Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

What I love the most about this episode is the transition from a sceptical Rebecca, with a seemingly convincing assumption of Jimmy, based on Chuck's view, to a complete revelation seeing Jimmy as a loving, funny and emotional human being. And the final joke seems to indicate that she appreciates the contrast that Jimmy's presence contributes with, giving how serious and almost lifeless Chuck's personality is in comparison. But not even Chuck's sight of seeing his wife appreciating his brother (fully aware how much it means to Jimmy) is tolarable. It's so sad. Especially knowing the full story...

I just realized, Chuck having Jimmy wipe his feet at the doormat upon entry is similar to later on when Chuck makes sure everyone who enters his house is "grounded" and discharges their electricity
Alternatively, it might be because he deems Jimmy as "impure". The rule might be relaxed for others while he ENSURES Jimmy does it right. It might reflect how Chuck already had a disdain for Jimmy, but other factors, especially the divorce, amplified it and fully realized it. Both Jimmy and Chuck became the worst versions of themselves.

the sad thing is, if Chuck just told Jimmy everything he was feeling and screamed at him about what happened with their father in the shop, how he generally makes him feel maybe even without realizing how inferior he makes Jimmy feel, things would be different but ironic to Chuck's speech when he said "deep down you know that I'm right" and "Slippin' Jimmy with a law degree is like a chimp with a machine gun" is that deep down, he knew he was wrong to treat Jimmy this way but could never admit it, not even to himself.

One thing I've learned in business is when you find someone who is better than you at something... befriend them. I've been able to work through a number of tough situations because of mutual support, where I can support them with skills I'm better at, and they similarly support me with skills they are better at. Additionally, simply by working with them, I can at least strengthen those skills where I am lacking, and I build up my reputation as I help them through the issues they are having problems with.
