If anyone is in this area of Chile, it's definitely worth doing a guided trip to the top of the Villarrica volcano. It's a decent climb, but the views are incredible and the glissading down is awesome!

I have a Gravel Bike and a Trail MTB but watching your videos has inspired me to think about getting a XC bike and ride some races or a triathlon. Now to figure out what brand I might want to get.
Amazing work by all, Congrats! What is your setup for dash computer and power meter? So many options on the Stages Cycling link you listed with all the other things.
We run the Dash L200 computer with XTR power meters. The key with the power meter is simply to get one that matches your existing crankset (same model and length).
We've done a lot of skills work with Lee of Lee Likes Bikes and he focuses a lot on body position which makes a big difference for balance. We also do a lot of one-legged/one-armed gym work which helps with balance.
Ok Macky remember to put a new cap on Syds stem , you both are doing very well . I like how Macky talks to himself in the race ( self motivation) at least I’m not the only one that does this lol
Does the Stages Dash have a slot for a leash or tether to the handlebars? Macky also had his Dash eject in a race. With a leash it would still be wrapped around the handlebars. I appreciate having one on my Garmin just in case.
Macky what do you think of the maxxis rekon race in 29x2.4 as a rear tire? I do XC all Mountain kind of style, by the way you are the most complete rider, you can do all diciplines in ciclyng

Someone sign that dog to a pro team hehe. Also kinda of an interesting POV thing. To those of us who are not pro racers, the thought of not being happy with your riding despite taking 1st is foreign.
I actually think it's really important to have goal and objectives that aren't results based, that way you can have wins even when you aren't winning (which realistically, in this sport, is most of the time). The flip side is you can sometimes fail on some of your personal objectives and still win the race 😂 i definitely have things in perspective and overall I'm stoked on my performance this day, but I let some opportunities slip by on the final road section, which is what I was frustrated about. There's always opportunities to learn, even if you're winning :)

Interesting you say that about gravel racing because I'm watching this as someone who does gravel races and thinking this is very similar to Ohio gravel racing lol. Mixing in single track has gotten so popular i cant tell the difference from xc and gravel races anymore.
The third person and drone footage is from the race media crew! As for the bottle cap, i took it off right before the start to tighten my headset and temporarily misplaced it. It will be back 😂

There are specifically trained dog that roam the mountains by cities and villages in Chile that are basically the first responders they are not mark

Sadly, unknown. But we found out later that apparently he completed the entire course last year as well 😂

That’s pretty common in mountain bike racing. People are generally pretty helpful and good sports.

Not 100% sure, but we think so! At the point Syd last saw him he pretty much would have had to finish it to get home...

You couldn’t respond because you didn’t spend an hour warming up. A full hour warmup is absolutely necessary for racing at that level.

Occasional freeze but they happened on the 9s too and we put new batteries in each morning to avoid any drain issues.
