Sad end for that Subaru Outback. Amazing and challenging recovery, Dustin ! I kept thinking about how heavy the vehicle must be with all that water in it. I suppose most of it drained out while it was winched up the bank but I'm not sure. Hard to understand how that vehicle wound up going for a swim and why the owners didn't immediately call 911. No insurance. Oh, Dustin, I couldn't have blamed you one bit if, after seeing that vehicle being towed by the airboat, you suddenly remembered you had a doctor's appointment on the other side of town some place. LOL.
all electronics were definitely destroyed after two days of being underwater, they dragged it along the bed already damaging the bumper and fenders, Hood looked fine to me maybe a little work with a ball pean hammer to reshape it, engine was completely flooded and had knows what meaning a full engine rebuild, plus the insurance company probably writ it off as a total loss so no sense in wasting other people's time to gather the equipment to get it out without damaging it
That looked like so much fun I’m gonna buy an RC Outback and RC flatbed. Next time our creek flows after a big storm, I will reenact this recovery. Take Radio Control play time to the next level. 🤯
From my experience, when someone waits a day or two before calling for a recovery they were under the influence when they wrecked and needed time to sober up. lol. I was not too fond of water recoveries, I did towing/recoveries for years and ran rotations for two different counties and for the Highway Patrol which would call me from 4 different counties, we had 3 different yards, one on 3 sides of the county, It's what we had to do in order to be on the Highway Patrols rotation, I was on call 24/7, and enjoyed it sometimes, and hated it others.
Wowsers Dustan what a huge day/night. Oopsie no insurance. Not a great day for the owner as well. Glad you have your power back on, you must be hungry. Take care see you on the next one. 😊
Next time you doing a recovery so you have to send the boom of the truck right up in the air so that it wouldn't put to much pressure on the piston when it down
The owner of the vehicle should be held responsible for wasting tax payer dollars for their ignorance and have to pay all the deputies, divers, conservation, and 2 tow services. He should be held accountable for stupidity. Nice recovery by the way you definetly streched out some line.🇺🇸👍
Wow, you guys kind of like paid to recover the vehicle. The amount of time spent for the recovery plus all the equipment/straps/chains used and now all the cleaning after the recovery… this is one you would pass on, especially if you knew there was no insurance up front. Believe this was rotational/police requested recovery.
A friend had her 2009 sante fe repossessed, when they towed it i don't know how but the transfer case blew up, there was a hole in it that wasn't there before, they wouldn't accept responsibility for it, she made a payment and the appropriate fees and only noticed it after she picked it up and started driving, Hyundai wanted 6k to replace it but she found a Midas shop that got a used one and fixed it for half the price, i think insurance gave her something she should've just walked away from it.
Just be aware in some states putting a scanner in your car is a Class D felony unless its aporoved by the local sheriff's office for first responder use.
With no insurance means the recovery an tow bill won't get paid ,the car isn't worth nothing but scrap, so the whole job is a write off an that happens doing pd calls unless forestry called an they pick up the bill but I doubt that.
personally I dont like the 1 wheel lift and winch cable boom together. with the wheelift separated you can put the lift against the ground and lift the boom up to help the car get up river banks.
Yeah really, a perfectly good car got the front end all tore up. Not like being submerged for who knows how long is going to do anything as long as it’s in fresh water, right.
Agreed. Front looked perfectly fine and then at the end its all torn up. Quite a lot of value in those parts on the secondary market that was destroyed during the recovery. Front bumpers, headlights, hood and fenders are especially sought after at parts yards/facilities. Probably a few thousand dollars in loss there just from the recovery damage. That's all i'm examining in the video and not talking about the rest of the vehicle's parts or condition.
No the owner totally destroyed the vehicle by driving it into the creek do you expect a crane to come gently lift it out of the creek. Look how far it had to be dragged just to get it to the bridge. Divers are supplied by the county in which the car is in not by the tow company..
Silly question but are there citations given for polluting the waterway, leaving the scene of an accident, or not reporting an accident? I’m probably too hopeful that they’ll get some penalty after your company isn’t going to get paid except the junk price of a totaled vehicle. Which is no where near the cost of what it cost for hours of work on you and Donnie’s part, the divers, fire department’s and police’s time and resources. Maybe people should have to have more than liability. Not for their vehicle but for things like recovery.
Those winches sound like they are maxed out! For the guy below, they may have crushed the front fenders but that is a totaled car. I’m sure you have 20 or more year’s experience with a tow truck, NOT so keep your armchair, keyboard warrior thoughts to yourself, that’s a better look.
You tore apart the front of the car for no reason. If you had all the proper equipment and/or knowledge, that wouldn't have been 'necessary." A spreader bar or blocks that attach on the sides of your wheel lift (You have some type of hole there already) would have prevented that. This job made you look a little amateur. Anyone can buy a shiny new rig , but it's the people who set up/acquire the equipment and attachments that will do the job best are the professionals.
This has got to be the dumbest comment I have seen on TH-cam!!!! What was there to save!!! The car was underwater for two days!!! It was totaled!!! This poor guy is probably going to get stiffed for the recovery as the owner said he had no insurance and most probably is a dead beat!!!
Dustin, you are quite a leader and trainer. You and Donny have done a great recovery! Thank you for sharing! 😊
Nice car ruined for nothing he was probably drunk and or high and didn't want to get into trouble with the police just saying

