their shareholders. As long as the stock is doing well everything is immaterial
this is all about tangible products but they make more money from Apple TV subscriptions and storage subscriptions .....The big money is in Apple software. CarPlay is raking it in
The only way is to find another Steve Jobs. Tim Cook ain't cooking no more. He never cooked in the first place, he basically served what Steve cooked and then ran out of recipes.
I agree wholeheartedly. The i noticed this when Apple began to neglect iTunes aka Apple Music. The UI is stale and buggy. Adding music to my phone is a pain in the rump now. They removed the ability to see what albums from specific artists can go on by checking them, the album cover art randomly changes to artists and covers of music that I don’t even have (that’s a metadata problem and it’s been going on for a long time.) Then they remove charges from the iPhone box, don’t reduce the price by $30 (ask in the name of “the environment “) then they sell MAKE & SELL the chargers anyway while LITERALLY shouting from the rooftop of their building that there’s enough chargers on earth already (but give us $30 for the charger we’re not going to give you anymore and not reduce the price by that same $30 for the phone). What’s next: no charging cable? I mean why not? They lied about the headphone jack saying they needed more space in the phone for the haptic feedback generator, took away the $30 headphones (no reduction in price ) and then presented us ta-da $130 headphones to PURCHASE because there’s no headphone jack! Wow! The innovation of “they’ll have no choice”. The character “Steve Jobs” in the movie of the same name said: “buy it or don’t”. (I’m unaware if Steve really said that, but it seems to be Tim’s moniker.) I could go on, but you’ve presented great cases here and my hand has better things to do than point out more of Craig & Tim’s failures.
What irritates me about Apple iPads is that they always last past the two-year icare plan and then when the charging port goes haywire-wears out, no one will repair it, you are just encouraged to buy a new one. Ridiculous. I love the iPad Pro, but making it so that you have to buy a new one every 2 to 3 years is ridiculous.
They are so stale now! I love the products but I feel like they only want to do minimal updates, nickel and dime everyone to death, and make everything a subscription. The so called updates have been terrible this year, for both software and the hardware. Buggy software and the AirPods Max are my terrible highlights.
Hard disagree, I love using my 16 pro max and I didnt expect myself to really enjoy using Apple Intelligence, even though these “tech youtubers” falsely saying these products are lame.
Interesting to see a different view from my own. I can't even keep up with studying how to use every feature in the updates, they come so fast. I'm the kinda girl who reads the manual and tries to get the most out of it. And I can tell you this. The last few years have been a whizbang speeding freight train. Maybe they're all out of things for normie users to do because they won't even learn more than their 5 fave things to do on it anyway. But for someone who squeezes every last drop of juice from the device, I'm getting to where I can't do it anymore. The feature upgrades are coming out faster than I can learn to use them!
The big issue with tech is the yearly update cycle. My ipad pro is 4 years old and still works perfect. Absolutely no need for a new one. Same with my 2021 MacBook pro. I upgrade my phones every 2 years because of the type of plan that I have but my IP14pro is just as reliable as my wife's IP16pro.
I've thought this for 2-3 years. They've been riding on the coattails of Steve Jobs innovations it seems, but the Mac mini was a good release, especially the last upgrade.
I have been buying and using Apple Products since the Macintosh SE back in 1987. Mostly no complaints-until I bought an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and discovered that the elevation display would drop out using the Workout app while I was running. Apple sent me a replacement watch and I had the same problem. I also used: Apple Watch 9, Garmin S70, Garmin Forerunner 945, and Coros Apex 2 Pro at the same time and have never had any issues with these watches. Two hours with Apple tech support has so far yielded no solution and no followup from them for two months. So yeah, I feel like Apple is losing their edge. I am very frustrated and am reminded of how Apple has dropped the ball whenever I take off my $800 Ultra 2 and use another watch when I go for a run. With Jobs and Ive gone it seems Apple is a lost behemoth that will die a slow death.
Who do you think will buy a robot in an economy that is near rock bottom. Apple is failing because their out of touch with there users. Prices are too high for most people and not enough quality control for their software. This is what happens when a company becomes too wealthy. Tim Cook has no clue as to how any of Apples products even work. That's why he never gives details about any of them. Most of the best people are gone. Apple is left with people who are just engineers. The best they could do was put a notch on a laptop screen and say look at that, aren't we great. I had two M3Pro MacBook Pros and both had several issues. Got an new M4Pro and still have some issues. External drives fail to eject, have to force eject all the time. 4K playback of TH-cam videos still stutter at the beginning. Build quality is still great. The screen is the best. 4K HDR TH-cam videos are breath taking. Apple needs to hire new people with new ways of thinking and give more money to R&D. Also fire Tim Cook, Worst CEO is history. No incentive to do anything because he has 2.2 billion dollars. No CEO is worth that kind of money period. Apple also has 4 trillion dollars just sitting there doing nothing. Hard to have innovation with this happening.
MacOSX has forever had a problem ejecting disks or sometimes images. It often makes a meal of it and this has been going on for decades.PS Cook's pay sickens me. He's done nothing apart from giving Apple anorexia, can never be too thin huh Tim?

