Thank you for not doing the gimmicky olaplex vs curlsmith thar everyone else is doing. This is the first video about this product line that properly and comprehensively explained how it works. It’s the only video that has made me consider buying it at some point in the future. Fantastic video, well done!!
i’ve been watching your videos for over a year, and tried many different stylers; curlsmith is my Holy Grail. i do a combo of either the air dry leave in or the protein cream, then curl souffle, and then either the foam in this video or a gel like hydro style flexi gel. great results, consistent, great ingredients, my hair is so healthy and smells great, not overpowering. 10/10
I know I’m late to the party but I appreciate that you did not do this as an advertisement. I feel the other videos are trying to “sell” it to me, but you explained how you use each one, how they compare to Olaplex (like everyone else) but you didn’t try to push it. You just gave your opinion and with pictures…I appreciate your HONEST reviews on the products you do. And your hair is always gorgeous…even when you think it’s misbehaving😂.
I hesitated to try Curlsmith products because of the price tag, but recently got the scalp detox line and the weightless leave-in cream during an Ulta sale. I hate the watermelon smell (and wish it was lighter or non-existent because of headaches) but my hair is absolutely loving the products. I usually do well with some protein so I'm super interested in trying this line as well. I always love a good sciency-Courtney comprehensive review so thank you for putting the time into this!
I too, was hesitant on getting anything from Curlsmith, bc it's pricey. But I finally caved & bought the SC Bond Curl, bc I knew my hair needed help. It didn't seem to do much the 1st time I used it. I left it in for the minimal. The 2nd time I did see better results bc I left it in for 40 minutes. When I refreshed my 2nd day hair with just slightly damping it & the used John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Air Dry Waves Styling Foam & to my pleasant surprise, the front section of my hair, that is usually dry & lifeless, did a nice sprial curl, all on it's own, as if I curl trained it! So, I'm thinking the 3rd time will yeild even better results.
I tried the Bond & made my hair feel amazing. Great explanation on it. I have your hair type & would love to see a video on all your favorite products.
Your review on the foam made me think that you might really enjoy the curl control mousse by Moroccanoil. It's actually a foam and has medium hold. It's rich in protein, cgm friendly and promotes clumps and shrinkage like nothing else! :)
One thing as an added comment for the end-I find no matter how much I love a product line, my hair gets what I call familiar fatigue. Reminded me when you said at the end your hair had been rebelling. I have three product lines I rotate through. (I’m swavy 2b-c). PS. Curlsmith is one of my favs
I am OBSESSED with Curlsmith! I started with their Shine line, then the styling soufflé and Effortless Waves spray, and most recently I tried the protein foam. It was a bit too much protein for me and made my hair dry and hay-like, but I loved the volume it gave me. So I just added some leave-in to compensate. I find with my low porosity hair I do need to use a moisturizing product with any product high in protein I also love the foam for refreshes
I JUST got the set myself this past weekend! I haven't done the salve yet, but just used the featherlight cream & volumizing foam last night (& then topped with my usual gel for more hold) and I'm having the best hair day today that I've had in a long time! EDIT: I swear I wrote this at the start of ur video, before you mentioned how you topped the foam with gel lol! (It does recommend it on the bottle to be fair)
Courtney thank you so much. I have always hated my fluffy crunchy hair. I used the salve and the multi tasking repair conditioner today and now my hair feels soft and even has shine. I honestly wouldn't have believed it could work like this.
I'm on day two after using the 3 pack from Ulta for the first time. My hair has never had this tight of waves / curls, it's amazing! The bonus I found is that I have very little frizz even on day two.
Thank you for this! I've been soooo curious on hearing how well this works on wavy hair. I also have fallen in love with Curlsmith this year. I may have to rationalize buying it now even though I don't technically "need" new product at the moment!
