I left Academia 3 months ago, but was thinking about it 3 yrs ago after more than 5 years of post-doc. The reason of three wasted years was my fear of a change, fear it is too late. Now I am in my very late 30s in entry level, corporate job. Not a dream but still better as more stable than academia job.
@@TheBoldPhD It is always good to know there are others in similar situation. I will be 40 late next year so, yes new beginning and who knows maybe best of life will happen in 40s?
I’m a neurobiologist MSc, PhD, i just finished my PhD I am aiming for a job position as scientific/medical writer. I would appreciate any advice in how to transition
I have a Masters degree in biology and am an adjunct at two community colleges. Reaaaaallly want to be full time but doesn’t look like it. I’ve been adjuncting since 2018. Can you do a video on other careers (especially work from home) that frustrated adjuncts can transition too. I’m really interested in science writing. Is it a rewarding job with security? Can someone without a phd become a medical writer?

If it makes you feel better, I am turning 40 this year and I only left academia two years ago. There's time for us! All the best.

I left academia after getting my PhD for 4 years with loads of awesome published manuscripts. Just get bored of the culture.
Yeah, unfortunately sometimes the culture in academia is weird. But it can happen outside academia too.