I’ve been an Android user for ages, but I decided to give the iPhone a try. My first Apple product was the iPhone 11, along with the first-gen AirPods Pro and the Apple Watch Series 5. Honestly, Android had more features with software and hardware, but I have to admit, Apple has something special. Their ecosystem is unbeatable, and they just have what people really need and use. It’s like they know exactly what we want. And let’s be real, companies now are struggling to innovate. Most of them are stuck in a rut, not just in the smartphone market, but everywhere.
I recently visited friend with whole Samsung ecosystem, similar to my Apple ecosystem. Tablet, phone, laptop... but he doesn't have desktop cuz I guess they don't make those. Over and over I was like "how do you do X in this ecosystem" and he'd be like, showing some primitive backwards way. The stuff you actually need to use isn't as good, but he was all fanboyed out over having Dex, and I'm like thinking, OK so your phone can act like a really crappy chomebook laptop but you don't really use it because you got a laptop anyway... why doesn't my cursor just slide off the screen right into the tablet, how do I share the song I'm listening to right to it so when I walk out of the room the song follows me?
@@a.n0n For example, if I got a Mac and just brought my brand new iPhone in the house that they've never seen before, I can take a screenshot on it and ctrl-V paste straight into, say, an email or a photoshop layer. The two devices have never seen each other before. I can't remember exactly what happened there but it was like googling "how do I set it up to do this and that" and multiple steps. Oh yeah and wasn't just automatically printing from the printer either. In fact almost nothing worked as well, and the things that did work were more clunky experiences.
Nail on the head. Your usage of the word “lazy” is spot on. I finally had to stop buying the new products, they just aren’t worth it and it’s clear Apple is not trying. For those old enough, the Apple of the early 2000s was just incredible. Everything just worked, and not only that - Apple was able to SEPARATE themselves from their competitors dramatically (the primary one being the PC, but also MP3 players etc). Apple was such an alternative to “mundane” PCs and marketed themselves that way, as being for creatives and performers. In 2024, Apple can’t separate itself. The competition is incredibly strong and DEFINITELY more innovative. Apple’s become the kind of company I think Steve Jobs would make fun of back in the day (RIP). I say this as someone who owns a ridiculous number of Apple products. I’m so entrenched in their ecosystem I have zero interest in resetting all of that up on other platforms. And I think Apple knows this, and relies on it way too much.
Apple from the 2000’s didn’t “just work”. I dare you to try macOS puma or cheetah. Not to mention the Titanium PowerBook G4 and multiple GPU issues with iMac’s and iBook’s. They were sluggish and awful. Mid to late 2000’s is where they were polished all around. Far from polished in the early naughts.
@@megatronskneecap sorry I should’ve been more specific but my comment was already too long lol. I can only speak for my experience learning music production, but I was blown away at how intuitive the OS was and how I could connect everything to my keyboards, MPCs, mics etc. At that time, windows was often known for its “blue screen of death” and nothing was simple. Macs (to me, at that time) felt “simple” in a good way. That’s what I mean by the “just worked”. But I take your point. Nowadays my M series products don’t even even start up fast or load music efficiently like back in the day. My AVP sucks at even syncing its photos with my other devices. To me, Apple products have a lot of power but they’ve become more clunky and less streamlined. Just my opinion.
Yeah. That's why everything competing with the new Mac Mini is total trash in measuring up. Costs more, performs worse. Uses an insecure OS made stuck together with duct-tape and bubblegum. Strong competition indeed.
Lack of innovation, overpriced products, no accountability on deffective products, non support of retail repair... the list goes on and on. It's the consumers fault for buying into this garbage.
I beg to slightly differ. I do agree that 2024 in particular was just an overall lazy year for Apple. However, my iPhone 15 Pro is practically nothing but reliable, efficient, and consistent! Also, the AirPods Pro 2 work incredibly well almost all that time, and not to mention just how excellently the fluidity of some of Apple’s new AI features work!
Apple intelligence and particularly Clean up heating up iPhone 16 pro after 2 mins of use is so weird for a phone built from the ground up for that. Besides the fact that it’s very hit or miss, and it crashes the photos App without saving your edits. Same for image playground. But worse experience of all is AirPods Pro 2 disconnecting and connecting abruptly minute in minute out. This happens every now and then and goes away for a while after resetting them. I’m the biggest Apple fan I personally know and I’m very frustrated with Apple.
Starting to hate apple, really they’re regressing similar to automotive industry. Terrible and so behind due to their controlling built in technology that’s stunting their advancement. They’re not transparent with whom they dance.
Every company has problems and does annoying things but the problems you mentioned I dont think its big deal and feels like your nitpicking. The company doesnt lack vision and doing just fine.
A better question is, who has even come close to what they have so far? On the desktop, no one. On the laptop, maybe those ARM-based Surface, but their launch is all whacked out and not taking off so well. On the phone, the Samsung S24U/S25U is a worthy competitor except the business model of the OS is to sell your identity down the river.
