It's funny you say that Nero's song has more ENERGY and Vergil's song has more POWER, which is exactly how I'd describe those two characters in the first place!
Love devil trigger a lot, only person who needs a redeemable theme is Dante in my opinion. Never cared for subhuman, always play the dmc3 Vergil 2nd boss fight track when playing Dante in dmc5

Nero's Theme (Devil Trigger) is more energetic and much more fits young, cocky and stupidly brave Nero than any DMC4 OST. Similar story with Vergil's Theme (Bury The Light), but this one gives that mysterious, dark vibe going with perfection and power (just like Vergil). It kinda sucks that Dante's Theme (Subhuman) isn't that great or matching too much his Whacky Woo-Hoo Pizza Man style, but on the other hand DMC3 Theme (Devils Never Cry) is the company's theme, while he's the face of it... I think that's fair enough (I guess...).
It's Casey Edwards guys. What do u expect from a guy who played DMC like craze and now composing the music for it. Its amazing to the maximum!!!!

I don't know if you noticed, but the final chorus and guitar solo have the same melody as Devil Trigger. It's amazing
The intro is part of Urizen's theme too
And the bridge has the same melody as Devils Never Cry
I keep hearing a lot of people saying there are references to previous songs all over this song. Someone should do research make a compilation of them.

As cool as that is, it can't keep up with the fact that this shit's gonna be dynamic and you just know the storm will be approaching once you hit that S rank.

I think the verse with “My family crest is a demon of death” might refer to Yamato, his sword. In the game files, Sparda has three swords named after specific things. Yamato is named after a god of death, or in this case a demon. More or less the same thing. Yamato is synonymous with Vergil at this point.
Yes you are correct. He is the demon of death hence Urizen stating he’ll show you despair and death.
What about Rebellion and DSS?
Khim Edrian Del Rosario Devil Sword Sparda was named after it’s wielder since it bears his power. Rebellion was named after retaliation. This is the from the files of the game:
"'The Dark Knight Sparda split his power in three parts. One blade bore his own name; the second blade was named to embody retaliation; the final blade was named to embody a god of death.'"

Fun fact: The last 3 minutes of this song were born out of pure love for the series. Casey Edwards himself said that Vergil is a very important character to him and that he didn't know if he'd get the chance to compose for DMC again. The first 6 minutes were all that was needed, the song was complete. He could have sent it off to Capcom and they'd be satisfied. But he wanted to give a final statement to Vergil and a goodbye to the series. So if you've ever wondered why that part feels so fucking raw, it's because it is. The emotions there are 100% sincere.
This song is way, way better than Devil Trigger, and Subhuman. The both of them just sounds one way. They're not bad but, Devil Trigger sounds like a song you play while making fun of demons (general theme is playful power). Subhuman sounds like "Rip and Tear" (general theme is unstoppable power). This one, you nailed it, had power and fear in a mix, which I didn't think would sound good together, but it did. And it turned out amazing.
In my opinion Devil Trigger sounds energetic/upbeat and modern, while Bury The Light sounds powerful and melodious like a metal opera though to be honest I can see metal fans are more likely to love Bury The Light (though in my case, I love it eventhough I am not a metal fan). Devil Trigger is much more acceptable in mainstream. So what is your most favourite video game series since you said DMC is your 2nd favourite? Also you'll make a great voice actor lol.
FF was my favorite, but my feelings towards it have become complicated in the last 10 years. My favorite game as now is either FFX, CCFFVII or DMC5

No, it wasn't made by Jason C Miller, it made by the same guy Casey Edwards (as everyone below said) who created Devil Trigger, but of course the silver haird katana wielding character has to have the most Rules of Nature sounding song.

Unfortunately, it's not fit for Vergil's character. If you want something heavy, listen to Dante's theme, it's fit his character perfectly. Vergil is always been guy that calm, but somehow he had the rage for everything that happen in the past, so Bury the Light is perfect for the recap to his story so far.