I know this is three years later, but for anyone else reading this: many of us wavies have damaged hair because for a lot of our lives we didn’t even know we had wavy hair. We’d do everything straight-haired people do, like dry brushing, unknowingly damaging our hair further. I’ve used the Bond Curl Rehab salve on a weekly basis and my hair has improved a lot.
I bought these products and they are crazy good. My hair looked the shiniest it ever has. I ordered the gel for some additional hold, but these 3 products on their own are amazing.
I cant wait to try this new bond builder. Courtney I also love using mousse then gel. I figure clumps and volume then hold, It always works great for me. Mind you I feel like a product junky using leave in mousse and gel then oil. I wish I could cut a product out and find a mousse that does it all. Clumping, volume, frizzfree finish and a strong hold lol. I know I'm asking for allot 🤦🏽♀️😆
Will you do a video about curlsmith vs bounce curl? I know both work great, but I'd like an expert explaining it vs me being frustrated about why one thing works and the other doesn't, etc. Thank you so much for making these videos! I really appreciate your time and effort! 🤗♥️
I always get good results from curlsmith products but not at all from the bounce curl. However I live in Wyoming and our dew points have been in the single digits. I’ll try bounce curl again when the weather changes a bit
I am happy to hear you say about your experience with olaplex 3..... now.. I have high porosity hair and thought I would reap all the benefits from it. I didn't. It makes my hair flat and doesn't curl for a month after using. I purchased after watching your will virgin hair benefit from it video 🤔. I waited till limited edition huge bottle was on sale too. Still using it up because I paid so much. Atleast I know I will benefit from this product because it is an actual protein.
I saw where Abby Yung said you should wash your hair first before using these because it’ll be able to adhere to the actual hair better than the buildup that may be on your hair . Then I guess ya shampoo again. Anyway , eBay makes sense . What are your thoughts? Thank you ! Been binge watching your channel . ❤
I just saw this new line, and was so excited to see you reviewed it. I came here immediately to check! :) My hair is much thinner than yours - and very fine, so I can't use many products at all. The Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream is extremely heavy for me, so if this one is even heaver, I probably can't use it. But I am super interested in the foam though! Too bad it's not stronger hold. I've never done a real protein treatment, but I've been using conditioners with some protein for months, regularly, and haven't noticed any negative side effects. So maybe I could handle more
My CurlSmith products just got here. My hair is very close to yours based on what I’ve heard you say from a few videos. I’m very excited to try them in my hair. Alsooo where do you get the bulk of your shirts? I live in t shirts and would love to know
I had a Brazilian Blowout over 10 years ago which I loved. However, it took years for my curl pattern to return. So I believe it is those bonds you are talking about that may have been broken after having the blowout.
I know this is an older video by now, but I finally finished up bottle of the CurlJunkie Repair Me, and decided to give this product a trial. Because it's a prepoo treatment, I am very much at a loss for how to fit this into my weekly washing routines. Can/should I do this on day 3, full of product? Can I use this the same day as a pre-wash scalp oil? Oil scalp and then put this on? Then do the wash? Ahhhhh 🙈
That moment when you spend $60 on haircare products at 2am 😂 In my defence, I just ran out of Olaplex last week and I’ve been eyeing a protein leave in for a while now so this video was TOO on point for me lol. Got the salve and the mousse. So excited to try them!!
Okay Courtney, you convinced me on the Bond Curl Salve. I got it and I've been using it. The 1st 3 treatments didn't seem to do anything special for my hair, which is high porosity and very dry on the top layer of my hair, the rest seems to be just medium porosity. Anyway, with the 4th treatment, did make my hair very soft, finally, but also seemed to make my waves & curls straighter.🤔I have been doing weekly treatments and leaving on for 40 minutes. Now I'm thinking on doing by-weekly treatments. What do you think is going on with my hair?
I found that the cream makes my hair feels waxy and dry. But, when I'm loving the foam. I also did the foam layered under the In shower Styler and LOVED the results. However, when I washed my hair next wash day it felt strange...like my hair had micro beads stuck to it that wouldn't wash out. Not sure what was up with that. Going to try one more time to see if it does it again.