@@joeking22 OS RAM bloat is objective. Geekbench single and multi-core are objective. CPU performance per watt?--It's objective. ARM-based Windows sales figures are objective. @@Äpple-pie-5k Literally anything can beat apples desktop lmao. Every android is now of equal competitor to the lineup of apple phones. Plus no folds from apple.
I completely agree. Apple has become increasingly complacent when it comes to innovation, with nothing truly groundbreaking in their recent products. It’s disappointing to watch as other companies introduce innovative features, including dual or even triple screens, while Apple remains frustratingly rigid and unwilling to explore new ideas. To make matters worse, the frequent bugs in every update only add to the frustration. At this rate, it’s easy to imagine other brands surpassing Apple in the near future unless they introduce something truly revolutionary.
I never had a single issue with my 14 Pro Max. Now, my 16 Pro is so unpredictable. Apps don’t always work right, my display automatically dims constantly and no it’s not my settings, and my phone will often completely shut down as if the battery died despite what my battery level is and I have to completely reboot and turn it back on. I’m really really considering getting my Pixel 9 Pro going instead…
I’m no techie, but I disagree. What made Apple and so many other companies great wasn’t that they gave the masses what they wanted, they gave them what they needed. Henry Ford said it best, when talking about his cars. Before he made one, if you asked the average person how to make travel better, they described a more efficient horse. Not a car. Apple used to have that. They’ve become such a massive company they have no choice but to listen to their consumers, what they want, and rightfully so. But it is a double edged sword. Could our want for the perfect iPhone or product X be the deterrent of “the next big thing?” I don’t have the answer to this “question” and no one does. Just a thought. Thanks for making tech news consumable for those of us who passively enjoy Apple.
Henry Ford never said this quote. The earliest linkage known between the saying and Henry Ford appeared in “The Cruise Industry News Quarterly” in 1999. John McNeece, a cruise ship designer, speculated about the desires of Henry Ford’s potential customers. John McNeece: “There is a problem trying to figure out what people want by canvassing them. I mean, if Henry Ford canvassed people on whether or not he should build a motor car, they’d probably tell him what they really wanted was a faster horse. Interestingly, the words above were not credited directly to Ford. The earliest ascription to Ford appeared in a letter sent to the UK publication Marketing Week in 2001: „Being market-led implies being led by the consumer - and consumers are bad at coming up with innovations (Henry Ford’s quote: “If I had asked my customers what they wanted they would have said a faster horse” springs to mind…)“ Yet Henry Ford died in 1947, so the evidence connecting him to the quotation appears to be very weak.
"Masses" can get what they need from multiple different companies, it is not like Apple was the only manufacturer of computers, phones, smartwatches or speakers. If people chose Apple instead of other brands is for different reasons.
MacBook Pro M4 14 inch. Enough said. If you want a good phone throw this iphone away and go get a Galaxy S24. Don't say "that apple has ever released". You're too young to remember the Apple camera or the CUBE. Or remember what it was like to go from iOS 4-5-6 and then experience iOS 7.
I wouldn't write Apple off just yet. They still have one of the largest cash reserves of any company. If Apple can't innovate they can buy smaller companies that do.
My iPhone 15 has so many issues since the last iOS update. The weirdest bugs ever. Videos I just filmed shrinking on playback. Interface components all over the place in numerous apps…just very strange stuff. I’ve been sending Apple emails explaining the problems and there’s never a response.
mmmmmmmm idk… my M4 iPad Pro is my favorite Apple device I’ve ever had. I don’t think Apple needs to keep growing and innovating at the same rate they have been.
People are mad that the Vision Pro released and is a gen 1 product instead of a gen 5 product. Like…no shit right? The first iPhone didn’t even have copy and paste. Give them time to cook. They already laid the foundation to build on
as someone who have used 4s then switched to android for many years.. just last month i switched to iphone 13.. it feels great... i would like to suggest if they stop upgrades for like 2-3 years... idunno much about business, but.... whats the point of making a new product if its unstable? are you theranos or something?...
I just upgraded from an iphone 13 to an iphone 15 pro max. The only thing thats different is the USB port and the texture on the back, and the dynamic island. I miss the iphone mini of 2021
Give Apple a break! The AVP is still very young. It needs a killer application to take it to the next level. The Apple II was once seen as an expensive toy until VisiCalc made it one of the most successful products in history. Many critics forget the AVP has a built-in computer and the equivalent of 8 4K screens.
Switched from an Iphone 13 to a S24 Ultra and oh boy was it a huge upgrade. Display is unmatched, battery life is perfect, it has a built in pen that does some stuff that not even the apple pencil does... and its all included with the phone and it fits inside the phone and charges there... cameras are great, processor is on par with the Iphone 15 Pro Max (same generation as the S24 Ultra) and the next lineup is shaping to be faster than the iphone 16 Pro Max. A lot of great underated stuff is happening on the android side rn...
