- The original Shin Megami Tensei was an extremely unique but very rough game that was difficult to recommend. The sequel SMT 2 complements the storytelling, themes and strong world building of its predecessor while also refining the major problems in the gameplay leading to a much superior sequel in practically every way, making it highly recommended to the dedicated series' fans.

I wished the ps1 version of smt2 gets translated
And its more unlikely that atlust will remake smt 1 and 2 but if they do i hope they remain faithful to the dungeon crawler style while modernizing it just like strange journey

13:25 Honestly, my least favourite of the pillars is the Mercury Pillar. Literally every other pillar has a hint to where it is, but there are actually 0 hints towards where the Mercury Pillar even is. Even the Moon Pillar's ridiculous 10 magic requirement is hinted at in the Holytown Disco during non-Full Moons since an NPC says she's using her "9-Magic super flip" or something like that. The Mercury Pillar has actually no hints and I had to use a guide to find it.
Please help, wtf does INT do exactly? Is it any use on MC? MAG?
Pretty sure int helps the MC negotiate demons

@@henry2823 Magic does raise the MC’s Magic defense. Which, depending on your play style, will be either extremely useful to dump a few stat points in there, or just ignore it completely.

Thats true, but it has since been delisted and for all intents and purposes it wasnt a very good port. It actually uses backgrounds and music from the ps1 version, so its like a strange amalgamation of the SNES orignal and the ps1 remake

Oof the ancient D&D cliché that lawful=good and chaotic=evil.
It's more like lawful=authoritarism and chaotic=Social Darwinism. If anything neutral=good but it also means everyone is out to get you and you have no one to help you (except for the fairies).
D&D explicitly _separates_ law and chaos from good and evil. You can be chaotic good or lawful evil in D&D my dude

These games were great man. Yes they have sloggish parts as do all rpgs of the time but these game are the pinnacle of amazing games. We need remakes for these games getting the SMT V or at least SMT Strange Journey redux treatment.
