The NUX Tape Echo is a very capable and admirable homage to the original Space Echo. I discovered something on it this evening while I was playing around with the 'Self-Feedback' function, that previously had left me scratching my head a little (see my full demo). But I think this is what it's all about, so I wanted to share it as it's not spelled out clearly in the manual. It may be the case that the original works this way too, but frankly I do not know and can't remember. But this is pretty cool, I think.

What I like about this is it shows that you don't just demo a pedal and put it away/send it back/sell it you're actually playing around with it to see what it can do afterwards. Maybe most of the people who do gear demos are the same (Who knows?) but it's a nice thing to see whatever.

It's up there with the boss re2 . Very tweakable . Screen . Authentic tape speed .Lots to like .
You really have earned my respect Brett, for what that's worth. Thanks for sharing your find, I could never fully understand what is going on with this pedal, it all seems like a total mystery. You clearly love soaking up the technical side of gear and dunces like me love having a glimpse at the vast amount of technical info that goes with musical gear. I'm 62 and have played guitar since I was 15 but until Covid I had no interest in such things. I soak up info at a snails pace. All in good time.
NUX and MOOER, etc many of these Chinese off brands are seriously making some impressive gear!!! Awesome review Brett!!

Nux is coming-on hard. Just like Mooer.....Budget pedals are gaining-on the major companies in terms of features, value & sound quality.

Love it! Do you know if the Re-202 has a comparable function? On the fence about whether to go with the NUX or the Boss. I have the NUX Atlantic which i love, just trying to figure out which of these tape echos would be better overall value. Thanks!

Hello, sorry, can the pedal activate the tap tempo without having the effect activated? I mean using the tap tempo with the "on" button off, as well as the boss re-20 and being able to mark the repeat time I want without activating the effect and ruining the song I'm playing
I was snobbish about NUX, presuming it was another cheap brand that lacked clarity clogging up amazon sales for new players wanting to get into fx. But this thing genuinely sounds ace and easily sounds like tape echos twice the price. I am looking for a cheap vibe pedal at the moment and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the NUX Voodoo Vibe?