One of the reasons the vision pro didn’t have the same impact as the first iphone is because the size of the market these products tried to disrupt. The cellphone/smartphone market was already a big and mature market, while the VR one is still a niche with not much use in the everyday life of people.
I suppose if you expect a mobile phone to keep doing amazing new things year after year after year then I suppose it will become boring and stagnant. What is it that you have to have your phone do that it doesn’t at the moment?
Totally agree, for example the "App Library" in iOS is such an annoying "feature" and many people have been complaining for years, but Apple are not even giving us the option to hide this annoying thing. The original iPhone used to be simple and clean, now iOS is a mess with different styles of buttons, sliders, gestures - no clear UX language. Another thing is the ability for iOS to automatically track time in bed and add it to the Health app that finally was working fine after years with problems, and now in iOS 18.1 they just remove it without any warning or explanation?!? Why? To force us buy apple watches?
That is so accurate, I switched to iPhones when 12 Pro Max was released and since 12 Pro Max the phones have had a lot of lagginess to the point where I did not feel the urge to upgrade to 16 Pro Max from my current 15 Pro Max. After the latest version of iOS it just got even worse, and finally I have decided to go back to Samsung note series (upcoming S25 ultra) and continue to use iPhone 12 as a backup device.
To me it is clear that Apple’s 2024 focus was on Pros for hardware (Finally). The M4 MacBook Pro, the iPhone 16 Pro, the Mac Mini… they all got added features that made professional’s workflow better. But for everyone else, there was nothing new and the waiting is causing the problem. Anyone else agree?
We hit the point of diminishing returns 6 or 7 years ago. You buy a new phone and it feels just like the old one in most cases. You just dont get the big leaps of performance anymore. I used to replace my PC CPU every year, now I go nearly 10 years. It's hard to tell the difference between a 3000MBps NVMe drive and a 7000MBps one. Yawn. All we get now is features we never wanted or asked for, then they blame us for not buying it.
Apple rarely does anything first. They usually attempt to do it ‘better’ but that’s been a bit lacking. Aside from the M series chips. Those are really top notch chips and I would say the best thing Apple has created decades.
My disappointment is that the line has changed the design of the iPhone 11 to the design of the iPhone 12. I'm also tired of seeing the same rectangular design year after year. Even the new SE4 they managed to ruin by using the chassis from the iPhone 12...
Must be folks who upgrade every year. I just upgraded to a 16 Pro Max, Series 9 AW, and AirPods Pro 2 from a 13/series 3 AW/Airpods 1st Gen. I’m completely satisfied
My iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 16.2 is buggy as hell. I'll lose touch capability for up to 30 seconds at a time then the phone just restarts. It's extremely annoying. For the first time in a decade I'm considering an Android.
I heard their sales are down this year. My iPhone 14 Pro Max has a broken camera and I was really hoping to upgrade to the 16 pro and it just wasn’t different to warrant the price and as a pro user I didn’t want any to get a regular 16 despite the better colors so I’m waiting another year with a broken camera
I upgraded from an iPhone 13 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. I have been using iPhone since day one. My iPhone 16 Pro purchase has been the first disappointing iPhone purchase I've experienced. I wasn't enthralled with iPhone X to the iPhone 13 Pro, but the iPhone 16 Pro has definitely been my biggest Apple purchase disappointment.
I completely agree. From my perspective the rot started when they dropped the 'projects' sessions from the in-store 'Today at Apple'. I attended so many and learned so much, and got deep into each of my products, but not it seems they don't give a stuff and I feel like a stranger in my local store. I feel completely abandoned by Apple.
My iPhone 16 pro sucks what's wrong with apple? Never had I experienced that much of issues since my iPhone 4s! It restarts suddenly without a reason, some apps lag, it would overheat just by using google maps or camera app, sometimes when writing the text, the touch screen becomes unresponsive, phone is so choppy and laggy!!!! You can't even take a picture when if you're on a call. This disgusting device costed me a lot of money
I partially blame the vision pro for this. It took away so much rnd budget (which was already struggling with the loss of top talent and stagnation) that now each device update wise is only getting less then a fraction of what it should need
I’m a bit confused by your comment on the AVP. I use it for work with my MBP and I find it to be THE work environment that I prefer. I’m in international finance I travel constantly and it allows me to bring a complete office setup with me everywhere
I think on a lot of points you are right however, I also think that this is a tech-industry problem and not an Apple one. I think we as people, nearly hit the pinnacle of "life-changing" products, that do not feel gimmicky to the average joe. For example, for those who are into CES, there are A LOT of awesome tech created everyday, very useful but it's not taking off. For the few variables either feeling gimmicky to people, or it's just not a dramatic shift for people. Smart-glasses are starting to be the next "hot-item" but I think that will only go so until there's a huge cultural shift... that can go for any tech product.

