I pray your message is heard. Our world appears lost to the wicked, egomaniacal seduction of social media. Phil and I miss you and pray you are well. We are good! Doing the best we can in Mount Juliet and receiving all of life’s joy in every moment.
Peace be with you and Merry Christmas dear friend. ❤️🙏🏻🎄🙂

Dude, as a musician turning 32 tomorrow that's been dreaming and hustling and comparing since I was barely a teenager; often demoralised, constantly awaiting and expecting gratification, striving for perfection and too often been close to quitting... I really needed to hear this. Thanks for being so honest about your craft and the life you're leading, it's so goddamn helpful to hear something that real.

One of the most sincere, and enlightening presentations I’ve seen yet on this channel. He had the courage to put himself out there like an open book, so others can learn from his mistakes, and lead happier, fulfilling lives. Harry is known primarily for his percussion and incredible musicianship, sure, but in the end his greatest contributions to other humans will be moments like this when the drums are silent.

I think about these issues a lot when it comes to my kids. There is this pressure that every activity or hobby they get into has to lead to competition, to judgement from others as to whether they are excelling or not. I try very hard to emphasize that you should do things for the innate enjoyment they bring, not the drive to be better than others or to be famous for it or whatever. The older I get the less I find any interest in competition or accolades. As Harry eloquently says, it is all neverending, and not worth the cycle of stress and emptiness.

Been playing drums since 1990 and I always felt the same way. Had friends that were on another level compared to my 4 on the floor. As I got older the same came to me. I still play and the band sounds great. Not because of my ability or lack of, it’s related to my mindset of having fun. Looking back I wish I could have had the same mindset. Some of the best drummers here in Nashville are the most humble people. The ones that can’t check their ego at the door are good, not great.

Not a big fan of Ted, I don't even know who he is, but I'm glad that such people as Dude, Adam Neely and other worthy guys get exposure through it as well deliver wonderful presentations :)

I'm so happy this speech didn't have an audience. it adds an awkward "The Office" comedic effect that works so well with Miree's sense of humor. Dude.
