Like you, I also think the reactions to the price were overblown but you could’ve done a price breakdown and compared features to other comparable $500 Bluetooth headphones on the market. But instead you’re telling people they don’t understand the experience when you also don’t have them in hand to experience either. This is just snarky spec-peeping without any constructive analysis. Fr, there’s also reasons to simply question whether the retail price is reasonable or not. Just because Apple says it’s $549 doesn’t mean it should be valued as such. And as you say, comparing similar Bluetooth headphones really put it into perspective.

Okay, Here’s My Take On That Case Thing. I Feel It’s More Of An ‘On-Off Switch’ Kinda Case Rather Than A Protective Case. Yes, They Kinda Protect The Cups (Not Entirely) But, I Feel The Intent Behind Apple Making This Case Is For The Ultra Low Power Thing. Many Might Ask, How About A Simple Button ? But Personally A Button Doesn’t Feel Much Intuitive Of A Product As It Is Right Now. Auto Power Off Is Still Available And It’s After 2 Hours Of Idle Activity. 2 Hours Might Be A Lot For Some But Not A Lot For Some As Well. So, This Case Is Actually Perfect Way To Preserve Battery Life. And For Protection Purpose, You’ll Definitely Get Many 3rd Party Cases For These. Even The Regular AirPods Have Cases. You See Multiple 3rd Parties Making Cases For Them. As a musician and audiophile I wouldn’t spend that on these. Sonys and Bose are more portable and have a sleeker design in my opinion.
@@netmanswe the Sony XM4s are widely regarded as the best in NC, great sound quality, longer battery(by10hours), collapsible, and a case that actually protects them. Also waterproof but I would hope apples are as well. Touch features are worth a mention but are honestly a preference.

@@Crypto-lb7nh Because putting a switch was too hard. Better create the support for "inexpensive" battery replacement instead. For me it is actually the biggest problem, I don't want to use them twice a day for 1h for 5days and then have to charge them just because they lost part of the battery sitting there. It is quite stupid in my opinion. Also, the pxc 550 II from sennheiser have a nice built in switch: whe you turn the earcups they turn on/off...
I usually enjoy his videos because they're nice and chill. But this video just came off as defensive, and almost a bit bratty. Not very enjoyable to watch.

@GayetyNation I don't think the average consumer really cares about touch controls tbh. I agree with MKBHD that it's honestly easier to have a physical button over touch controls. Same with USB-C. But then again these aren't really meant for the average consumer are they...so we'll really just have to see
When you review the comfort of the headphones, please talk about comfort on the ears (not the top of the head) after wearing them for many hours like on a flight. The sony's m noise cancellation is the best with aircraft noise but makes my head surrounding the ears sore (nothing to do with sound) after several hours of use on the airplane. That's my main use case for noise cancelling headphones. Thanks for all of your hard work.

A Case that you have to use if you want them to "turn off" otherwise they stay on for 2 hours. A case that also provides little to no protection(not sure how he can say its protecting them) would you feel confident putting them in a backpack in that case? Or having to carry around by headband. Maybe that was the plan, make case in such a way that you always have to carry them around like that so everyone can see you have them.
I think the case is okay. Minimalistic design enough to prevent scuffs and scratches as well giving access to charge the headphones. The non-folding band makes it difficult to design a non-intrusive sleek case. Would you like carrying around your headphone in some bulky case ? 3rd party cases should be an option if you want full protection.

Question for you Chris. Why does processing an online Apple order take so long. Ordered the HomePod mini in November as a Christmas gift but it’s now December 10 and it still says processing with a listed delivery date of December 23-30th. I need it to arrive in time so I can give it as a Christmas gift. What’s the holdup? Does processing an order really take that long ? The money has already come off my credit card.
Yes we know all of this. But it's still $549 these are just bluetooth headphones. Most of what you'll do is listen to music, so spatial audio won't be important. And for movies, these are good but then again, a good dolby sound bar + a sub woofer would be 100 times better. And for noise cancellation, they're prob similar to sony's . You can't even fold these, and they always stay on unless you put them in that bra case. It's a good product no one is denying that but stop justifying it's price.
I still have not been able to hear spacial audio. I have it activated but I turn my head on things I watch and nothing happens. I have not had the experience you highlight on the pros. Any tips?
Go into your audio slider, and next to transparency mode slider, tap on spatial audio to turn it on. Some content does not support it (lots of stuff on Netflix) so try doing it with Disney+ or Apple TV+. Keep in mind it only works on Airpods pro and Airpod Max