The Apple actually had the exact same situation decades ago, you probably just don't know: both times the reason was - Steve left.
Iam an Apple fanboy, but the truth is that Apple has shifted to playing it safe, abandoning the innovation that once defined the company. We’re about to see 5G-enabled MacBooks with Oled screens running on Apple’s amazing success of a processor. They also added satellite support and AI integrations. Apple shifted gears and it may have not impressed you as they shifted resources away from their lesser-used products, but they’ve been making insanely great strides. That’s why they continue to increase their worth.
The problem is these companies don’t reinvest enough time or money into their products or services. The money is just held there for investors to cash out when they’re ready to, the problem is everywhere.
Thank you for pointing out that this isn’t just an Apple problem. The only person here with common sense.
with a .4% annual dividend yield, I wouldn’t say that investors are cashing out.
Only one permanent innovation is called "make shareholders happy".
I wouldn't call in that way. Apple is amongst the top 5 companies in terms of R&D spending in % of their profit.

When Apple finally releases a Foldable iPhone using a Samsung Display Screen and calling it revolutionary, I'll be on my Scrollable/Rollable Samsung Galaxy Phone lol.
the reliable way to contact non apple users is through what’s app everything else is dog shit
My iPhone 16 feels gimmicky, the camera button is a joke 😂
The button itself isn't a joke. It is actually a very good input for the camera albiet in the wrong position. It is however a bad justification to justify an upgrade from an older iphone to the 16 line. Anyone with a working iPhone is better off staying where they are.
1% of people will use it. I am the only person I know who take pictures horizontally!
Man but you bought it...

