Thanks for sharing this part via TH-cam. This mc4 came with my Bullbat 250 watts power station. I was looking at various types of solar panels and saw they have different connection setups. I learned more about my mc4 connector from you. I am new to power stations and solar panels. There was no online information to connect solar panels to my Bullbat 250 watts. Do I have to buy a crimp tool to connect my mc4 connector to a solar panel? I am under the impression to connect it via the dc end and the other mc4 to the solar panels’ cables. I mainly purchased the Bullbat 250 watts power station to charge power banks and hook up my internet router whenever power outages occur. I connected my portable washer/spinner days ago and used 52% of the power station. My main concern after watching your video is would the mc4 connector has to be crimped to the solar panel cable/connector? Also what specifications should I know to buy solar panels for my Bullbat 250 watts power station? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your time and attention. Smiles

Remember: The plus voltage of the solar panel comes out of the connector with the female metal plug. That's the conector with the male looking plastic part and also the conector with the locking clips. When in doubt, use a voltmeter to confirm.

I am an engineer with an off-grid electrical solar system. You are speaking at the right pace, but did you really just say "providing A ELECTRICAL connection?"
English might not be your birth language, but it is important to get your articles of speech. It is: "AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTION!"

I'm on a quest to find a GOOD MC4 disconnect tool. It seems all that are available are low quality and require multiple tries to release some connectors. Every brand of connector his slightly different dimensions and it is not possible to standardize on one brand, because you are connecting many different brands of equipment and cable. Thinking the answer might be a "metal" tool, I was dismayed to learn that those characterized as "metal" are plastic, with a mix of zinc and aluminum to impart a shiny finish, and that they may actually be dangerous. I don't care what it costs. I want a disconnect tool that works on the majority of MC4 connectors on the first try.

yes agreed. this is a huge issue. I often end up cutting and crimping fresh. For sure in the USA, we often refer to the female as stated here as a male connector for the obvious looks. I have bought all the disconnecting tools I can find and its a royal mess. MC4 and H4 are not listed to be connected together, but they work and the whole thing is ridiculous.
