I think capturing resetting the chain is based on a poll they had on the discord.
Would you rather have:
1. Chains breaking on capturing
2. Chains breaking upon fainting
1 = 4.8k votes, 2 = 1.15k votes
I'm pretty sure it was what would add to the chain:
1. Adds to the chain when a Tanorio is fainted however the odds wouldn't be as good as capturing
2. Capturing Tanorians adds to the chain and the odds are better
And option 1 won

Considering I have yet to get my chain target and im up to 12 shinies. I think the system is broken. The chains either do nothing or they increase shiny rate of everything. Theres no way im just getting 12 full ods in that short of a time :O
Jamal_2 still does not have a shiny deer after a 500 chain and like 6 hours of playtime

I agree it’s strange they decided if you catch a full on shiny then your chain will be reset

i got a shiny usbee from a chain of 15 and a shiny bulldog in the mine was the first encounter i got i think it will be easier to get them

Because shiny odds can increase as much as they want, instead of having a fixed limit. If ToT does this it will be amazing, but for now ToT chaining sucks sadly.

Bro the shiny chances are rigged and having a dw style of chaining will be very useful. And maybe when you press the cbain it shows you your chances of getting a shiny