I don’t follow CGM because sometimes I go straight, I use products with silicone because I feel like I get better hair with it. I’ve tried the Olaplex line several times and I notice zero difference in my hair condition. I get better results from Shea Moisture Honey and Yogurt protein conditioner mask. I just picked up the bond from Curlsmith but have not used it yet. Excited to try it after seeing the reviews!
Question, should you be using pre-poos more often if you have low porosity hair but go swimming often, to prevent hydral fatigue? How often would you use a pre-poo with low porosity hair if you go swimming 3-4 times per week and also shower 3-4 times per week?
A method of preventing hygral fatigue that I have seen work really well is using a pre-poo oil on your hair. Not necessarily a pre-poo treatment like the bond curl rehab salve. But the bond oil from curlsmith would work great as a pre-poo treatment prior to swimming.
Excited to try these products. My hair has been so wonky this winter (it’s SO dry in Colorado-I know you experienced that when you were here!) and I need something new. Do you think using these every wash day is a good idea because of all the protein? I’ve been washing every 3 days lately. I’m sure I’m protein deficient, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hi Courtney! Is it okay to ACV Rinse every week? Also, do you have an alternative to Hi-Definition Gel for winter? I tried it but it has so much fragrance.
Courtney probably has a science-y explanation, but I just tried a few products with and without protein to see which results were better for me! My hair is thick/coarse, 2B to 3A and in general looks very dry so a combo or moisture and protein works for me!
I got all these in a bundle when I originally saw this video. They are my go-to products. The gel is too much but if I use it for smashers, it is PERFECT. nothing has dethroned my LA Looks $4 a gallon gel. Haha.
I watched this video while the bond curl was in my hair...gonna see how this goes! I only purchased the bond curl and the foam. I was scared to do a triple protein product treatment for fear of too much protein!!! wish me luck!
Courtney what would you suggest for low porosity, lie to med elasticity, fine 2b or so hair? I tried the Lus brand hook line and sinker and my hair look horrible. No refund from them :/. So I have all 3 almost full products for wavies.
How is the scent of these compared to their other products? I had to return the other 6 products I bought from them because the scent was just over the top STRONG and made it unbearable to use. Curious if these are any less fragranced. 🤔🧐
Do any of the shampoo/conditioner options work well with this new protein product? I’ve watched many of your reviews of products across all price points .... if money wasn’t a factor - what would you say is “best”?
I enjoy some, not all of this line, definitely love the bond salve, but found the protein cream way too heavy for my hair, even in the tiniest amount, although I do find my hair isnt as soft or frizz free when I use protein products.
I was looking at some of yours older YT videos and is it me or your hair curls were little bit tighter and more defined before than they are recently ? Do you think it's something to do with winter season? Or depends on styling products? Would you agree ?
I think it's like she said. As our waves get longer it gets weighed down! My hair has grown almost a foot during quarantine (when pulled straight) and my hair is so heavy that it really drops by the end of day 1.
Second as mentioned sadly for us wavy/curly girls the second my hair starts getting longer as I prefer it's never as defined curls and awesome as when shorter/I get cuts. Such a catch 22 but se la vie! 😅
I agree, just had a drastic hair cut few weeks ago after having my hair really long all my life and my hair is incredibly curly now, never had so many ringlets before.
@@milcycat7285 Not an exact date, but usually during Ulta's 21 days of Hair events and around the holidays for sure. I've even scored them during the summer at random sales that have no rhyme or reason 🤣. I'd say at least 2-4 times a year. Sometimes Curlsmith's Instagram will mention if Ulta has a sale so following Curlsmith may give a heads up. I use the Ulta App, keep items in my saved cart and check it often. It makes spotting sales super easy. Hope this helps!
