It's sort of amusing how cool Spidey is with letting Frank go to town on drug dealers considering they've never been on good terms in the comics. Also, why are random drug gangs shooting up a mall?
With great power comes great responsibility. That includes letting the Punisher run loose and kill criminals, and even some random lady who just wanted to go shopping. Good one, Pete. Uncle Ben would be real proud of you.
Maybe acclaim did the box and LJN developed the game? Kind of like when Killer Instinct came out in arcades in 1994; Nintendo published it, rare made it, and Midway distributed the arcade cabinet?
I'm making a video on Spider-Man in video games and wanted to know if I'd have permission to use this footage in the video, would give credit in the description
I find amusing Spiderman teaming up with Frank just to save the civs while he guns down the criminals in the comics Spiderman normally would take care of everything and ask Frank to go away
Spiderman supporting Punisher in killing gangs in a brutal way? That's something new. Maybe I never read the old old Spiderman and Punisher, but I remember Frank was supposed to be an antagonist in his debut in Spiderman universe.
No you're right, Spider-Man has never supported the Punisher's fatal methods...now, the NEW Spider-Man (a.k.a. Otto Octavius in Peter Parker's body) probably wouldn't mind a little homicide...
***** Sorry, I don't really follow Spidey that much (and also here in Sweden, hardly get any latest Marvel comics that much or specialized comic shops like "Forbidden Planet" in UK, unless you go online and buy them). But yeah, I doubt ANY Marvel Superheroes agree with Punisher method. Last I seen Punisher, he was captured by Avengers and put into a deep sea jail made by Tony Stark.
Well, I think some Marvel characters like Wolverine and Venom also have no problem killing the 'bad guys', but most Marvel superheroes (and DC heroes) have a 'code of honor' that prevents them from killing anyone.
But doesn't Wolverine only kill other "Super villain bad guys"? (sometimes robot cyborg). I remember usually those "Brutal superheroes" like Wolverine only beat up simple street hustler. (I remember in DC comics, the old 90's Green Arrow, he shoot at human targets, but he is an anti-hero though). The other Marvel character that feed human enemies with .45 is Nick Fury then again, Fury himself is a bit controversial character for me. As personally I think he is a bigger killer than Frank Castle.
Yeah I guess Wolverine isn't quite as bloodthirsty as the Punisher, he won't usually kill petty thugs but he does often go into a 'berserker rage' and then, watch out, because he will kill anything that crosses him. Nick Fury was a soldier in World War II and then became the leader of a government organization called S.H.I.E.L.D., I don't know much else about him, I don't know if he has killed more people than Frank Castle/Punisher. He is not a 'vigilante' like the Punisher is.
Oh man I remember this game so well. I always thought spider man was the main villain of the game but it was hard though couldn’t get past the first stage.
Spidey: "Drug Lords at the Mall? Looks like my spidey-sense tells me it's a job for Punisher!" Oh Spidey... (Btw, this is almost a rip-off of T2: Arcade game for the game boy, plays the same, but then again, also made by beam software and LJN)
mate spidermans a savage!, he threw an innocent man off a building to his death, he could of just gone home and painted the fucking kitchen with uncle ben but nooooo he had to sneak off and fight randy savage for money to try and get in his neighbours pants....absolute savage mate!.
Any game that forces you to take damage and lose live with no possible way to get out of it is kind of shitty in terms of design honestly. There should always be a way to avoid damage or do better. This is coming from somebody that DID play this game as a kid. That and the horrendous port of Batman Return of The Joker, but that was by Sunsoft. To be honest I recall very few good and not aggravating Marvel and DC license games from my childhood (zero hand held ones either) because they gave most of them to shitty developers to crank out and sell based on the license alone. It's only in very recent times, like late 6th generation of games that you can start to expect license games to be anything other than total pieces of shit.
Same here, i had no idea what to do, or what the cursor represented, traded it in for Star Wars on the gameboy, that was a lot more fun however now i kinda feel sad about it, it is something truly unique.
The music track in this game was definitely was above that of the NES version, comparing it to Final Fantasy Legend and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
Had this game as a kid and kind of fucking hated it even though I tried my best to beat it. Looking at the last boss I never really would have. Nice quality game by LJN as usual where you're forced to sit there and just take damage during his close up attack with nothing you can do about it. If you don't get to that fight with at least 5 lives clearly don't even bother trying I guess.
Cause Spidey would tell Frank where to go and have NO PROBLEM with him gunning people down lol
My thought exactly.
It's sort of amusing how cool Spidey is with letting Frank go to town on drug dealers considering they've never been on good terms in the comics. Also, why are random drug gangs shooting up a mall?
since when have drug heads done anything not violent or sane
Meth hahaha
love how he casually kills that guy just loading some cargo on the docks, damn dude.
He has a gun and will end up shooting you if you don't kill him 1st. It does look like he's just a regular worker at 1st
He does shoot at you if you wait too long

There weren't any drug cartels during Uncle Ben's day. You know hell froze over when Spidey wanted Frank's help.
I found this in game shop and played it. I actually had fun. Surprised because it was an LJN game.
I had no idea there was a game like this on the original Game Boy.
The Game Boy version of The Punisher: The Ultimate Payback it has Acclaim branding on the packaging, still had the LJN logo in the splash screen.
Maybe acclaim did the box and LJN developed the game? Kind of like when Killer Instinct came out in arcades in 1994; Nintendo published it, rare made it, and Midway distributed the arcade cabinet?

Spidey had a shitty day. He needed that quality time with Mary-Jane.
Slowly shopping at gunshoot is best you can do.
Good music
Lol if you kinda think of it,it's like the enemies are protecting the innocent from The Punisher
Haha, true
Discovering this today

I don't get it, why would Spiderman tell the Punisher if he knew the Punisher would kill them since Spiderman doesn't believe in killing

r.i.p. that first lady
p nut Yeah
0:47 that ones on you spidey
Encuentro que esté juego es de lo único rescatable de LJN, en verdad me la paso bien jugando y es divertido
Where is the saxophone guy 😢?
I'm sure most people who left "LJN this gayme suxx" comments have never even played it...
LJN published a handful of good/decent games. But plenty of garbage titles.

Well that was a short game...
I just imagined a lightgun for game boy, lol.
Had this game when I was like 5 or 6. Didn't really care for, because I only bought it, thinking it was a Spiderman game.
Same here, i had no idea what to do, or what the cursor represented, traded it in for Star Wars on the gameboy, that was a lot more fun however now i kinda feel sad about it, it is something truly unique.
Thank you
LJN or not the punisher games they made are fun.Cmon you all are too hard on these games.there are a lot worse games out there.
should've made it a fairly decent side scroller
One of the fewer LJN's good games. Lol
The music track in this game was definitely was above that of the NES version, comparing it to Final Fantasy Legend and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
This doesn't look bad.

Not a bad game considering it was another one of LJN's creations.
@
hear for AVGN
Another day, another licensed dud by ljn. Consistency you can count on.
Man this looked so bad
Related to Bible ya. The wicked will be turn into the lake of fire. righteous into eternal life.
the punisher is actually in the bible too, didn't you know?
ucher
A gun game on the game boy how dumb.
Yea, where's my Nintendo Gameboy light gun? Lol
the sound effects are awful
Ugh, worse than some of the Atari 2600 games I've played, but then I saw the LJN label and cringed.
+a merk hi
It wasn't that bad.
