I think in raw power its strongest. But the power is more single target, compared to Yamamotos bankai (which I think is the second strongest in power) which is this absolute area destruction ability.

Kenpachi is OP done right, from the eyepatch, bells, using one hand, to his bankai. Definitely a character who inspired me throughout my own writing and comic story.
I'd say meruem and pain are better written and compelling OP characters

I think his Bankai breaking him makes a lot of sense, because I remember Ichigo's bones creaking and almost breaking from using his Bankai against Byakuya, and that wasn't even his first activation.

@@yunan9610No it wasn't a real bankai. That form you had seen was just a manifestation of zangestu and was not his real bankai or shikai. If you read the 1000 year blood war arc you would know you need an Asauchi for your zanpakto. Technically it was never really Ichigos true bankai or shikai until he got an asauchi and then he gained his true bankai and shikai forms.

That's the case with everyone and anyone in Bleach. We don't know anyone's true power or actual qualities at all. So many cool characters with no depth. :/

Characters that have their characterization already established and set in stone are the ones that have limited depth, limited to what has already been established.

Kenpachi was a monster in human form. Gremmy tried to copy his power and was ripped apart because of it. Thats why Yachiru exists, shes his zanpakto sheding off just enough power so that Kenny doesnt rip himself apart until he goes bankai and sheds his flesh to become the demon for as long as his body can maintain itself

@@Wilsontripplets I’m not to sure as that could be because Tensa Zangetsu wasn’t a real Zanpakto and was just a blade created by Zangetsu at that point of the story; and it was more Ichigo’s spiritual pressure was being used to enhance his body; and his body hadn’t gotten used to the enhancement.
The thing is, his reiatsu isn't high enough to even handle his part of his bankai's full power

@@Nazoto under a similar context I can imagine yamaji prob had to train for a very long time to gain the proper grasp over his bankai. I feel like most elemental types are that way because it’s manifesting and manipulating something that doesn’t operate under the rules of purely spiritual pressure. Elemental types are absolutely insane but they’re as much of a detriment to their own wielders as they are to their opponents. In fact they’re probably more detrimental to the wielders than they ever would to opponents because they’re constantly standing within the epicenter of its effects

Let's be perfectly honest. Had his opponent not been Gerard, but someone who could actually...DIE. Kenpachi would've won in an instant.

@@varimatra2088 Against Barragan yes, without question. Barragan is dangerous, but slow, and Kenpachi wouldn't have given him time to release his Resurrección, and even if he did, Kenpachi's bankai makes him ridiculously fast, so he could cut him in half before he could activate his respira.
As for Askin, he's different, bc in a certain sense he can't actually die unless you kill him on the very first try. If Kenpachi misses his attack then no, he could not, but if he just cuts him in half right away then I see no way in which Askin comes out alive
Same goes for Toshiro's super Hax Bankai
@@CGKey Thing is, if Kenpachi has insane levels of reiatsu in bankai(he always been shown to have crazy reiatsu even when sealed completely).. it can negate stuff.
The arm that was ripped off by Ken's teeth was made stronger once before so it's a much more impressive feat

Man these videos have filled such a void in my life for quality bleach videos. Ever since tekking gave it up the bleach content has been lackluster and tommo came in and saved the fkin day hahaha

Isn't that the lesson ichigo is supposed to deliver? Hence ichigo's bankai aka white representing his inner instincts keeping him alive every time he's about to loose? Hence why ichigo didn't learned his real bankai in soul society arc up to fake karakura arc BECAUSE he ignored his Zanpaktou? Hence Zangetsu denying him to teach mugetsu because his bankai isn't about blantly protecting others for the sake of everything?

@@asmylia9880 yes, Ichigo's would bevalot similar but slightly different . Do you remember when Ichigo was training to control WHITE he was faced with Kenpachi ? It might be bcuz Ichigo was supposed to learn from every major opponent he faced.

Ripping and arm off vs cutting an arm off with a sword are two complete different feats. The force needed to rip an arm off is way more then whats needed with a sharp instrument. Let alone with ur neck. I think kubo did this on purpose to show off just how much more powerful kenpachi got in bankai

That's absolutely true yeah, I worded it slightly wrong - what I mean is, Gerard is in base form throughout all of this but base form Kenpachi takes off his arm easily with a sword swing, while Bankai Kenpachi does the same thing but just with his teeth. So while yeah it's very impressive, base Kenpachi manages a similar feat also with ease.
I liked this bankai. Just raw strength. No fancy 15million degree or absolute zero armor. He just cut you.