It looks like on the curl smith website that the curl cream does have glycerin in it thoughts it’s low on the list. I live in the desert and can not use any product so far with the slightest amount of glycerin in it. Curl creams and foams have been the hardest to find but I’m willing to give it a try.
I've been looking for an alternative to Olaplex 3 that is more cost effective and Ulta is so much more convenient if I can get it there. I'm sensitive to artificial watermelon scents. Does it really smell like watermelon?
It is very mild fruity and doesnt at all smell of watermelon to me which I love and wish it did lol. Similar to the scalp line products just a super fresh hydrating type scent O adore of all the products. Not sickly cloying artificial perfumes like just about all else on market or too herbal as many other naturals lines. Such a refreshing change and just makes them so much more enjoyable to use as part of my beauty rituals! 🤗
My hair is always SOO dry (and because of that, it's very frizzy) regardless of the conditioning products I use. Any have any suggestions? (2c/3a/3b red, dry hair. Most of it is roughly waist length with layers)
Hi I have strawberry blonde/long/curly/highlighted/menopausal/eczema scalp hair that is really really really dry, so I understand the pain lol. I shampoo once a week with a gentle sulphate free shampoo and deep condition every wash. I often pre poo with an oil or the elasticizer from Phillip Kingsley first. I always use leave in conditioner AND curl cream, as well as a moisturising styler under my gel. Usually the products aimed at tight coily hair are full of butters etc which really are heavy and super moisturising - excellent for very dry hair. I do clarify once every four to six weeks, but really only concentrate on the scalp and not the lengths. I don't need volume - I need taming and weight to combat frizz. I use a spray leave in conditioner every day on the mid lengths and ends as part of my refresh routine. I also use hair oil on the ends after the leave in and diluted gel in my refresh. Hair oil works great on dry/course hair after applying hydration. Courtney has some great videos, but a lot of her favourite products won't be enough moisture for you. It is trial and error to find things that work. I find nut butters eg shea work really well for me, but I also need protein treatments in between all the moisture heavy deep conditioners to smooth the cuticle and spring up my curls. I hope that helps.
@@lorainemcgillivray77 Thanks for taking the time to share! I don't usually buy Courtney's product recommendations because our types are different, but I continue to follow her for the science knowledge and for the videos she does with her sister because it seems to me like our hair types are more similar.
I'm planning on buying most of the line from their growth line and protein line but the protein cream disappointed me bc it has aloe in it and I avoid that like the plague. Would also buy their moisture lines souffle or whatever but it also has aloe in it :/
I bought the foam last week and immediately used it. I love it except it dispensed really badly. Not sure if I got a bad bottle. I’m gonna use it again, and if it doesn’t dispense right, I’m gonna exchange it for another one. The foam I’ve used for the past 5 years is going away. This may replace it. 😉👍🏼
@@ashleygraham-watanabe8834 I just finally took mine back. And while it worked (on my hair) the first few times I used it, it left my hair flat the next times I used it. So the dispensing and the effect on my hair took it off my repurchase list. Thankfully, I found my foam online, so I’m good. 👍🏼😊
My hair is so low porosity that I'm really struggling in winter particularly to get enough moisture into my hair before the cuticle closes and anything else I apply just sits on the hair and weighs the fine strands down. My bleached ends are actually much easier to care for! So much so that I'm considering getting full head highlights once the salons are back open in the uk hmmm
Thank you for going so in-depth! This was a great video! I wish I could try the stylers but unfortunately they all contain hemp seed extract and for my job I have to have frequent drug tests. I don't think hair products would be a concern for urine tests but they are allowed to take hair samples and studies have shown that hemp oil on hair can easily show up as a false positive. The risk here is probably low since the stylers are nowhere close to 100% hemp oil, but any risk with my job on the line is too much. I wish haircare companies that put hemp in their products would be more transparent about this. Here's a link to a study on it: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6385314/ I've asked Curlsmith about it just to see what they say, but just to be safe I'm still going to wait for the next launch or wait for legalization haha
I absolutely love this product! But I use the co-wash first so that my hair is the tangled and then I put on the curls Smith rehab salve! My hair is so curly afterwards I love it!!
