  • Photoshop CC 2203 Ai tutorial showing how to combine photos using Generative Fill and Sky Replacement.
    NOTE: Many people have expressed their thoughts to me about using AI to images. Here's my take: There's a clear distinction between incorporating Generative Fill in Photoshop as opposed to creating entire images solely with AI. In the latter, typing in prompts repeatedly until you like what AI comes up with is not an act of creation. Same for CPT. It’s simply telling AI what you want and letting it create it rather than creating it yourself. On the other hand, Generative Fill is simply a powerful tool in Photoshop's toolbox that saves an enormous amount of time and energy and if used in conjunction with filters within PS, one can create wondrous images. I say this as a retired professional graphic artist and illustrator who started my journey in the pre-digital world. I still create my own artworks, but digitally now with zero AI. bluelightningt...

    Dear Mr. Geller, I want to express my gratitude for you, your channel, and the content you create. I was unable to use Photoshop until I found your channel several years ago. You explained and demonstrated everything so clearly and concisely. Every other channel I watched, the content creators always assumed the viewer had at least some basic knowledge of Photoshop, which I did not. You took me from being able to open a new document all the way to creating seamless composites. I am a professional photographer and my ability to create far better images than I ever had is in large part due to your tutorials. Thank you, thank you more than I can say.

    All very interesting that AI, but not for me. One of the reasons I am learning Blender besides using Photoshop for my work. Creating my own stuff.
    But I keep follow you Marty. Alot of ideas come from you for almost a decade now.

      Agree. I don't like AI. I'd rather create digital artwork myself. I don't mind this example, as it's only replacing a sky, which is useful. But I hate to see entire images created solely by AI, it's not art to me.
      Photography and digital art sites, such as Flickr, are now flooded with AI image, as are contests and competitions. I'm all for moving with the times, and each to their own, but I don't like it.
      And before anyone criticises, yes, art is subjective and each to their own.

    Thanks so much for so many creative ideas. Marty, I have seen too many opinions on how best to sharpen photos in prep for directing them to commercial printers, and I wondered if you have or will make a video showing beginners the 'best' way to properly sharpen. I know PS has many options, but wondered which method you typically use. Thank you - this will help the novices in our camera club how to do this...and to get them more comfortable with PS.

      I like to use "High Pass". I did a tutorial on the subject 11 years ago. Even though it's very old, it does give a general idea of the different sharpening options. Please forgive my fast-paced way of speaking and the general low-quality. th-cam.com/video/9IKPsmZaHkA/w-d-xo.html&t=

    One of the problems with AI is that we're in danger of going back to the very early 2000's when digital cameras hit the shelves; we started to loose the ability of good photography because it was getting too easy, and the fatal mistake of thinking we'll fix it in Photoshop (then known as Photodeluxe). We forgot the lessons we learned in the darkroom and we became lazy and useless, with the industry suffering for it; I know a few photographers who were forced to seek employment in other carees. Fast forward some decade and a half and we learned our lesson and started to produce quality again, and with the improvement of both hardware and software we now can do things few people on this planet could do twenty years ago. My fear is that AI is a repeat before we have the sense to value skill over automation. My two cents worth anyway.

      I agree. AI is here to stay, but once our immediate fascination burns out, it'll be back to basics. Here's my take on using AI for visuals and the written word: Typing in prompts to create entire images solely based on AI is NOT an act of creation. Same for CPT. It’s simply telling AI what you want rather than creating it yourself. One must rely on what it spits out. @@BLTV_Photoshop That's the comment I've been waiting for, artificial intelligence speeds things up, but it wasn't developed for professionals, it was developed for beginners..

    Would this work in a green screen context? I plan on using miniature dioramas with green screen as a background for skies.

    • @BLTV_Photoshop
      @BLTV_Photoshop  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically, a green screen doesn't combine images with AI. You have to separate the foreground with green screen behind it and then use a full screen image of a sky that fills the green screen.

    Hi Marty. Great video. Couple of questions if you don't mind. What is the reason you make the images a smart object? Secondly, I feel the large rock on the left is very slightly shrouded by the imported sky. Is there a way to address that?

    • @BLTV_Photoshop
      @BLTV_Photoshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      To use the Sky Replacement, Photoshop needs to see the entire image as one layer. It can be a composite snapshot (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E) or a Smart Object. You can unshroud or shroud any part of the top of the landscape by twirling open the Sky Replacement filter layers in the Layers panel and brushing in white or black over the layer mask associated with it.

      @indrajitadvani3742 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wish it would get out of Beta already because I am paying for Photoshop which is just plain crap. The interface looks nothing like I see here, so, I might have to see if I can use the Beta.

    • @BLTV_Photoshop

      Presently, there are two PS versions. One is CC 2023 and the other is the Beta version (24.7)..

    • @WilliamWallaceRoss
      @WilliamWallaceRoss ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BLTV_Photoshop I think I found the issue. PS prefers JPG images, not RAW, so, when I opened a RAW image a different part of the software kicked in, which I didn't recognize. Then, I opened a JPG and it looked more like the BETA with all the tools on the left hand side.

      FYI: I still upload PS tutorials that don't avail itself to AI. Last week's video, "How to Create a Soft, Romantic, Photo Portrait" had nothing to do with AI.
