I went through this as a kid .. it’s not spoiled it’s the mom using the child as a means of income rather than working & supporting the family they laid down & made . My mother never worked & always said I felt entitled to child support.. it’s manipulative &’dismissive

I have two children. At the age of 5 years old, and the other at the age of 1 year old. Me and the mother separated. I took the children with me. An agreement between us. Months later, she tried taking me to court for child support. Even though I had custody of the children. Lucky I had a good lawyer. I end up with full custody. She has visitation. I asked for NO child support from her.
15 years later. She's a drug user and currently in jail again. The children have been successful in life. I'm 99.9% involved in their lives.
Thank God I have done a good job so far.

My son 8 fam he came to me asking me for money which I willingly give to him anyway. I have 50-50 custody and still pay 1000 a month. I told him look son I have to pay my own everything right? I don’t get help from anybody. I told him you get 1000 dollars a month from me I showed him my check. I said every 2 weeks you get 500. Ask your mother for whatever you need. She doesn’t necessarily sound like a spoiled child. From experience, my mom had 4 kids 2 fathers and my dad was the only one who paid child support. In addition to her income(9-5 job), child support was used to support the house and all 4 of us. When asking for necessities or school related things I would go without. I would be forced to ask my dad. He would come through for me but it then became excessive to the point he asked “Did your mom get the child support payment?”
Now I never asked my mom what this young girl did but I for sure thought it. lol I wasn’t stupid I saw what was going on. I saw my mom’s situations but ….

I had this same thing happen. I wasn't scared about asking my mom about the money lol. When I got about 15 my mom gave me the money but she made me pay a bill. I didn't sweat it because it was enough for paying the electric bill plus enough for some cash in my pocket.

Let’s not forget… BOTH parents should be contributing HALF to the child. Dad should not be paying 100% of everything the child needs. So the 1900 the father is paying should be enough to cover half of the child’s expenses AND funds left over for the expenses that are not considered a necessity. The money the father pays is for HIS child. Her poor decisions should not cause her daughter to go without. She didn’t make the poor choice… her mom did. 🤷🏽♀️

i pay 750 and i get my daughter every weekend and entire summer, she needs things when she with me but it is what is, im good, but i dont mind helping bm cause i make way more than her and that 750 i dont miss it. Im debt free have 4 cars own my home and married with no kids at home(other than weekends and summer).

Prime example how a lot of these women use their children as a stipend to fund their life. 1900 for one child is more than enough. I pay 1000 on top of just doing stuff for my son on my own and I have 50-50 custody. A lot of these women are poor excuses for mothers yet nobody wants to have that conversation. Him and his daughter are being used by the mother to compensate for the lack of compensation she gets for the other children which isn’t their fault or business. The daughter has to suffer for the mothers poor decisions. She’ll be championed as a great mother though by society despite exploiting her own child.
They keep talking about $1900 as if that's 100% of what the child is entitled to. If the mother is not contributing $1900 as her half, then she should lose her driver's license and be jailed just as the father would be.
Just to add to this point, the combined income of the mother and father is counted. Also, the noncustodiel parent should not be forced to pay more than 1/3 of their gross income. There are other factors added into the calculation for the other children. Without knowing the formula, I estimate the combined income is $136,800+.

I do not agree with you. When you lose your license, that does not mean use your kids child support to fix something that is not his/her fault. Coming from a father who pays child support, my son's mom does not put his money to help him. His mom divide his mom on everything except him. My fiancee and I are the ones who provide clothes, food, transportation, entertainment, parenting, mostly by me. As an adult, male and female should be held to the same standard on parenting. If the father pays child support, even if the mom is the custodial parent, she must pay child child support too. What ever happened to having equal treatment under the law???

Almost anywhere in the US with reasonable living accommodations that amount greatly helps with shelter costs. @Amanda I tried to work it out with my ex-wife to pay her a certain amount for my kids, and because she wanted more, she put me on child support. My stand is that if you want to put me on child support and I'm forced to pay the amount. I'm going to pay that amount that's being enforced, nothing more because some dads not on child support exactly spend more money on his kids. Sometimes like in my instance, I've paid for things already as a mother of my home to have things out the way, whether it's bills, clothes, shoes, activities, etc. Now the child support comes and I move accordingly, how I please because I just got PART of my money back. That's why it looks like momma is getting her hair and nails done or whatever... Now when the CS doesn't come, at least she's already paid everything and will have to wait until her next paycheck. This is most women's life with CS. If she has her children living in a nice neighborhood it costs. If she had them living in high crime where she saved money, they'd be wanting to move. Living costs money!!
But you’re only supposed to get PART of the money back. Both parents support the child.

He’s 100 percent right groceries should only be 200-300 for a 16 year old monthly, if the parent don’t know how to budget that’s their fault, there’s a reason why grandma and mama had coupons, it seems to me the mother is living above her means and her child is insurance. We started getting CS when i was 15 and bro was 11. I was given the card. I split it evenly between 2 and we gave a portion to ma for bills. It paid for our trips and snacks. When she got a man we still gave "rent" but started completly shopping and cookin for ourselves. We made 300 a piece work for us for the entire month til next check. We had to learn to budget or skip minor activities for dances or bigger trips. Parenting had been over for a long time.

Stop the Bs!!! So I got 2 kids by 1 woman. They are 1 year apart. I was giving my bm $300 a week plus giving my kids $50 to $75 each every week so the didn't necessarily have to ask her for spending money. I also bought all shoes and paid for extra activities like sports etc... But when they did ask her for money or something she would tell them to go ask me. How in the hell I do all that and you tell my kids to go ask me for shit. I found out she was using my money for nails, trips and buying shit for other men. Got evidence!!! When I changed how I gave the money she flipped out and also started struggling. I realized that without me that house would barely make it. My kids didn't even know I was giving their mom money. They thought I was a dead beat in a sense.

Why? because that’s when they see you and respect you as an adult?! I’d say the same things, if they’re not gone. Just because people are young, doesn’t make them blind to right from wrong. Do what you’re supposed to when kids are kids and the feedback you get will reflect that. Some kids are real life disrespectful but some parents just aren’t parents.

There were certain things I feel like I should’ve been taught growing up but I was raised to be a princess and when I got to college I struggled. After a conversation with my mom everything made sense. Also I was in honors classes since I was six and did not get into trouble.*