I mean this with full offense, but you really need get the facts before you give your trash opinion and accuse someone of something. What she did is consistent with every sponsored and non sponsored she has done. She has for *years* always put the disclaimer at the bottom for both sponsored and non-sponsored.
Is the salve a hard protein treatment? A relative has extremely high porosity hair that needs hard protein and can only tolerate a small amount of moisture...alot of so called protein treatments have alot of additional moisture...
Well hon, I would die for your silky looking locks! Flat or curly! I've never seen your hair look dull... even when you say it does. I'm surprised as after your Olaplex you raved... but then my guess is it took you back to your more natural state which by the texture of your hair I'd say is not as curly naturally as the products you use encourage it to curl. Curling products actually do make stick straight hair go wavy/ curly. It's been proven. How you know if you're naturally curly is that lack of slick shiny hair stand... and honey your hair is smooth as butter compared to naturally curly hair. This is why I think you felt funked by the Olaplex. It also makes sense why Curlsmith worked because you are "damaging" your natural cuticle layer to raise them with products to bring curls into your hair. It's true ... look into it. Curl products raise the cuticle (its all in the PH) on naturally straight hair and fills in the cuticle on naturally curly (raised cuticle) hair. Just goes to show... what God gave you... if you try to do it different it will work against the way He did it. I thought that was the craziest thing I'd ever heard... but then I was under the impression that curly products lowered the cuticle (flattened) on my hair. This was a major mistake in how one thinks of how products work on the strand. They glide over and tighten, the products do if you have raised cuticles (curly hair) this is why they do so much "smoothing". If you have smooth cuticles (straight hair naturally) it raises the cuticle during the tightening phase... and yes, causes damage. I haven't found anyone else who is naturally curly, even wavy... that has had the experience with Olaplex you did. It seems to confirm the science. Don't get me wrong, I love your sweet shiny curls, they are beautiful. I don't think you should do it differently...I just thought you might want to know why your hair was weird with the Olaplex. As always, you're a joy to watch and I simply love when you post and I have a chance to catch you here! Smiles and blessings...
@@deearrw Listen I wasn't attacking anyone here, so unless Cortney wants to correct me... just move along. Sheesh. Also, not trying to be mean. Maybe you’re intentions really were genuine, but when someone has made an entire TH-cam channel presence based around their wavy hair, clearly identifies with their hair as part of who they are, worked hard to accept their wavy hair and learn how to take care of it, does research about her hair and her products, AND you don’t know her personally...then you saying that her hair isn’t what it is and claiming she’s damaging her hair is not actually encouraging. You’re approach sounds very condescending instead.
@@rileypaigemc7018 i certainly didn't mean to condescend... I've been a fan of this channel for a very long time...I wouldn't watch it if I didn't like her and her content. Her goals are to help people take care of their hair and love is natural state. I never even knew damage could be caused to straighter hair type by using curly hair products until recently...I figured she'd like to know... not that her hair ever looked unhealthy to me. Her hair is gorgeous and she is a very sweet gal. It just made me think of what I had heard when she said what she said about how her hair reacted to Olaplex. So I shared. As I said I wouldn't expect her to change what she does...I just thought she'd like to know that it's been said... it's not like I can private message her. All her contact info is social media.
I’ve been thinking a lot about you’ve been saying and doing my own learning. I want to apologize for my original comments. What I’ve been learning aligns a lot to what you have been saying.