Not all the applications support it yet. I have tried them on HBO Max, Apple TV and it is mindblowing. TH-cam doesn't support it yet. I really hope everyone jumps ship asap because it's like nothing before. Watch unbox therapy's reaction to it.
@Jah they don't do the same thing. The Sonys (which I have) make 3d sound relative to your head, the AirPods Pro (which I have) with spatial audio make 3d sound relative to the device. Its a totally different experience and has resulted in me watching a bunch of video with my AirPods Pro over the Sonys when spatial audio is available.
I’d still rather get a pair of HD600s or T1s. Nothing will justify 550 wireless headphones for me. Especially with such a pathetic “case” and USB to lightning charging. For the love of God, Apple needs to get rid of the lightning connector. Side note: the original AirPods are barely worth 100, mediocre audio and no seal. The AirPods Pro are good if you like balanced audio and reference headphone quality. I don’t hate Apple audio gear, I just can’t justify 550 for wireless headphones.
Good question. I have AirPods Pro, they’re amazing; you can’t go wrong here. You might use the pro more than the max depending on what you do from day to day. I ordered the max for mostly at home, when I can have that over ear comfort and fidelity sounds for much longer than having pros i. Your ears. After a while the pressure from the pros make your ears tired.
Again, very nice content! I tried the airpod max last weekend at the store and I have to agree with the "experience" you don't get with other headphones. I have the bose qc ii and I love them. But after trying this, I wanted to save up my money and buy one for myself! Although I'm looking forward for the review on how comfort they are because my bose are amazing but after 4hrs+ of wearing, it feels uncomfortable and I feel like having a headache. I have to agree, this headphone are definitely AMAZING!
This hits it right on the head, we can really only pass judgement speculatively, once reviews come out then people can decide if the feature set is worth it for the extra $200 (build, spacial audio, automatic device switching) it's very much a product that is not for everyone and I think the amount of disappointment definitely shows that there is a desire for Apple headphones, perhaps a sport model is in the future
If you look at the original leaks and features for these headphones, the original one had excellent features that justified the price, however there was manufacturing issues and they ended up taking out all of those new features but kept the price tag the same. There are essentially AirPods with slightly better sound but with 3 times the price. Apple should’ve waited to release these

At most your get multi point pairing between 2 devices. The auto pairing is with anything apple. Go from your phone to watch to max to iPad and answer a phone call all seamlessly
I have paid more than this for headphones, the type that I use to listen to good recordings through a DAC and amp for several hours. For headphones that I'm going to use outside, are going to get knocked, dropped, ripped off my head on a train etc I want something that is robust and can stand up to that type of use. There is also a good chance I will lose or somehow destroy them and that is were the price can make a difference. An average person can buy the Apple headphones but how badly will it affect their day to see them fall down the stairs and end up in pieces, are they just going to shrug and go buy another? If the cost of replacement is a major blow to someone then they should consider dialling back on the giddy enthusiasm for all things Apple. Apple has a gift for describing quite ordinary things as if they are revolutionary. I've heard a number of people talking about the "amazing" transparancy mode as if no other headphones perform this very standard function. There is more to gripe about but it gets dull. I feel the tone of voice used in this video borders on belligerent.

