I use a seabass for soft plastics off the beach , you could probably use it for luderick as well .

Try a piece of rag tied to you're line they will hit it and get their teeth wrapped up in the rag......workes

I have a video how I prepare them for the plate. Very easy to clean, prepare and eat hence why it’s one of my favourite fish to consume.