You are right.I am the biggest Apple fan and getting the 16 pro max was the first time I felt like Android was a step above…. iOS is too limited
Android is way ahead.

As far as app quality is concerned, that IS subjective as I have used the same app on one platform which behaves much better or has more features than the other and vise versa. In any case, your views as a "developer" is pointless as the article is projected from an end users perspective. Your attitude comes across as concieted.
I think it would take a whole lot of Jesus and Gospel for you to do anything significant in product development.
Perhaps they do have a new Jony Ive there but they don’t have a public face or leadership position like Jony did?
You are correct 💯
I could also run the product development better. Why? I fully understand how Steve Jobs was seeing the world and thinking. I was monitoring his moves for 30 years. Apple became nowadays exactly what was IBM/Microsoft which Apple ridiculed in their Mac vs PC ads.
If you were the Founder of Apple? What exactly would you do.
For me? I will make updates that SPEED UP phones.
I would make the IPhones cheaper like Androids
And if I do need to make another Apple product, I will try to make it different and of course faster.

The universal “back button” is probably the only thing I miss from Android sometimes.

All good things must eventually come to an end. I say that as the biggest Apple Fanboy.
I agree wholeheartedly. The i noticed this when Apple began to neglect iTunes aka Apple Music. The UI is stale and buggy. Adding music to my phone is a pain in the rump now. They removed the ability to see what albums from specific artists can go on by checking them, the album cover art randomly changes to artists and covers of music that I don’t even have (that’s a metadata problem and it’s been going on for a long time.)
Then they remove charges from the iPhone box, don’t reduce the price by $30 (ask in the name of “the environment “) then they sell MAKE & SELL the chargers anyway while LITERALLY shouting from the rooftop of their building that there’s enough chargers on earth already (but give us $30 for the charger we’re not going to give you anymore and not reduce the price by that same $30 for the phone).
(I’m unaware if Steve really said that, but it seems to be Tim’s moniker.)
I could go on, but you’ve presented great cases here and my hand has better things to do than point out more of Craig & Tim’s failures.
@@00z53 Because it is lame… You’re bloating an OS with unnecessary features that don’t benefit the user at all, that’s inherently bad UX design

Mac Mini is garbage... You can't even upgrade the memory or storage on a desktop device unlike all it's competitors.

But worse experience of all is AirPods Pro 2 disconnecting and connecting abruptly minute in minute out. This happens every now and then and goes away for a while after resetting them. I’m the biggest Apple fan I personally know and I’m very frustrated with Apple.
I haven't had that problem. Maybe you didn't check your iOS version is most recent.

If you say so Tim
A better question is, who has even come close to what they have so far? On the desktop, no one. On the laptop, maybe those ARM-based Surface, but their launch is all whacked out and not taking off so well. On the phone, the Samsung S24U/S25U is a worthy competitor except the business model of the OS is to sell your identity down the river.
@@Äpple-pie-5k Everything thing you have mentioned is subjective.
@@joeking22 OS RAM bloat is objective. Geekbench single and multi-core are objective. CPU performance per watt?--It's objective. ARM-based Windows sales figures are objective. The Google/Android business model of profiling user identity and selling it for ads, is also objective fact.
I expected you to be right and looked for something subjective I said, but it turns out it's all 100% objective. Fancy that. Seems you need an epistemological primer on the meaning of the two terms.
Could our want for the perfect iPhone or product X be the deterrent of “the next big thing?”
I don’t have the answer to this “question” and no one does.
The earliest ascription to Ford appeared in a letter sent to the UK publication Marketing Week in 2001:
„Being market-led implies being led by the consumer - and consumers are bad at coming up with innovations (Henry Ford’s quote: “If I had asked my customers what they wanted they would have said a faster horse” springs to mind…)“
Yet Henry Ford died in 1947, so the evidence connecting him to the quotation appears to be very weak.

Samsung is iphone from Aliexpress
@MrCungaLunga iphone is an LG Prada from a sweatshop called Foxconn.
Apple robot? Glasses? Where’s the apple car? Yawn
Who could have money for apple robot? Probably would cost more than the house in which it should help.
People are mad that the Vision Pro released and is a gen 1 product instead of a gen 5 product. Like…no shit right? The first iPhone didn’t even have copy and paste. Give them time to cook. They already laid the foundation to build on

I just upgraded from an iphone 13 to an iphone 15 pro max. The only thing thats different is the USB port and the texture on the back, and the dynamic island. I miss the iphone mini of 2021
Feels wrong to be here this early😳
Happy New Year's
Give Apple a break! The AVP is still very young. It needs a killer application to take it to the next level. The Apple II was once seen as an expensive toy until VisiCalc made it one of the most successful products in history. Many critics forget the AVP has a built-in computer and the equivalent of 8 4K screens.
Bruh it’s been discontinued
@ They reduced production. They didn't discontinue it. It's still on their website. Stop the hate.
@ no hate, just facts, they’re phasing it out completely
Why they don't create visionary products is obvious. Every product concept Steve Jobs had in his mind have been delivered.

The iPhone in my opinion has become very boring and stagnant. And this is coming from a 16 Pro user😂
Ones you get woke, you get broke
Define woke.
Please make a video on the Siri scandal where iPhone used to listen to voice and Apple sold the data to 3rd parties