Hi Courtney I think you have to disclose in the title and/or hashtags that this is a sponsored video. You are also supposed to say in the intro part of the video. I had no idea until another comment mentioned it. I suggest you refer to the rules around sponsorship on youtube re this. Whilst I have no objection per se to sponsored content (it is work and people rightly want to be paid), I do expect to be informed that it is in fact an AD or partial AD. A simple mistake is forgivable, but I will open the description box for the next several weeks to check. Not disclosing is dishonest and unacceptable. Before anyone decides to leave me nasty replies to stick up for Courtney, please refer to the fact I have not been disrespectful and this is a big no no within the beauty youtube community. People have had sanctions applied by youtube for this and others have lost subscribers. I hope this was an honest mistake that will not be repeated and if so then that's fine.
She actually put it in the description of the video! Idk if it was originally there, but she’s normally good about that. She did also say in the beginning that Curlsmith sent her the products, so that does normally indicate some sort of PR type relationship
@@loudmouthwife There is a difference between PR and a sponsored video. It was right at the very end of the description box and not clearly labelled. That's not how it's done. It's supposed to be in the title or hashtags and clearly disclosed during the video. Hiding it at the bottom of the description box isn't enough and is not how it's supposed to be. If you feel that's enough for you, then that is your right and your opinion, but it's not a mainstream one (nor is it mine).
I've watched 5-6 videos on these products and not one person pronounced salve correctly. The L is silent. Google it and let your phone say it. I loved your review though. 😀
This has been driving me nuts!!! It's salve like half. We don't say the l in half! It's an old fashioned word that many have never heard. We still use it on there farm tho!
Curlsmith has way too much glycerin for my hair. Plus I'm so sick of seeing curlsmith vs olaplex videos. Why can't anybody just review it without having to compare them? They are all the same that you only need to watch one and be done. I was so hoping you weren't going to fall into the group 🥴
This is the only hair focused YT channel that I watch, so in all fairness to Courtney and others like me... I'm thankful that she did make the comparison, because I am familiar with Olaplex and the explanation was beneficial. But thank you for pointing out the high glycerin content of the products.

They are coming to Europe next month! Curlsmith comments on a insta post 😁
@Christina Poulsen sure here's the link! instagram.com/p/CJ84LKllY_n/?igshid=3vhvorxv4ics
@Christina Poulsen I also got a message from the official curlsmith Instagram saying that they will be coming to the Europe next month as well!
@@emmaswan6219 Ohhh finally! I'm gonna save my money then') Thank you for sharing
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this line. I've been thinking about trying it. 💖
@@michelleyoung4918 good to know! I'll be making my first purchase from curlsmith today, crossing my fingers that my hair will love it! 🤞
You look so lovely with those earrings!
I was literally waiting for you to review them❤❤❤❤I want to try their foam and deep conditioner
My hair is much thinner than yours - and very fine, so I can't use many products at all.
I live in t shirts and would love to know
Can you do a one brand wash day using Living Proof’s new curl line?
I had a Brazilian Blowout over 10 years ago which I loved. However, it took years for my curl pattern to return. So I believe it is those bonds you are talking about that may have been broken after having the blowout.
I used the Feather Light Protein Cream for the first time. My coarse, thick, high porosity 3 a/b hair loves it. I'm a big fan.
Did you use the other product or just the cream? My hair is also coarse, thick and likes protein.
Ahhhhh 🙈
I’ve been waiting to hear your opinion about those product! Perfect timing ;)
That moment when you spend $60 on haircare products at 2am 😂 In my defence, I just ran out of Olaplex last week and I’ve been eyeing a protein leave in for a while now so this video was TOO on point for me lol. Got the salve and the mousse. So excited to try them!!
The salve isn’t a leave in, you rinse it out;
I Just spent $55 after thinking about it for a month... Now I'll have to get used to nice things and up my income...
Got the set in my ultra cart now.. just waiting to commit. Was hoping to hear from you about this! Yay
Thank you so much for your Curlsmith videos they educate noobies like me so much. 🙏🙌
So glad it helped!
Such a great video! Thank you so much!!!!! I will definitely try CurlSmith bond product. 👊🏻🎉
I work at Ulta and saw this product yesterday. Now I think I might need to try it.
