I played a Dungar Druid deck and I can tell you that Dungar Druid is actually a garbage deck because your opponent will hit face before you can pull out Dungar.

I think the problem with the Dungar Druid deck is that it lacks diverse decision-making options. Most of the time, the steps are repetitive, making it feel boring, even though it is undeniably a powerful deck. On the other hand, it can also feel frustrating when you’re crushed by such a monotonous deck.
Of course there is a major decline in Legend players when it takes like 10 times longer to reach it ever since they have added MMR based matchmaking... And god forbid you miss a single season and you lose all your bonus stars so you can start from Bronze 10 against the same people and decks you meet at Legend..
Id happily be in legend. Unfortunately, the meta or my RNG has been a joke. But like many jave said, Im just bored of the archetypes of this current meta. Too sweepy, too fast.
I’ve got a bad feeling about this miniset. It’s not even just the prospect of hero cards being overtuned because they need to be playable for multiple classes using them like they’re neutrals, but also the starship cards teased for Warrior/paladin/hunter/Shaman could end up being drastically stronger than the main sets. Look at badlands Reno cards vs Brann and how drastically apart they were in power or the difference in between main sets Tourists in PiP vs Skyla.
Oh... oh, but Daddy Blizz told us they were gonna tone down the power creep... they PWOMISED!!! Yeah, and I've got an igloo in the Congo to sell someone, too. :|

Same I play to get diamond 5 each season and if I end up getting legend again then cool but the grind is just too annoying and time consuming from 5 to legend for little to no reward when you've already done it many times. If they just allowed for win streak bonuses to still exist in 5 to legend it would really help with the grind. My mmr gives me 10 stars each season and unless your regularly top top legend that's where it tops out. But instead of the win streak thing an even nicer qol thing for the climb would be if they let more people get that 11 star bonus so each win at 5 to legend gave 2 stars not just one.
It's not worth the effort of getting the Legend rank every month, the reward is very poor compared to Diamond 5 (only 1 extra pack) it had to be at least a random legendary card + the usual packs, especially nowadays where there are hundreds of legendary cards in the game
Yes i was absolutely SHOCKED when i hit legend on last day of the month and hit 10,000, and i mentioned on my video (where i hit legend with the toxic dungar druid) that it kind of makes sense considering my other comments about how bad and polarised the meta is, that people can't climb with any deck consistently, as all decks have severe hard counters which makes queueing into them soul sapping, and have very small chance of outplaying it, and then you play a counter to the archetype and climb a few ranks to hit a new counter, which again makes it pointless playing your new deck as again very small percent chance of winning, and if you do it is luck of the draw rather than skill. Given that and that climbing to legend is a grind enough as it is, this explains why people aren't bothering.
It's because of the MMR based matchmaking since July-August. You now play against the same people and decks at Bronze 10 and Legend. Meaning both good and bad players / decks are gonna reach Legend but now it takes 10 times longer. It's so stupid.
I wish they would make another expansion with a darker theme, I miss Witchwood. China being included means it will likely shift in the opposite direction.

They changed the algorithm?
I dicided a while ago that if i hit legend is when i am enjoying the game enough that i dont care to play more games than usual, but actually i am playing for the quests, the meta is a bit boring, this year is the worst year in terms of new gameplay, the only cool mechanic was starships and we barely see them...
maybe they will think of ethereal oracle has a staple for play being just a good draw minion with upsides and to make decks use spells that are cheap has some classes i see use "worse" spells just to combo early with it or they nerf it like 2/2 for 3 has i hope it becomes kinda like a modern azure drake from long ago where you can justify it with minimal damage spells and makes those spells a bit more wanted
id like to see the numbers on diamond players vs legends. im sure theres many more who easily reach diamond but cant hit legend, or just dont want to for only 1 more pack

For me it was at least every month important enough to reach Dia5, cause easier cause of winstreak bonus and the safe epic was a gain, but even this i dont do anymore since december, was never this exhausted and burnout by HS before

I am not the first to say this, but there needs to be more incentive to reach legend. You hit diamond 5 and you get a decent boosted reward. You hit legend you get one pack. Also if you hit legend in both standard and wild, you still only get one pack. This is something that needs to be changed... Zeddy what are your thoughts on the ladder grind?

