    Owned an R32 gtst for 3 years and have just bought an FG xr6 turbo, when I drive the 32 all I can think is the drivetrain is shit compared to the falcon and when I drive the falcon all I think is the handling is shit compared to the 32, this guy has built a beast

      personally i wouldnt go over about 400-500hp, but i'd go the barra for the low end torque compared to an rb, the gearbox feels a lot tighter plus you get a 6 speed for highway driving, not to mention cheap parts and much more reliable

  • @jamesfrench7299

    Who'd have imagined that one day the Falcon six is so good that they would replace a Nissan six with a six from the Ford Falcon to increase performance. Unthinkable before the Barra came out.

    • @willd0g
      @willd0g 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christopher Powell I'm curious also; will these engines be just as venerable or as legendary as say a 2JZ?

    • @joshg6et98
      @joshg6et98 7 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      willd0g In time. The 2jz has had decades of rnd. The barra is a bigger motor with incredible potential. People are already making over 2200hp with them. Americans have noticed the barra and have started importing them.

    • @joshg6et98
      @joshg6et98 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Jza80supra1 King How would racing each other prove what motor is better? The most powerful 2jz ever was 2200 and it lasted a few runs. Before that, not much over 2000. The 2jz is 26 years old with shitloads of research and development. The barra is half it's age and is already in cars making over 2200hp and hasn't popped. In another few years with r&d it's only going to get better.

    • @Ihaveabigbrownbear
      @Ihaveabigbrownbear 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      You sir are full of shit, the 'REAL' 2jz powered drag cars (full bodied) are making up to 1700hp to run a 7 second quarter at 190mph. There are very few in existence and these engines are all billet, CNC machined and basically use few components from the factory 2j. In short you are talking shit and your dog runs away from you because you keep dribbling on him. Now tell me I'm wrong and you and your mates 1900hp supras run on pump 93 octane 'every day of the week '

    Thanks for another great video, would have been great to hear about some of the engine management strategies which the Elite 2500 was taking care of. Boost by gear and Launch Control for power management, engine protection failsafes and perhaps the possible use of drive by wire in the future 😉

    I believe the Barra is now the 6 cylinder version of the LS. Like the L18 or the 2 liter ohc Ford was the 4 cylinder, the Hemi 265 was the 6 and the SBC or Cleveland was the V8 in the 70's in Australia. Cheap easy reliable power is what it's all about not some money pit that barely held together when stock . Once you want double stock HP standard motor type for chassis becomes irrelevant.

      You Yanks have the ls3, all aluminium top to bottom with 6 bolt mains from the factory. That's pretty impressive. Yes I have a FPV F6E with the "barra" factory fitted and it does beat every factory ls3 around, but it sounds terrible.For you guys in the US, you cant go wrong with a big cam, big stall and twin 3" exhaust.

      2burning2turning true, but I have a soft spot for an inline sixes and we just don't have any... You can import a RB or a 2J, but I am a Ford fan... And seriously jealous.

    Man, I really thought this was gonna be an R32 inspired by the Grim Reaper R32 in Initial D. Turns out the guy's name is grim. Sad times ahead for ol' NoT2BaD