I think the headphones themselves look great and most likely sound amazing, I question the case if you want to call it that, will it really protect the headphones for $549 plus tax?
What many people don’t understand is that in the world of high end audio $550 is the low end of the scale. I know of a person who recently bought $30,000 headphones, and many audiophiles who routinely spent $1500 or more just on cables and interconnects. If you can’t afford $550 for these, then you are not the target market. You have several less expensive options from Apple.
Totally agree that other reviews have been wrong. Imagine a person who is really into car stereos... wild about them, he walks into a car dealership, sits in the front seat of a fancy sports car, looks at the price and says “What! $45,000 for something to hold my car stereo!?(the car)”. It is ridiculous for him to imagine that is the only function of a car(or Homepod, or Airpods Max), and he is completely ignoring the other functionality.
One of the best looking headphones I’ve seen, plus I love que digital crown... touch gestures really suck on headphones. But the priceeee, even if you have the money, it’s really hard to justify.
They are nice looking and probably sound nice. I have a few issues outside of price that make them a no. Lightning charging, weight, having to use the case-chi chi covers to put them to sleep, they're really big, and the material will get dirty and dirty fast.
Even if apple did have only 25 available, then they should have sold those at $5000. I bet someone will still buy them. You saying there is “”no” demand is just wrong. I will agree at $550, the demand would be lower than if it was $100.
Nice analogy Chris - Lexus v Toyota. Personally I would pay for these at this price and probably will. I like good quality hardware and am prepared to pay top dollar to get this. There are enough products out there that are sub-standard in quality and you pay accordingly. It really is a personal choice whether you believe that these are worth the money. Like all apple products they are priced correctly. Apple haters will always complain and dismiss the things that dictate the price like build quality and unique features. But no one is quoting frequency range. Isn’t this important in gauging hifi quality?
Is it really too much to ask for a hard case to be included. Instead you get what looks like a silicone cover that offers no protection and is required to turn the headphone off from what I can tell. As they don't fold a hard case will be very large and may be your only bit of cabin luggage. I think these might start to be the subject of ridicule.
When mine come in I’m going to measure them and buy the appropriate sized pelican style case that’s got the pick and pull foam, off brands of these range from $15 to $30, easy solution
@@mrfrosty3 It's not part of Apple design language to make super functional cases. There's a reason why you haven't seen any truly protective phone or iPad cases from Apple themselves. Outside of their internal hardware, they are all form over function, which is fine. All the cases that have been made that are truly, truly functional, were made by third parties, possibly "Apple Certified"
It’s a symptom of disappointment. Lots of people were anticipating this as Apple’s take on the Sony XM4s and therefore hoped for a$349 price. The case makes me think Burberry and not Sony, which prices a lot of people out of the product. As Chris says, this is not a Sony or Bose, so the dislikes are due to people hoping to buy one and not being able to. Is it worth $549? We won’t know until we try it. It better be comfortable and it better have great sound quality or else the Apple name isn’t going to save this product.

Spatial audio isn't something exclusive to these headphones. If you played AAA games, with 3D audio, you have experienced it. If you've played VR games, you have experienced it on whatever audio interface you have. To truly experience spatial audio, take off your headphones and listen to everything around you. That is TRUE spatial audio.
your perspective probably comes from a multimedia communication major or so, really creative, good job. also as a customer of the younger generation who always had a need of the balance between aesthetic of the product and the function which it's supposed to do, and AirPods max is the only option I have on the table.
Great video. Spatial audio aside and using your Lexus/Toyota analogy, instead of comparing to the Sony XM4 or Bose 700, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9 (Gen 3) or the Sennheiser RS195 are more comparable though less widely known in terms of price point and quality.
What I want to know is how good a phone conversation in a noisy environment will be for both parties. This is where the Bose 700 is amazing. If Apples AirPod Max will allow me to talk to someone in a very loud environment and they can clearly hear me and I can clearly hear them, I will be interested in checking them out.
Two questions. One: can these replace something like the Audeze EL-8 in terms of audio quality and instrument separation? Two: can you swap the left and right ear cups and reverse the channels in the software config if you want the physical controls on the non-default side of your head?
I got my order in early with the 12/15 to 12/17 delivery date. I can understand all of the complaints but the tech sounds amazing so I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

I ordered my today, and when I personalized them; my ship time went from 12-14 weeks to 8-10 weeks! Also, I ordered the silver so I could eventually order multi-color ear cups to change up the look!!