Of the whole year december was the only month I didn’t hit legend. I just HATE all the decks REQUIRED to hit legend. I’m tired of handbuff paladin, zarimi priest, and all these. If things don’t change, I won’t care again to play competitively

They nerf Lamplighter of course because it was not a card from the newest expansion and they don't care about blatantly favoring profits anymore or to even bother trying to hide it, here's new expansion fire spells instead. Oh asteroid shaman can full clear the board with a replayable spell three times with their spell damage so no point even trying to tank the damage with minions so I'll lose on turn 8 or something already. Oh paladin has an entire hand buffed with 7/7 stats and use cards that are just charge in a different roundabout way. Oh hunter otk is back and they can just summon Entree's to hit the excess damage to face. How very fun and interactive.
i left standard for battlegrounds and arena this patch.... they ruined standard for me. its stupid i die on turn 6 or 7 when i have 50 hp and 20 armor! im sick of otks
I got to diamond 1, homebrew deck. It was the most boring climb I've had in HS history. I'm currently not playing it until the mini set, so incredibly boring. They need to add some more fun cards to standard like Harrison Jones, or the kech that steals opponents weapon, that legendary that makes opponant spells cost 5 next turn ect... just add some variety and classic cards... God I hope there's some new hero cards this mini expansion
People shouldn't be surprised to see this game cater hard to the Chinese. They are now the cash cow that keeps this game alive! This year we might see exclusives that trickle down to us, like exclusive skins. All I ask to Blizzard is let us have Chinas stuff too.

Only people who care to hit legend are streamers or thoughts trying to play in the tournaments and need the points rank 1-10 give. Otherwise most of us are happy wit diamond 10 or 5 each season. Once that is hit, it’s all about doing quest and nothing else with ranked. The rewards suck and even getting legend is fun the first 1-2 times and then it’s stupid. Why deal with such a major grind for nothing.
They really need to keep their other games out of hearthstone. If they add starcraft then theyre gonna add overwatch and then ill never touch the game again.

If you want to get to legend, just build a deck to counter paladin and shaman. Sounds easy, but man is it so boring. The meta currently is stale and super predictable
I don't like to think so, but you might be right in a way at least. Expansions don't have lore anymore, minisets are kinda just slapped on as a result, just look at Paradise, miniset is I dunno travel agency I guess lol. So yeah, I could see part of the reason for the Starcraft miniset being that they didn't have a better idea for continuing The Great Dark Beyond besides other space stuff I guess lol. Still, Starcraft cameos in Hearthstone is something people have been asking for for years, and I hope there's a good bit of soul put into it, but we'll see.

God I hope there's some new hero cards this mini expansion
People shouldn't be surprised to see this game cater hard to the Chinese. They are now the cash cow that keeps this game alive! This year we might see exclusives that trickle down to us, like exclusive skins. All I ask to Blizzard is let us have Chinas stuff too.

I don't care I'm playing twist and it's so much better than current ranked. Hearthstone was more fun before you could have two 7/7's on turn 3.
how much do you guys wanna bet that theyre going to try something like "this is a deluxe miniset with like 15 more cards than a normal miniset" and then charge 4k gold instead of 2k gold and then all future minisets are going to be like that and there will be more pack fillers in all these future minisets haha
Only people who care to hit legend are streamers or thoughts trying to play in the tournaments and need the points rank 1-10 give.
Otherwise most of us are happy wit diamond 10 or 5 each season. Once that is hit, it’s all about doing quest and nothing else with ranked. The rewards suck and even getting legend is fun the first 1-2 times and then it’s stupid. Why deal with such a major grind for nothing.

They really need to keep their other games out of hearthstone. If they add starcraft then theyre gonna add overwatch and then ill never touch the game again.

If you want to get to legend, just build a deck to counter paladin and shaman. Sounds easy, but man is it so boring. The meta currently is stale and super predictable

I don't like to think so, but you might be right in a way at least. Expansions don't have lore anymore, minisets are kinda just slapped on as a result, just look at Paradise, miniset is I dunno travel agency I guess lol. So yeah, I could see part of the reason for the Starcraft miniset being that they didn't have a better idea for continuing The Great Dark Beyond besides other space stuff I guess lol.
Still, Starcraft cameos in Hearthstone is something people have been asking for for years, and I hope there's a good bit of soul put into it, but we'll see.

Drop in legend players in the 2nd month of an expansion is normal. Once again Zeddy is just leaching off any kind of misery and negativity he finds. Does this guy like HS or is he just trying to destroy it?
Last month was the lowest recorded Legend players count in over 9 months. Zeddy does not have the power to destroy Hearthstone.

He's clearly out of video ideas lately. Dry spells like this have happened before, usually around these nothing-new periods. I try not to hold it against him. He could put in a bit more effort though, maybe do some fun content like Rarran, help make the Twist that doesn't exist.
@@francisedwards8786 Although cyclical fluctuations are expected, December usually sees an increase in Legend player count (according to the sources I've used). 2024 has had many unforgivable design decisions from whoever calls the shots. It's hard not to complain when looking at the game's direction. I can explain further if needed.