I just bought the featherweight protein cream! Only used it once but I really like it.
I just used this product for the first time and it's pretty awesome.
My set arrived Saturday. I love the foam too!
My hair is lightened naturally by the sun and that top layer is flat . Hope this helps ❤
I love the new protein line from curlsmith
I don’t follow CGM because sometimes I go straight, I use products with silicone because I feel like I get better hair with it. I’ve tried the Olaplex line several times and I notice zero difference in my hair condition. I get better results from Shea Moisture Honey and Yogurt protein conditioner mask. I just picked up the bond from Curlsmith but have not used it yet. Excited to try it after seeing the reviews!
Same no difference with Olaplex, can you update if you use the Curlsmith bond please..
Been waiting patiently for this video!! Thank you!!
What kind of magnets do you use to connect the Xtava to the Dyson hair dryer? Please help me out! Can you add it to your Amazon shop, or link here?
Hi Courtney! Is it okay to ACV Rinse every week? Also, do you have an alternative to Hi-Definition Gel for winter? I tried it but it has so much fragrance.
Foam underneath gel?? I'm going to try that today!
Olaplex is my favorite treatment! I would love to try the curlsmith protein treatment.
How do you know if your hair needs protein?
(I have 2c/3a/3b red, very dry, and very long hair with layers)
Courtney probably has a science-y explanation, but I just tried a few products with and without protein to see which results were better for me! My hair is thick/coarse, 2B to 3A and in general looks very dry so a combo or moisture and protein works for me!
@@monicavasquez511 thanks for the input!
I got all these in a bundle when I originally saw this video. They are my go-to products. The gel is too much but if I use it for smashers, it is PERFECT. nothing has dethroned my LA Looks $4 a gallon gel. Haha.
What Curlsmith shampoo and conditioner did you use in the video ? Thx
Looks like it’s the Scalp Recipe Wash & Scrub Detox Probiotic for shampoo and the Color Recipe Glow Perfecting conditioner 🙂
I watched this video while the bond curl was in my hair...gonna see how this goes! I only purchased the bond curl and the foam. I was scared to do a triple protein product treatment for fear of too much protein!!! wish me luck!
The foam had the same effect on my waves/curls. The clumpage is real! I am doing an overnight style and hope it looks good when I wake up!
@@monicavasquez511 how did it go?
Courtney what would you suggest for low porosity, lie to med elasticity, fine 2b or so hair? I tried the Lus brand hook line and sinker and my hair look horrible. No refund from them :/. So I have all 3 almost full products for wavies.
I love your t-shirt! 💚
What about the polyquaterniums ? It is like silicone in that it causes build-up and acts like microplastic
How is the scent of these compared to their other products? I had to return the other 6 products I bought from them because the scent was just over the top STRONG and made it unbearable to use. Curious if these are any less fragranced. 🤔🧐
I haven’t tried the others, but the serum/salve is STRONG
Do any of the shampoo/conditioner options work well with this new protein product? I’ve watched many of your reviews of products across all price points .... if money wasn’t a factor - what would you say is “best”?
I love love love love curlsmith!!
Not in the uk yet 😕
How does the Curlsmith Mousse compare to Innersense?
Guys these are now available in Europe as well!! You can pre-order them on the Curlsmith EU website and they will ship end of february
Did you film this before you gave yourself that trim at home?
Curlsmith products sound great but are too expensive for my budget. sigh.
Me too...but they do go on sale up to 50% off at Ulta a few times a year. That's when I score some ☺
Get the travel size, they last me a decent amount of time. They can get you by until the sales hit.
@@derrickjenniferwatkins1394 do you know what time of the year do they usually go on sale?
@@milcycat7285 Not an exact date, but usually during Ulta's 21 days of Hair events and around the holidays for sure. I've even scored them during the summer at random sales that have no rhyme or reason 🤣. I'd say at least 2-4 times a year. Sometimes Curlsmith's Instagram will mention if Ulta has a sale so following Curlsmith may give a heads up. I use the Ulta App, keep items in my saved cart and check it often. It makes spotting sales super easy. Hope this helps!