People keep complaining about price. Isn’t price set based on supply and demand? Obviously the price of homepods were originally too high based on demand and so it was lowered. From what I read about the shortage of supply right now of 3 months and the fact people are marking them up on eBay it sounds like the price is too low at least at this point.

Sony isn't just about their ANC....its just as much about most features end users want and use. Stop throwing hardware and software at consumers, it doesn't tell the whole story.
People never know if price is justified. They only notice what is marketed. R&d, software, product design and the law of dimnishing returns is never considered. Even the aluminium body with colouring can easily cost 100 more than plastic ones.

Sony XM4, are they worth double the price I just dont think they are worth that much. Also the headphones are even heavier until I am able to test out the feel and weight on my head It doesnt justify the price. Then you have the case for the headphones... It does not protect the headband it is a concern for carrying or placing in luggage. I will likely wait for a revision the case and not being able to fold it a major drawback
Devices that are useful can do many things. People are seriously underestimating what AirPods Max can do. Trust me, it's not just about music. It will become clear what I'm talking about in the coming months.

@Jah many reviews have stated these have better sound than the sony xm4s. i have heard them with my own ears and it's true (anecdotally). sound is subjective but the airpods max seem to have a much wider soundstage, less muddy and thumpy bass no matter how loud it gets and super clear highs.
If you like music, you can have an “experience” with any headphone no matter the price. Get the best you can afford and you’ll enjoy the music regardless.
The point is that your $200-300 headphones are not immediately worthless because these $550 headphones came out. You can still have the hype and experience of your current headphones of when you got them. I wouldn’t consider that “broke” talk, that is just using my brain and being grateful for what I have.
Apple's spatial audio isn't unique. Sony offer a similar feature in their headphones. Also, everyone seems to be praising these, so saying that everyone is wrong and then praising them makes no sense. If you're saying everyone is wrong I would be expecting you to say they were bad.
I LOVE the Digital Crown. I find I don't do well with touch and swipes. They just never seem to work for me well on any device. Even the phone. I swipe and swipe and many times calls don't get answered. Not sure if it is something about my skin. So give me a button or dial and I am pleased.
First, great video! Thanks! But.... There is no justification for not including everything needed to “Max out” all features of a $550 device! Not buying that Apple is trying to save the environment by not including charging bricks and cables! It’s nothing more than a cash grab! It’s ridiculous! Fr, there’s also reasons to simply question whether the retail price is reasonable or not. Just because Apple says it’s $549 doesn’t mean it should be valued as such. And as you say, comparing similar Bluetooth headphones really put it into perspective.

Yes, They Kinda Protect The Cups (Not Entirely) But, I Feel The Intent Behind Apple Making This Case Is For The Ultra Low Power Thing.
Many Might Ask, How About A Simple Button ? But Personally A Button Doesn’t Feel Much Intuitive Of A Product As It Is Right Now. Auto Power Off Is Still Available And It’s After 2 Hours Of Idle Activity. 2 Hours Might Be A Lot For Some But Not A Lot For Some As Well. So, This Case Is Actually Perfect Way To Preserve Battery Life.
And For Protection Purpose, You’ll Definitely Get Many 3rd Party Cases For These. Even The Regular AirPods Have Cases. You See Multiple 3rd Parties Making Cases For Them.

For me it is actually the biggest problem, I don't want to use them twice a day for 1h for 5days and then have to charge them just because they lost part of the battery sitting there. It is quite stupid in my opinion. Also, the pxc 550 II from sennheiser have a nice built in switch: whe you turn the earcups they turn on/off...

When you review the comfort of the headphones, please talk about comfort on the ears (not the top of the head) after wearing them for many hours like on a flight. The sony's m noise cancellation is the best with aircraft noise but makes my head surrounding the ears sore (nothing to do with sound) after several hours of use on the airplane. That's my main use case for noise cancelling headphones. Thanks for all of your hard work.