It would be nice if they extended the fight in the anime so that this bankai gets more screen time. I love the design so much, such a pity it lasted for a couple of panels only.
yeah kubo had to rush a lot of fights to get to yhwach,he probably had a different idea to end gerard aswell...i hope kubo adds everything he wanted to add in the manga,TYBW was insane even with rushed parts the arc is still comparable to arrancar saga,if kubo adds everything like the stuff they mentioned in CFYOW oh man...

Kenpachi Base: Strength scales to his opponent, able to cut them.
Kenpachi Shikai: Strength eclipses his opponent, able to cut even concepts.
Kenpachi Bankai: Strength is higher than anything else, able to even cut the manga short.

I remember that Ichigo broke all his bones and got his body almost crushed by the reiatsu(spiritual pressure) of his bankai, and because of this technically lost the fight against Byakuya. Ichigos body was not used to Tensa Zangetsu at that moment.
First TH-camr who knows his thing. Most people underrate kenpachi after that bankai but it was his power that destoryed himself, and Yachiru mentioned that she just released a part of it, so basically even at the first stage and not even it's actual power, Kenpachi's bankai is probably the strongest one so far and it can even get stronger and evolve
Not really the strongest, tensa zangetsu will still be stronger as that is confirmed by yhwach that it is the strongest power of all
Why are Kenpachi fanboys like this? He's strong but he's nowhere near conceptual/reality warping level like Ichibei, Yamamoto or Urahara's. And he doesn't have a high feat like Aizen bending dimensions and bringing down the soul palace while sealed.
Who really knows... bleach is, on a basic level, about sword fighting, and kenpachi represents that aspect perfectly. But in a world of hacked op abilities over hacked op abilities I wouldn't put it past zaraki to be able to either negate or somehow contend with the worst with nothing but his raw power/swordsmanship.

@@chusay7006 Aizen brought down the soul king's palace with his reiatsu while sealed, stalemated Yhwach and annihilated soul king's reiatsu with Kurohitsugi. Kenpachi jobbed to Gerard and Pernida.
My idea to make Kenpachi's Bankai more interesting: make it his killing intent come to life. Like how Ichigo thought Kenpachi cut him without touching him back in Soul Society, but for real. Anyone who gets near him is harassed by an invisible Nozarashi (you can block it, but good luck blocking an invisible sword). Only people who could give him a fight can make it to him, so he doesn't have to hold back like he used to. Once someone closes in, he fights with his real sword and the invisible one, and can "overlay" the invisible sword on top of the real one to double his cutting power.
The weakness is the invisible sword's on autopilot, it hurts his allies too, and if someone new comes in their radius while he's fighting up close, it'll take a break to cut them.
This is an interesting idea because the description of Yachiru’s (fake) Shikai power was she gets 2 spirits that mimic her attacks so that she essentially never misses her target
That doesn't embody kenpachi tho since he likes to kill his opponents himself no matter how strong they are. He basically calls anyone with non melee abilities bitches throughout the series
@@strykervalkyrion He always gets bored/disappointed with weaklings though. This way they can't get to him.
@@qoyote it doesn't really make sense since kenpachi already likes to test the waters with everyone he fights and tries to draw out fights as long as possible. If he goes bankai then that would mean his opponent is already strong enough to withstand his shikai and him without an eyepatch and be able to move within his enormous reiatsu.
His bankai is basically the opposite of the 8th kenpachi's bankai which was always on because his actual body was weak and had an AoE effect. Zaraki is strong enough that he doesn't need to have bankai on all the time because he could just release reiatsu and and force extremely weak people to submission if he wanted to.
On top of that he hates any ability that has AoE because it's not physical combat like when he fought Tosen. This is also why squad 11 features shikai and bankai that focuses on increasing cutting power like Ikkaku's shikai and bankai and why Yumichika hides his shikai's actual ability

If you haven't already, you should read the Bleach novel"Spirits Are Forever With You". Zaraki's power is delved into and is still utterly insane! His new eyepatch drains 10x more power than the last.🤦🏽♂️🤯

I think Kenpachi's bankai is a callback to the Soul Society arc when he was running around looking with Yachiru on his shoulder, directing him.
In Bankai, Kenpachi goes into a state of blind euphoria as he becomes a berserker and Yachiro directs him, guiding his rampage and controling his power output.
Also, both Renji and Ichigo use their Bankai for the first time in battle like Kenpachi and both are severely punished for it. Ichigo loses his mobility as his body is being crushed by his own spiritual pressure (like a much weaker version of what happens to Kenpachi) causing him to lose to Byakuya. Until rescued by White of course. Renji meanwhile not only loses, nearly dying against Byakuya, but also gets his Bankai broken because he can't properly control his Bankai's explosive energy output.
Tho I would argue that ichigo's first "bankai fight experience" was against Urahara during the training. But I still agree

