Recording of the entire journey from Hakkoda Ropeway Sancho Station to Fukasawa Onsen.
After two consecutive days of suspension of the ropeway due to strong winds, Mt. Hakkoda is finally blessed with perfect weather. Although there was less snow than usual, the scenery was spectacular.Japan was said to have little snow in the winter of 2024, but the Hakkoda Mountains were different. Great powder was waiting here. On February 10, 2024, I took advantage of a few sunny days and aimed for the summit of Mt. Otake, Hakkoda.
【How to get there?】
By plane, you can reach Aomori Airport in about a few hours from Tokyo Haneda Airport or Osaka Itami Airport. From Aomori Airport, you can reach Hakkoda Ropeway Ski Resort in less than an hour by taxi or rental car. The taxi fare will be around 8,000 yen (50 USD).
If you take the Shinkansen (Japan's high-speed railway) from Tokyo, it takes about 3 hours to get to Shin-Aomori Station. From there, it takes about 1 hour to reach Hakkoda Ropeway Ski Resort by bus or taxi.

【When is the best backcountry ski season in Hakkoda?】
If you're looking for powder snow, the best time to go is from mid-January to early March. In spring after April, the weather is stable and you can enjoy long tours that extend not only to the northern Hakkoda area but also to the snowy southern Hakkoda area.

八甲田ロープウェイ山頂駅から深沢温泉までの全行程の収録。
二日連続の強風によるロープウェー運休の後、ようやく最高の天候に恵まれた八甲田山。例年より積雪は少ないものの、最高の景色を味わえた。