A Case that you have to use if you want them to "turn off" otherwise they stay on for 2 hours. A case that also provides little to no protection(not sure how he can say its protecting them) would you feel confident putting them in a backpack in that case? Or having to carry around by headband. Maybe that was the plan, make case in such a way that you always have to carry them around like that so everyone can see you have them.
I think the case is okay. Minimalistic design enough to prevent scuffs and scratches as well giving access to charge the headphones. The non-folding band makes it difficult to design a non-intrusive sleek case. Would you like carrying around your headphone in some bulky case ? 3rd party cases should be an option if you want full protection.

Question for you Chris. Why does processing an online Apple order take so long. Ordered the HomePod mini in November as a Christmas gift but it’s now December 10 and it still says processing with a listed delivery date of December 23-30th. Most of what you'll do is listen to music, so spatial audio won't be important.
And for movies, these are good but then again, a good dolby sound bar + a sub woofer would be 100 times better.
And for noise cancellation, they're prob similar to sony's .
You can't even fold these, and they always stay on unless you put them in that bra case.

Go into your audio slider, and next to transparency mode slider, tap on spatial audio to turn it on. Some content does not support it (lots of stuff on Netflix) so try doing it with Disney+ or Apple TV+. Keep in mind it only works on Airpods pro and Airpod Max

Not all the applications support it yet. I have tried them on HBO Max, Apple TV and it is mindblowing. TH-cam doesn't support it yet. I really hope everyone jumps ship asap because it's like nothing before. Watch unbox therapy's reaction to it.

@Jah they don't do the same thing. The Sonys (which I have) make 3d sound relative to your head, the AirPods Pro (which I have) with spatial audio make 3d sound relative to the device. Its a totally different experience and has resulted in me watching a bunch of video with my AirPods Pro over the Sonys when spatial audio is available.

Side note: the original AirPods are barely worth 100, mediocre audio and no seal. The AirPods Pro are good if you like balanced audio and reference headphone quality. I don’t hate Apple audio gear, I just can’t justify 550 for wireless headphones.

Good question. I have AirPods Pro, they’re amazing; you can’t go wrong here. You might use the pro more than the max depending on what you do from day to day. I ordered the max for mostly at home, when I can have that over ear comfort and fidelity sounds for much longer than having pros i. Your ears. After a while the pressure from the pros make your ears tired.
Again, very nice content! I tried the airpod max last weekend at the store and I have to agree with the "experience" you don't get with other headphones. I have the bose qc ii and I love them. But after trying this, I wanted to save up my money and buy one for myself! Although I'm looking forward for the review on how comfort they are because my bose are amazing but after 4hrs+ of wearing, it feels uncomfortable and I feel like having a headache. I have to agree, this headphone are definitely AMAZING!
This hits it right on the head, we can really only pass judgement speculatively, once reviews come out then people can decide if the feature set is worth it for the extra $200 (build, spacial audio, automatic device switching) it's very much a product that is not for everyone and I think the amount of disappointment definitely shows that there is a desire for Apple headphones, perhaps a sport model is in the future
If you look at the original leaks and features for these headphones, the original one had excellent features that justified the price, however there was manufacturing issues and they ended up taking out all of those new features but kept the price tag the same. There are essentially AirPods with slightly better sound but with 3 times the price. Apple should’ve waited to release these

At most your get multi point pairing between 2 devices. The auto pairing is with anything apple. Go from your phone to watch to max to iPad and answer a phone call all seamlessly

I have paid more than this for headphones, the type that I use to listen to good recordings through a DAC and amp for several hours. For headphones that I'm going to use outside, are going to get knocked, dropped, ripped off my head on a train etc I want something that is robust and can stand up to that type of use. There is also a good chance I will lose or somehow destroy them and that is were the price can make a difference. An average person can buy the Apple headphones but how badly will it affect their day to see them fall down the stairs and end up in pieces, are they just going to shrug and go buy another? If the cost of replacement is a major blow to someone then they should consider dialling back on the giddy enthusiasm for all things Apple. Apple has a gift for describing quite ordinary things as if they are revolutionary. I've heard a number of people talking about the "amazing" transparancy mode as if no other headphones perform this very standard function. There is more to gripe about but it gets dull. I feel the tone of voice used in this video borders on belligerent.

