    Great video! My only hesitation is that Olaplex is NOT a conditioner, so often your hair will not look the greatest after using it. I actually like to follow it up with a real conditioning mask. The Curlsmith may just have more conditioners and oils in it to make it 'look' like it is fixing the hair when in reality, it is just fixing the surface on the hair. Not sure, but something to think about.

    This is the third review I’ve seen on this today. I would say I didn’t see a massive difference on either side, (gorgeous as always) but I think given the quantity you get with Curlsmith for essentially the same price, plus the natural ingredients, I’m definitely going to give the Curlsmith a go 😀

    You're like the upteeth review I've watch on these products 😂 I'm a bit of a science nerd when it comes to ingredients so I googled some stuff. It turns out that the olaplex and bond curl work on different bonds in the hair. Our hair has three bond types: disulfide, hydrogen and salt/ionic. Olaplex patented ingredient only works on reforming broken disulfide bonds while a combination of two ingredients (hydroxypropylammonium gluconate + hydroxypropyl gluconamide) in the bond curl crosslinks the broken hydrogen and ionic bonds which could be why everyone's hair is curlier as these bonds can affect the tightness of the curl.

    For someone whom is protein sensitive they are stuck with Olaplex though lol. Which is a huge difference between these too. (That's why max amount of time for Curlsmith is an hour, because of the protein). Throughout all these video comparisons I haven't seen a big difference. So when my hair needs protein once in awhile this may be a new go to.
    As far as your comparison I feel like it would have been more comparable had you gone in on the Olaplex side with a protein/moisture DC. It also looked like you used way more Curlsmith than the Olaplex.

    • @BoundlessEyes
      @BoundlessEyes 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol it's been hilarious watching influencers trying to sell the crap out of this over the Olaplex and everyone's like - look at the shine and volume on the Curlsmith side! - But it's a deep conditioning and protein treatment and you just Olaplexed without following the clear directions to deep condition afterwards?

    This is not a true/fair comparison. While I love both lines, you’re comparing apples to oranges. Olaplex °3 contains NO protein. The only Olaplex products that contain protein are °4 & °6 and it is only a trace amount that is used as an emulsifying agent. Olaplex °3 strictly repairs disulfide bonds, it is not a moisturizing treatment nor a protein treatment. You should always follow up with a protein treatment and/or hydrating treatment (depending on your hair needs) after °3. As for the size of the bottles, Olaplex is EXTREMELY concentrated therefore not much product is needed per application. While I appreciate your effort with the video, I have to speak up when misinformation is being spread. As a side note, protein overload is a myth. Check out trichologist, Dr. Susan Walker’s webinar titled The Protein Misconception. Very informative webinar.

    Nice!! Though I think it's only fair to say that sticking strictly to Olaplex products on the side for Olaplex would render a more fair assessment here. This is the third review of the competing of these two products and the first person didn't use strictly Curlsmith products with the two, in other words she used a different brand completely from either of the test products to shampoo, condition and style. Her results were similar to yours still but then her hair was almost exactly like yours with bleaching and the same curl pattern/style, I think it's a given protein is going to bump the results in bleached hair in this case. The second gal colors but not bleaches, her curl pattern is different and she also stuck to Curlsmith products for wash, condition/ style. Her results were less obvious in the difference. But then she doesn't have the need to have more protein like you do. I agree, Olaplex is still the bomb, but for those needing protein more, Curlsmith may just have the advantage, given over time the product doesn't prove to protein stress the hair. I say using both every other time you bond treat may likely be the best of both worlds. I think since Olaplex does have shampoo conditioner, leave in... the only way to really do the competing is to use every product of the lines on the same sides to give accurate results. I'm enjoying these reviews though... interesting seeing results on different people with different methods. Thanks for sharing! Smiles and blessings...

      @Frizzandfrillzz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the feedback, Lisa! I wish I could do a full styling routine to compare on the Olaplex end too, but sadly they don’t offer many stylers. *Sigh* this review is disappointing for several reasons. 1. Olaplex 3 has a patented ingredient that actually repairs the physical bond in hair. It is not a conditioning or protein treatment, though it does have some conditioning ingredients in it. 2. The Curlsmith product is not an actual bond repair. Its at its heart just a conditioning protein treatment. The ingredients in the curlsmith product CANNOT repair actual bonds that have been damaged by bleaching, coloring, or styling. Period. There is no SCIENCE behind this claim. Feel free to use it as a deep conditioner and protein treatment, but its not going to repair bonds like Olaplex does.

    • @Frizzandfrillzz
      @Frizzandfrillzz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is actually very false. Neither of them are conditioning treatments...no body should be using these to condition or deep condition. And there is actually science from Curlsmith to back up the fact that this is a bond repair treatment. Thanks for your concern though.