Incorrect, they both used bankai before, outside battle. Renji first activated it off panel whilst training and so did Ichigo. The difference here is that Kenpachi simultaneously used his Bankai for the first time AND in battle.
@@ember-evergarden they *achieved* Bankai after training, meaning they subdued their Zanpakuto spirit and got Zabimaru and Zangetsu to tell them their full names. That doesn't mean they used Bankai yet. After all, there isn't any evidence to assume that you automatically enter Bankai when you achieve it.
So although there's no way to be sure as it was offscreen, considering the rush they were in I think it's safe to assume they first used Bankai during their respective battles

Eh, while I do think Kenpachi is one of the few people who could match EoS Ichigo and Aizen, I'd still say that they are above Kenny. Besides, Nozarashi's backfiring seems to just be it's Bankai weakness; each Bankai has its own weakness that makes it less practical than the Shikai.

You're right - I worded it wrong. While obviously taking the arm off with his teeth is more impressive, base Kenpachi also takes his arm off with ease anyway. Yeah it's sword slice versus teeth, but Kenpachi is also considerably weaker in base, which is kind of what I meant by them being comparable.

Idk about you guys, but whenever I see Zaraki Kenpachi's face, I burst out laughing. Idk why, but it makes me rather satisfied to see him cut things with a big smile of a maniac on his face.
How strong is Kenpachi's Bankai?
According to his bankai, there is nothing he cannot cut as long as he uses it properly.
I think Kenpachi is not just raw power. He is very smart too. It's only highlighted subtly everywhere.
Like when he fought Tousen and Komamura and 2 sub captains together, he dosent let anyone with him get involved in the fight. He says it in a cocky way 4 against 1 attack me together. It's because he loves the fight but also to keep the focus on him and save the others with him cause he senses they are weak. but when ikkaku and that beauty guy asks to join in the fight, he lets them in with no argument because he can judge by their power levels that they will win.
Also in Tousens Bankai he by himself realises that when he touches his sword his sense of sight and sound can be regained.
Also in the filler arc where zanpakto rebel, he enters and uses super extra amount of reishu just to show off. But he usually dosent use that much for an entrance. He sensed his ppl were in danger and shifted the focus on him and saved others.
Also he gave Byakuya the ur on my radar look just by looking at him. He sensed that he is fighting with zanbakto in just a look.
While fighting Noitora he says it's good that Noitora is afraid to get cut cause it means when he does he will die. That's logical thinking. He was analysing what other power set Noitora has with him.
I think his Bankai is the only state where he loses all sorts of logic and thinking because he dosent seem to need any at that power level

Kenpachi’s zanpakto’s ability is actually to cut through anything. To separate, or sever even concepts or rules. The reason why yachiru was able to manifest as she did is because she has the ability to separate or sever herself from the rules that govern the zanpakto. His command release is “drink” implying intake. I think Nozarashi absorbs. It eats the world. It’s how he was able to nerf himself. His power was stored inside Nozarashi then she separated herself from him. And his bankai is the release of what is stored. Basically an eraser that wipes whatever it cuts. Think about it...that’s why yachiru Unohana was unable to fully heal her chest scar. That part of her soul was absorbed into Nozarashi the first time he stabbed her. And the second time it was released and erased. That’s why she couldn’t heal and died.
No it's not. His zanpakuto is just strong. That's all it does. It's perfect because bleach battles are all about reiatsu. Stronger reiatsu > weaker reiatsu regardless if hax powers are present.
@@ember-evergarden Actually they've got a point. Zaraki himself is just brute force, but it really does seem like his shikai and bankai can just cut whatever he wants to cut. If it really has that concept severance ability, he'd be pretty close to Ichibei's power of name control, and Ichigo's power of destiny.

You should do a video about Yachirus disappearance in the last arc, that's one of the biggest Bleach mysteries.
I think Once kenpachi gained shikai his zanpakuto(yachiru) disappeared because it takes the form of his zanpakuto and the separated souls fuse together again thus removing all the limits to his power.

@@chiraghalpati3463 I don’t think that she is a Zanpakuto, remember she also has a Zanpakuto of her own, and we even know her Shikai, Sanpo Kenju. And she even was an official lieutenant of the Gotei 13. So no, for me at least, she is not a Zanpakuto.

I think what's really cool about kenpachi is that he scares ikkaku and ikkaku never runs from a fight yet he's absolutely terrified of kenpachi to the point he hid his bankai literally because he knew he'd have to fight kenpachi and he was downright terrified.
Once he learns full name and his blade extends he’s on par with captain Yom

Kubo is going to find some way to get all Shinigami to go on a crazy expedition to Hell, fighting all sorts of new and past foes, but he's going to put Urahara and Kenpachi in opposite sides of that world at all times. If Urahara ever used his Bankai to constantly stitch and strengthen Kenpachi's Bankai-fied body, it would be a killer combo and defeat any new villain.