Instead of getting the Max, get both Wh1000xm4 and AirPods pro for nearly the same price . You get all the features and more.
What many people don’t understand is that in the world of high end audio $550 is the low end of the scale. I know of a person who recently bought $30,000 headphones, and many audiophiles who routinely spent $1500 or more just on cables and interconnects. If you can’t afford $550 for these, then you are not the target market. You have several less expensive options from Apple.
Totally agree that other reviews have been wrong. Imagine a person who is really into car stereos... wild about them, he walks into a car dealership, sits in the front seat of a fancy sports car, looks at the price and says “What! $45,000 for something to hold my car stereo!?(the car)”. It is ridiculous for him to imagine that is the only function of a car(or Homepod, or Airpods Max), and he is completely ignoring the other functionality.
One of the best looking headphones I’ve seen, plus I love que digital crown... touch gestures really suck on headphones. But the priceeee, even if you have the money, it’s really hard to justify.

They are nice looking and probably sound nice. I have a few issues outside of price that make them a no. Lightning charging, weight, having to use the case-chi chi covers to put them to sleep, they're really big, and the material will get dirty and dirty fast.

Is it really too much to ask for a hard case to be included. Instead you get what looks like a silicone cover that offers no protection and is required to turn the headphone off from what I can tell. As they don't fold a hard case will be very large and may be your only bit of cabin luggage. I think these might start to be the subject of ridicule.
When mine come in I’m going to measure them and buy the appropriate sized pelican style case that’s got the pick and pull foam, off brands of these range from $15 to $30, easy solution

Outside of their internal hardware, they are all form over function, which is fine. All the cases that have been made that are truly, truly functional, were made by third parties, possibly "Apple Certified"

It’s a symptom of disappointment. Lots of people were anticipating this as Apple’s take on the Sony XM4s and therefore hoped for a$349 price. The case makes me think Burberry and not Sony, which prices a lot of people out of the product. As Chris says, this is not a Sony or Bose, so the dislikes are due to people hoping to buy one and not being able to. Is it worth $549? We won’t know until we try it. It better be comfortable and it better have great sound quality or else the Apple name isn’t going to save this product.

Spatial audio isn't something exclusive to these headphones.
If you played AAA games, with 3D audio, you have experienced it.
If you've played VR games, you have experienced it on whatever audio interface you have.
To truly experience spatial audio, take off your headphones and listen to everything around you.

your perspective probably comes from a multimedia communication major or so, really creative, good job. also as a customer of the younger generation who always had a need of the balance between aesthetic of the product and the function which it's supposed to do, and AirPods max is the only option I have on the table.

For a premise of “everyone is wrong”, you seem to agree a lot with all the review videos I’ve seen.
Great video. Spatial audio aside and using your Lexus/Toyota analogy, instead of comparing to the Sony XM4 or Bose 700, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9 (Gen 3) or the Sennheiser RS195 are more comparable though less widely known in terms of price point and quality.
My question is if they can be used for podcasting when plugged into a Yeti mic?
What I want to know is how good a phone conversation in a noisy environment will be for both parties. This is where the Bose 700 is amazing. If Apples AirPod Max will allow me to talk to someone in a very loud environment and they can clearly hear me and I can clearly hear them, I will be interested in checking them out.

