At this point, you are one of the best reviewers out there. You are up there with my favorate reviewers such as Glenn Webb, The Fwoosh and unparalleled universe. You are always straight to the point and you have energy in talking, unlike other reviewers who don't have the energy, so in some cases it feels like they don't really care about the fig. Krypton Man would be cool. I'd totally use it as a stand in for Jor-El. I can see them doing Beyond for sure.
Am I the only one waiting for a long haired Supes version? Lmao, and tbh this is the most Posable Supes in my Collection. Even though his body mold may look weird at times, it is still a great figure to play with nonetheless. Nowall we need is version of this Supes WITH a relaxed smiling head and I think I would be happy with it!
Not at all, I want long-haired Superman too. I also want that 90s version of Aquaman with the fish hook for a hand.
While this mold does look much better, I think my biggest problem with it is that outside the page punchers and rebirth every single batman was taller than him, I think given how much reuse there is we could have maybe seen a reworking of the torso here for the supermen going forward

Excellent review! I bought 2 with the intentions of doing an Action Comics #1000 head swap and using the Jim Lee angry head to create a more classic Bizarro. I don't know if I will switch out the Bizarro "\S/" with an Infected Superman "\S/" and just leave the head as is or put it on the Bizarro body and swap Infected Superman trunks, paint the boots and head. The Angry Jim Lee Head looked fantastic on the infected body.

Hey Jason, another great review man. 👍Minus the angry headsculpt, which can easily be replaced if you have other Superman figs from McFarlane, this is the Superman I've been waiting for. I'm just glad McFarlane didn't glue the Poison Ivy vines to the figure itself as I wouldn't have put it past him to have done just that so we'd buy more Superman figure from him in search of the perfect one. 😂

@@5POAFigureReviews yeah! I was waiting for the head swaps, especially with the rebirth head, it is what I had in mind but the angry face is growing in me, I may not swap it after all, I'm still waiting for it to arrive... We'll see!
Just got mine last week and it's even better in hand. loads of fun posing this one. My only gripe is since this is now an older buck it's decidedly smaller than the newer figures. Pretty sure this can be narrowed down to the thigh part of the legs. Might warrant a swap to stand up to that Batman Hush mold. Superman should be taller than most standard league members anyway imo.
Batman hush is too big imo, prefer if they make them shorter instead of making them giant, so they can scale with other lines better and extra plastic comes in as extra hands
Yeah, it's frustrating how scale is still an issue. Working on my next video right now (Page Punchers Batman) and it's even worse, but in the opposite direction.

Have you taken a look at the Blackest Night version of Superman.
It’s actually the perfect body for Superman. He’s taller, bulky but slim.
Literally all they would have to do is retool it to to make a classic Superman!

I just got the wave for Kyle Rayner and Atrocitus and wound up love if the Superman despite his zombie appearance.
That's a different superman though, Kal-L was much more barrel chested than Kal-El so he should look bigger.

Agreed. A lot of people put the rebirth arms and abs with the Action Comics 1000 chest and it does balance it out better.

Considering the ridiculous price scalp... umm I mean "sellers" are asking for on the secondary market and just how unnecessarily difficult to obtain this is nowadays, I'll just wait for what should be the "easier and cheaper to get" standard ver. In the meantime I am more than happy with my tmac action comics supes despite not having the yellow logo on the back of his cape.
I'm sure that regular one will be around soon, and when it does the price will come down on this one.

Just for the head swaps alone it's one of my favorite McFarlane Supermen
I fully intended to head swap this for the rebirth head but this head is starting to grow on me and besides out of all of my rebirth heads the flesh tone is just way too bronze!
Yeah, tbh I like his head and really hope the eventual non laser eyes version is a new static version of this head instead of just reusing Rebirth. But for now Rebirth will do.

How off is the AC1000 head on this body based on the paints. I skipped Rebirth since I was already happy with my AC1000. Planning to use my AC1000 head for the Hush body. I really don't want to purchase the Rebirth just for the head.
I think you can pull it off. Hush is a little paler, but not so bad it's worth buying a whole figure you don't want.
This is the best McFarlane Superman imo Way better than the Rebirth and Page punchers... It also wins for me over the action comics 1000
I really REALLY love Action Comics 1000 but this is really winning me over. Can't wait to see the inevitable standard version.

I don’t know this proportions are just not for me he looks too big and the cape is kinda ugly for me but it’s nice it has the s in the back
Understandable. When I look at a Superman, I always ask myself if I can imagine him in a suit as Clark Kent. This one is definitely a bit too larger than life for that.

He’s so close to great, about as close a Mcfarlane Superman has been so far. But my problems both with this body and the line in general are still present;
Todd loves detailed costumes and cool looking characters which is why this body has unnecessary panel lines, but he clearly either hates or doesn’t understand what muscle definition is. All of his figures’ thighs look like sacks of potatoes. They’re so tubular. And say what you will about Legends but they at least have that figured out. You could argue he’s striving for realism, by showing the costume stretching over the muscles, but it’s not really sculpted in a way to suggest that. Legends has a couple sculpts that do that but they still show the necessary detail sculpting.
Also I cannot for the life of me understand why companies have to make it so unnecessarily difficult for themselves to execute hip joints correctly. The Legends ball and socket is about one of the best ways of you’re talking about domestic figures. The design Mcfarlane has right now I’m wary about it holding up over time.
Plus the diaper is almost never well executed. They usually hike it up too high and don’t cut out enough on the bottom to allow the leg to move.
It's funny l bought this figure today (the reg. ver.) so l could convert it into the 1941 MAX FLETCHER SUPERMAN .

@@5POAFigureReviews OH, l'm not a phone guy, l don't do Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Second I'll have to postpone the customization due to the fact that while carving the emblem out of the figures chest I ended cutting myself and was bleeding profusely, l thought l needed to run to the hospital for stitches, but after several minutes applying pressure it stopped, third the figure you were reviewing, l had done that with the DARK KNIGHT RETURNS SUPERMAN .
If we don’t get a Hush Poison Ivy what are we even doing?
For real. I want Hush versions of everyone, but most especially her. And Scarecrow. And Riddler.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't personally had that issue, though I can usually pop them out when I need to.
Man I'm liable to get dc figures over marvel, those windowless boxes terrify me to no end. I've seen some baaaaaaaaad quality control issues with the windows.
My hope is that the backlash will be such that Hasbro will have no choice but to find a compromise. Until then, I will be very choosy. And hey, action figure wise, DC is on a hot streak.

Yeah McFarlane really like to make Superman (whose powers come from sunshine) awfully pale.