I often feel like an idiot. Videos like this really help my self esteem lol.
It’s no longer a Subaru, it’s a scuba-roo 😂
The driver said"Oh, it's Subaru! I thought it was Submarine..."
The only reason they would not call the cops, is because they were probably hammered on something.
That looked like so much fun I’m gonna buy an RC Outback and RC flatbed. Next time our creek flows after a big storm, I will reenact this recovery. Take Radio Control play time to the next level. 🤯
Dustin, what a winch out, allot of work for that one, and then no insurance, bummer. Good job, enjoyed watching, thanks Don.
I was excited about part two and here it is. Great teamwork and communication !
Thank You!
"Previously on Towtruck Dustin." I think you've got a potential TV show here, like "Cops," or maybe an internet soap opera.
That was a tough one. You guys worked together well to get it out!! Great job you guys!! 👍😊
Great job, very glad nobody was injured
Off to the scrap yard with that mess.
Great Job! Love how you explain what you are doing, step by step. Long live TEXAS
Great pull, Fellow Texan Approves, + new sub. Unfort for ones like these that gives the true definition of 'Dirty Job..

I was in a bad mood when i woke up this morning but after watching Subaru in the water was laughing so hard i almost wet em 😂😂
Good thing there was someone to bale out Towtruck Dustin or that SUV would never come out of the water.
Would LOVE to see a video of you washing off the truck bed after a messy one like this. It would be super satisfying!
Wow another vehicle in the river fully sumurged I wonder how it keeps happening I think I know the Answer to that
how did the car end up in that river?
Do you know how it got it in the water
Dustin
THAT WAS GREAT REALLY ENJOYED VIDEO
Good job brother 👍
That Outback had been in the outback!
I doubt he's gonna pay your company a dime without a lawsuit.
That was a good one to get out of the water
Subaru Outback, such a nice vehicle. How did it end up in water?
I hope you got well paid for that very tricky job .
Still can’t believe they said they didn’t know who to call

Where do you buy the "guardian angel" light you use in videos? I would like to buy one
He has the link in current videos
As previously said, my affiliate link is in the description of all my videos! A discount code s well!
Would of been better if you put snatch blocks on the wheel straps it doubles your pulling power and won’t risk snapping a winch line
A great job and a good video
Great job
That should have been a nice pay day in east tx 2 trk 150 each and 300 for pull out plus 3 dollars per foot for cable and rigging
No I surance on the car means no payment
I wonder if there's any scrap value in that condition.
Yall did great. How long were yall on scene for?
Good one.
That must have been new cables and straps
GOOD MORNING!

Of course, they could have just been taking it home. :)
I wonder if it will start.. with a jump :)

awesome video
I hate doing recoveries with other operators.
What scanner are you using?
Unication G4

Can you get paid by taking the car owner to small claims court?
Good Afternoon @cannalrodadventures5079. How are you feeling in the Afternoon. What are you eating for lunch in the Afternoon?
You really need a rotator
Got $1,000,000 I can borrow?

Not necessarily. In this case, you can take them to court for the charges.
This is where you tube comes in....
Some situations liability will pay for towing. Example if it’s a public hazard.
How could you not know who to report it to? They must was tired of making that payment lol
I guess you missed the part about them not having full coverage insurance, which won’t cover the loss.
Who then pays the bill? @@Towtruck_Dustin
@@seanday7668the owner 😮 Campbell towing has stated in a comment they have paid half already. I hope they give Dustin a big deserved tip!
How often do y'all get a call on one of these calls
Still give you guys lots of Praise for what you do.
so he just drove the car in the water and said screw it I guess
So the owner doesn't even have to pay for the towing and recovery charges for sinking his car in the first place?!?

WAY TOO SMALL WRECKER TO PULL WATER LOGGED JUNK OUT IN THESE CONDITIONS-VERY HARD ON THAT LITTLE UNIT
Wrong. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Subaru’s always Liked to Float on their Backs so this Subaru was NO different. Try explaining this one to the Insurance Company. 🤪👎
Well you totally destroyed the front end.
I’d never want recovery from you that was just more destructive.
Yeah really, a perfectly good car got the front end all tore up. Not like being submerged for who knows how long is going to do anything as long as it’s in fresh water, right.

Hmmm how did the owner know they were doing this?
They likely got the license plate number while they were diving.