Two questions. One: can these replace something like the Audeze EL-8 in terms of audio quality and instrument separation? Two: can you swap the left and right ear cups and reverse the channels in the software config if you want the physical controls on the non-default side of your head?
I got my order in early with the 12/15 to 12/17 delivery date. I can understand all of the complaints but the tech sounds amazing so I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Tbh, your argument defending these headphones are pretty bad (no disrespect! ) all the features you pointed out can be found on the much cheaper AirPod pros yet you’re trying to justify the insane price. Is having slightly better sound with the same features worth the massive price jump? Not saying the product is bad, just the arguments you’re making are... (no offence) extremely weak. You just essentially take this at face value without critically looking at the product and you instantly assume it’s the best thing that has been brought to this earth because it’s made by Apple... yes it’s most likely going to be fantastic but as a “tech” reviewer shouldn’t you be looking at both pros and cons? I’m not hating the product! Most likely these will be amazing especially the active noise cancellation due to the 9 mic’s. But as a reviewer shouldn’t he critically review the product? Both pros and cons? Not just defend the product because it was built by apple? @@roxom1868 tbh i didn't even listen to the review, i knew he was just gonna be mindlessly defending it 😭 i personally think it's expensive, but the price shouldn't be surprising considering it's in a line up with the Earbuds below it starting at $250. I do think a more reasonable price would be more like $350 though. If I could afford these headphones I'd rule them out for the simple fact that they don't even fold up to be portable. Sure they are premium build quality, but i don't really care about having aluminum headphones lmao. And trust me i'm a huge apple fan boy too, iPad Pro, Watch, iPhone, MacBook Pro. I think these are gonna end up like the Watch Edition (the one made of real gold) where only celebrities and rich people have it as a fashion statement which is kind of dumb
I agree with you, most people just can’t get past the price point and that’s ALL they’re looking at instead of what the Air Pod Max can actually do, plus sound and build quality, these are the best sounding headphones I’ve ever heard but again they’re some that have legitimate critiques but many are just Apple haters or simply only looking at how much they cost and ONLY that and it’s enough for them you’re right sir.

I ordered my today, and when I personalized them; my ship time went from 12-14 weeks to 8-10 weeks! Also, I ordered the silver so I could eventually order multi-color ear cups to change up the look!!

He’s not saying that its for everyone. If you need it/ like it and can afford it buy it. But why complain about something too high that you probably don’t need or isn’t in your price range. There are $3000 + purses. And there is $30 purses. Not everything is for everyone..

People keep complaining about price. Isn’t price set based on supply and demand? Obviously the price of homepods were originally too high based on demand and so it was lowered. From what I read about the shortage of supply right now of 3 months and the fact people are marking them up on eBay it sounds like the price is too low at least at this point.

Sony isn't just about their ANC....its just as much about most features end users want and use. Stop throwing hardware and software at consumers, it doesn't tell the whole story.
People never know if price is justified. They only notice what is marketed. R&d, software, product design and the law of dimnishing returns is never considered. Even the aluminium body with colouring can easily cost 100 more than plastic ones.

Sony XM4, are they worth double the price I just dont think they are worth that much. Also the headphones are even heavier until I am able to test out the feel and weight on my head It doesnt justify the price. Then you have the case for the headphones... It does not protect the headband it is a concern for carrying or placing in luggage. I will likely wait for a revision the case and not being able to fold it a major drawback

@Jah many reviews have stated these have better sound than the sony xm4s. i have heard them with my own ears and it's true (anecdotally). sound is subjective but the airpods max seem to have a much wider soundstage, less muddy and thumpy bass no matter how loud it gets and super clear highs.

The point is that your $200-300 headphones are not immediately worthless because these $550 headphones came out. Apple's spatial audio isn't unique. Sony offer a similar feature in their headphones. Also, everyone seems to be praising these, so saying that everyone is wrong and then praising them makes no sense. If you're saying everyone is wrong I would be expecting you to say they were bad.

I LOVE the Digital Crown. I find I don't do well with touch and swipes. They just never seem to work for me well on any device. Even the phone. I swipe and swipe and many times calls don't get answered. Not sure if it is something about my skin. So give me a button or dial and I am pleased.

First, great video! Thanks! But.... There is no justification for not including everything needed to “Max out” all features of a $550 device! Not buying that Apple is trying to save the environment by not including charging bricks and cables! It’s nothing more than a cash grab! It’s ridiculous! And the fact that a person is willing to spend $550 on something doesn’t mean they should be alright with purchasing something that should have been included. We are teaching companies that we’re fine with being ripped off. Just my 2 cents. 😉