It isn't often that a Shinigami's body is altered when they activate their Bankai. I think that the form Kenpachi takes shows that he is closer to his zanpakuto then most others.

No, I'm pretty sure there is a few days gap between Kenpachi learning Shikai and Bankai. At minimum, 1 and a half days. Still very impressive.

Ichibe hard counters literally everyone in Bleach. People forget that he knows the names and release commands of all Zanpakuto ever created. He can shut down both Aizen & Ichigo instantly. If ANYONE other than the Almighty fought him, there's not even 1% chance of victory. And he technically beat YB. By YB's own admission, he's the only one who can fight him, the same guy who saw Aizen & Ichigo as non threats.
@Daniel Lopez You are wrong. By your logic, Shūkurō Tsukishima's "Book of the End" should not have worked on Ichigo when his Bankai was broken. And no, Ichigo & Aizen do not rank over Ichibe. By YB's own admission, Ichibe stood above all Shinigami. He is second only to the Soul King. The Zero Division didn't interfere with Aizen since he was not considered a threat to the SK. Aizen & Ichigo are extremely powerful no doubt, but not on Ichibe's level.

Yes kubo foreshadowed that a bankai needed your body to be strong enough . Ichigo . Kenpachi. And i bet that s why hitsugaya s bankai makes him grow up , as a kid he could not bear this power

I would say central 46 and yamamoto were worried about teaching Zaraki his sword name not because of fully fearing his strength, but due to the unpredictable nature of zaraki. Zaraki kind of acts on impulse, often with little regard for those around him. I think soul society higher ups are smart to not want Kenpachi to get to a state where he is at max power with no real way to have a hold on what he does and doesn't do. I think yama would still destroy max level kenpachi though because yama is honestly too OP. If kenpachi sticks to the kido-less attacks, I doubt he'd be able to get close enough to Yama to deal a finishing blow, and even if he did, it would not be without severe repercussions. Although, if Kenpachi can truly cut time and space, then that does change things.... and Kenpachi is now too OP even for Yama.

Kenpachi would have sliced gerard again but kenpachi was using a little too much of the small amount of power nozarashi gave him and thus his body tore apart.
Now we by the introduction of reii and hell arc we can see the full strength of kenpachi

In therms of physhical power and cutting through his opponents with blade, i think that Kenpachis unnamed Bankai should be no.1. But strongest Bankai? No way anything can match Zanka no Tachi (not counting Shirafude Ichimonji). If Yammato actually killed Yhwach, Quincy invasion would be over. I don't know if Schutzstaffel could beat Yamma at his full power?
I wish Kubo would do a sequel to Bleach so we could see what strength Kenpachi could obtain with more time. I'd like to see what his bankai could do if he had the opportunity to really hone it.

If he has so much power in the bank that Yachiru can *accidentally* release a bit too much for his body at the time... it's most likely a pretty small fraction of his full potential.
Imagine a fully in control, full powered, double handed bankai kenpachi.
Kenpachi really hit me when he faught the first time against ichigo.
Back then kinda like him I tried to do everything on my own even tho I had people around me. He was terrifying but he kinda reached a limit. Those scenes with his bankai where she was with him hoping for him to hear woke me up and I decided to get help for my depression and started trying to speak I'm still a very long away from fixing my relationships but I truly feel like kenpachi properly awakened and with so much more potential.
There's a reason the head captain didn't want him training to learn his swords name... given time to train and adjust his body to its power he should be the most powerful soul reaper
I want to theorize that Kenpachi's Bankai isn't even a complete Bankai. The fact that it has no name and his sword is broke makes me believe that there's a come complete version of his Bankai that will make him even more powerful.
Now that I think about it, a similar thing happened to both Renji and Ichigo. They both lost control of their Bankai momentarily. Ichigo was nearly crushed by its spiritual pressure which made his bones creak. Kenpachi suffering the same effects is actually legit
I sorta want to see a spin off of sorts where we get Kenpachi going through basic sword training fully and being able to not fall apart during Bankai, just to see how strong he is
I enjoyed Kenpachi's bankai, but from a story-telling perspective it didn't really seem earned. I think ending his sword's arc at shikai would have been perfectly fine. Would have preferred to see Aizen's bankai.

I like consistency Kubo set up in comparing the first time Kenpachi used his Bankai and the first time Ichigo used his "Bankai" when fighting Byakuya in the SS arc. In both cases, their bodies couldn't handle the respective power and speed the transformation put out there.