And Ulta coupons work on them. Plus Black Friday sales on the website. And they last me a long time.
It looks like on the curl smith website that the curl cream does have glycerin in it thoughts it’s low on the list. I live in the desert and can not use any product so far with the slightest amount of glycerin in it. Curl creams and foams have been the hardest to find but I’m willing to give it a try.
Manesbymell has some great videos on glycerin free products! I hope you find some good ones that work :)
Thank you so much!
My hair is currently freaking out so I may try this out
I've been looking for an alternative to Olaplex 3 that is more cost effective and Ulta is so much more convenient if I can get it there. I'm sensitive to artificial watermelon scents. Does it really smell like watermelon?
I like the scent. It does smell sweet/fruity, but assume it will fade
@@diananemoy7409 thank you so much!!! When I finish the Olaplex that I have currently I might give this a try then.
Thank you for sharing! Awesome!!
Does anyone think this would help someone who does not have curly hair?
Would also buy their moisture lines souffle or whatever but it also has aloe in it :/
My hair is not cooperating lately, I have an urge to just heat style it from now on 😩
Cold, dry winter weather can affect how products work in your hair. Courtney has some videos about humectants and dew points that could be helpful.
I also had problems the first two times I tried. I think I just have to shake harder?
@@ashleygraham-watanabe8834 I just finally took mine back. And while it worked (on my hair) the first few times I used it, it left my hair flat the next times I used it. So the dispensing and the effect on my hair took it off my repurchase list. Thankfully, I found my foam online, so I’m good. 👍🏼😊
So the last of you video had no sound.
Did you realize this when you posted
My hair is so low porosity that I'm really struggling in winter particularly to get enough moisture into my hair before the cuticle closes and anything else I apply just sits on the hair and weighs the fine strands down. My bleached ends are actually much easier to care for! So much so that I'm considering getting full head highlights once the salons are back open in the uk hmmm
Do you ever use a heat cap to deep condition?
@@monicavasquez511 No but I have been thinking it might be worth picking one up, makes so much sense now you mention it!
I can't open the link for the products... It just get's me to the curlsmith site but not to the products... Does it work for you guys?
The links work for me. The "range" take me to a collection, and the "salve", "foam" and "cream" to the individual product.

Hiding the fact this is an ad at the bottom of your description box is pretty shady. Sponsored and PR are very different. I’m glad I looked!
FTA: you only tried it once? Ok, it’s a first impressions video. That should have been made clearer too.
Oof yeah that’s pretty upsetting, and against FTC guidelines. Also not something I would’ve expected from her :(
I mean this with full offense, but you really need get the facts before you give your trash opinion and accuse someone of something.
What she did is consistent with every sponsored and non sponsored she has done. She has for *years* always put the disclaimer at the bottom for both sponsored and non-sponsored.
@@deearrw That’s my point.
Freckles legally she should be verbally disclosing that it’s a sponsored video in the first 30 seconds just an FYI
Is the salve a hard protein treatment? A relative has extremely high porosity hair that needs hard protein and can only tolerate a small amount of moisture...alot of so called protein treatments have alot of additional moisture...
I would suggest you talk about fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
@@deearrw no... it's not... actually talk to a chemist and they'll tell you the truth.
@@deearrw Listen I wasn't attacking anyone here, so unless Cortney wants to correct me... just move along. Sheesh. I'm not arguing, I'm not a chemist but I know a couple cosmetology chemist and that's what I was told. I'm sure opinions vary even in a specific industry, I was trying to ENCOURAGE Courtney, not correct her.
Its not a bond builder it can't be it hasnt got the chemical from olaplex that's why its called a salve. Its an overhyped protein treatment x
Your hair has gotten so long!
