Also it would be Cool if you visited Extreme Metal drummers again, I Love how you understand the immense talent they have. I think your subscribers would be blown away by Shawn Cameron from Deathcore legends Carnifex. So many great live vids but this will give you an idea th-cam.com/video/3gvA_kUAzIE/w-d-xo.html
As mentioned, 73 yrs old and boundless energy, he is 70 yrs older than my grandson who is just picking up the drums and it really does make me smile to see this, it's in your heart and thank you for sharing Andrew 😍
when he went to the toms in the quiet section he got switched around and was a beat behind still stayed locked in to that shift the rest of the way. i get how it could happen given how the bass goes and how he said he struggled to hear the time in the chorus. but like you said, he stayed dialed in on that time the whole way with no hesitation, which is really interesting to hear
OK, so dude said he didn't want to hear it ever again at first, but he added amazing texture and just tore that song up more and more with each take. This is just awesome!
For a 73yo drummer who's certainly out of his comfort zone and what he's played his entire career.... I think he very well held his own and could do so should he be called upon to fill in with the band! 🤘🏼🥁🤘🏼
Just watched this 2 or 3 days ago. He’s so cool and humble, and quick to poke fun at his abilities. Gotta love it! With these videos, it takes a couple times to set the original version aside, and let their version speak for itself. His final version was great!
I was born in Queens, but was living in Levittown in the 70's right about where Billy was from, so those old Billy Joel songs have a special place my heart. I moved to the SF Bay Area in the early 80's. I only saw Billy once live on the Storm Front Tour 1990, in Oakland, CA and spent the entire show staring at Liberty. He was such a powerful and animated drummer. I was a dedicated metalhead at that time, so this was not my normal concert. Now having taken up drumming years later, as an ex-New Yorker I still really relate to Billy Joel songs and Liberty's personality. Nothing, I mean nothing says New York drummer more than in his notes, "Bridge - Smash Shit" and later on "Smash Shit Again." Priceless...
I liked the reaction. The feeling and energy he is showing while he drum is amazing. I would love to see your reaction and thoughts on II ( Sleep Token drummer). Drumeo did an hour-long interview with him. (Wouldn't mind the full length of the interview 😁) Peace
Deftones do some interesting stuff. I understand why he's Billy Joel's drummer. He heard that song for the first time. Deftones aren't that easy to play either. Ill never forget hearing Bleed by Meshuggah for the first time and i got chills. Guys that just put their souls into songs. I admire their efforts.
Take the time to listen to Miami 2017 from the Billy Joel - Songs in The Attic album. The energy in that song is intoxicating IMO. To be fair that entire compilation album is awesome!
Dear Drumeo! I really do like this kind of video! I´m no drummer - just playing a little bit trombone after work sometimes in a church-related environment. But I do love rock! Could you please lenghten the part when they listen without original drums to get a better feeling for the music? Grettings from Germany!
Love your channel! I know you've reacted to two Tool songs and two covers of Tool songs, but you really need to check out their song Grudge off their Lateralus album! Keep up the good work!
If you want to be timid play the Triangle 😂😂😂😂 This was a great vid I'm a full body drummer too so I can related..I actually have to vacuum all the pieces of wood from my drum rug after each practice...QUESTION: IS IT A SIGN OF BAD TECHNIQUE TO BE CONSTANTLY BREAKING STICKS...?
Breaking sticks? Yes Wood chips,No When I really want to crack a snare I hit hoop and skin at the same time without any xtra force needed. I played pro mark sticks and I bought them a dozen pairs at a time,I did get a bad batch once(they were dried out) and after I broke one stick I sent them back and they sent me out another batch no charge TX419 it’s essentially a 2B but an inch longer better balance there hard to find
i wonder what would be appropriate roleswitch backwards? here we got Devitto doing Deftones. ehh.. could Postones playing Billy Joel work? i do want to see some djenty fellas delve into the world of pockets.
again, you`re sooooo polite and amazing! soooooooo friendly and......pleasant?! :D I would like to hang out with you, talk drums, girls, coffee, food :D cheers

You didn''t mention the Coolest thing about Liberty Andy he's 73 yup Seventy Three with the enthusiasm of a teen playing his first kit!

I don’t know the og song well enough to notice that on a first time listen. Loved that Tom part!
Im impressed he nailed the swagger of the song. This genre of music is foreign to this old school guy
OK, so dude said he didn't want to hear it ever again at first, but he added amazing texture and just tore that song up more and more with each take. This is just awesome!
KILLED IT

He swings like he gigged before PA systems lol. This kit gonna sing!!
Yup!!!
Brooklyn in da house 👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
That accent!
Love it
YEAH YEAH 🤘🏻😁
Cool tribal beat and the aggression kicks, I'm glad he got more than one take.
I always liked the Billy Joel jam 'We Didn't Start The Fire'🔥
the 7 takes was "as I heard it" inclusive the creative part to figure out what/how to play it from all in the studio
3:01 Smash Shit on the chart 😂
Billy Joel's Angry Young Man would be a good one to check out Liberty's drumming.
Hey! Dude was really givin' it! Cool.😮
🤘
He’s absolutely hilarious.. I love how he named the one bridge (?) “SMASH SHIT”. 😂
🤣🤣

I love it when you say "hallo woodchoppers" because I am occasionally. 🎶👍🖖
Love that!

Thinking is the enemy of flow.
I like that!
Liberty Devito is cooler than penguin shir and plays like the devil himself. Really enjoyed this. 👌🏼
So so good
Is that Rain When I Die by Alice in Chains in the background I hear? Your background beats don't get past me, Andrew 😂
That’s from my cover yes!!!! 🤘
I love Liberty he’s been a great drummer throughout Joel’s career.
Sorry I wasn’t trying to pimp a product in my earlier post
Just talking drums
Love your channel! I know you've reacted to two Tool songs and two covers of Tool songs, but you really need to check out their song Grudge off their Lateralus album! Keep up the good work!
Glass Houses, check that album out. When BJ rocked more
Can't wait

I would recommend listening to the entire 52nd Street album.

I'd like to watch Abe watch this video.
This is the difference between a LIVE drummer and studio drummer.......he is pushing the set to the wall....
This is the first one of these in this series that I didn't like, he overplayed the song.
Even if you think that, it's still an interesting experiment
