Great comparison, to the point. I had the Capistan and now have the Tape Core. They are so close that with the price difference the Tape Core was the obvious choice for me.
I've owned dozens of delay pedals in all sorts of prize categories but I sold the El Cap within 2 weeks and together with my old big box DMM that little NuX is my favorite of them all. It really is that special.
toetappin bob The big plus with the Atlantic is you can choose to either put the reverb before or after the delay which opens up different options and sounds. I have more than enough delay pedals but I have been super impressed with the quality of the Atlantic especially if you can get one at a good price. I got the Tape Core because it seemed too good to be true based on the variety of delay options plus looping at a very modest price. I have a Caitlenbread Echorec and the Tape Core is not far behind it for a third of the price!
David S cheers heaps. So much info. Atlantic first (and honestly at the price Tape Core later). A big thanks to ‘delay dude’ - seems your quality demos create quality convo.
I have the Tubeman MKii and sounds really great. I liked it more than the Ibanez TS Mini, thought, the Tubeman is cleaner from the minimal gain but gets muddier as you raise the gain pot.
I run a stereo chorus before delay, so only a having mono input is a deal breaker for me right off the bat, regardless of how it sounds. All stereo out pedals should have stereo ins.
I have the Tape Core and think it’s a fantastic sounding tape delay especially for its low price around £60 new in UK, it’s has all the parameter controls you should need especially if you use with the app. I also have the NUX Mod core, Komp core and Morning Star and I can’t fault any of them for their price, they all sound great and are well built. Thanks for your comparison video it’s good to hear a direct comparison with the Strymon El Cap.
I have and like both. They sound great, obviously. But there's one BIG difference: The ElCap never distorts! The NUX produces large amounts of digital distortion, which makes me only use it at home (just let it oscillate once...). This true with many cheap delays, but one of the many reasons the ElCap really shines.
Great review. Thank you. I own the Tape Core and love it. I'm very picky and own about 10 delay pedals. For the money the Tape Core is hard to beat and with the editor it's fun to work with. And not to forget the possibility to store 7 presets. It's a bummer it is a kind of underdog.
El tape core tiene el PROBLEMA de cuando vuelves del tap tempo el pedal se apaga. Otros pedales, al salir del tap tempo, vuelven a su configuración seleccionada.
It's seems the Strymon compress and slightly modifies the guitar sound unlike the nux which seems pretty neutral. It's give to the Strymon a thicker response and it has more settings capabilities so maybe you have more possibilities that we cannot see inthis vid.
Hello, I should buy a stereo echo to pair with my tc flascback delay. What do you think about it? Is it more suitable t-rex replay stereo, thera echo boss stereo or this nux tape core (entarta mono - stereo output)? The problem is it's not stereo but it works really well. For what it costs maybe it is better to buy 2 and do the double line with the other stereo effects that I already have in this sequence: VESTA FIRE STEREO CHORUS - TC FLASCH BACK STEREO - 2 for NUX TAPE CHORE? - TC LOOPER FIRM X2. Thank you very much
@@delaydude hi yes l did and l was surprised. El cap has its own "spirit" and is awesome delay but nux for the price do the job better than expected, repeats are clear and nice sounding, mix knob is great. Overall another great cheap pedal. Defo recommended to everyone.
@@delaydude it is!! new is around 60e, unbeatable. Today lm letting go my Ventris, also great but lm missing something in this pedal its lifeless , Mercury 7 on the radar
@@delaydude Hello, I read you have an Echosystem. Do you think the Tape Core fits well with the Echosystem to do ambience/experimental/weird music? Thanks
Had the NUX and it had a nasty loud pop when bypassing pedal. The pop continued to trail off like the delay. Totally unusable and returned. Not uncommon problem with that pedal. Shame as it sounded pretty good!

NUX pedals are great value for money, good quality sounds and construction. I have the Tape Core and Atlantic delays. Highly recommended.
Great info. I was juggling between the two (not sure if I need all the Atlantic verb) - would you recommend one over the other?

toetappin bob One other point - the build quality of the NUX pedals is very impressive. Solid and dependable.
David S 👍👍👍
amazing. i already got 2 nux pedals on my board. not due to price reasons, they sound really great.
Yeah the quality stands out straight away.
Bought an NUX Stageman based on price, and it’s become the rock of my acoustic rig.

Thanks just the comparison I was looking for. I think the Nux is more what I want, sounds less pristine than the Strymon

A question: Is it possible to save a program preset and use it without having the pedal connected to the computer?
@@golosa009
Yes of course, you do your settings, save them. After disconnecting from PC the pedal holds the presets.

If only the Tape Core offered stereo input...
This is the only NUX delay pedal i have respect, this was made really good especially for the price.
The Atlantic is pretty awesome too.
Fantastic!

Great sound quality demo.

Does anyone know if the Nux keeps the the dry signal analog or does it make the entire signal digital?
Also el Capistan fan but lm reviwing tape core tomorrow, bought for 40e, l'll see if nux is really that good 🤔 great video

Not a lot in it ... ! Strymon a little brighter? I tend to prefer darker sounds/EQ settings anyway ... Great comparison! 👍🏼
Love your vids, very helpful! If you could only have two delays, which two would you pick? Thank you

Your video does not make it clear which pedal is engaged. Confusing!
It is indicated by the status LEDs. 🙂
Wow. NUX is better!
Strymon is loud
