Chill out Momo! My Senior Siamese Matthew LOVED the hot weather! A true THAI soul for sure! When I brought him to Florida he slept under the coverlet on my bed to be warm, yet insulate himself from the direct sun! Momo and all meezers bring a smile to my face when their antics bring Matthew back - even for a few seconds! Hugs, Michael Albuquerque NM USA
Momo is not like that 😅 he will find any way to stay cool. Most of the time that's lying on the tiles somewhere shaded or finding a cool spot under a bush in the garden.
We got our siamese Six, partly because of Momo, such a smart handsome boy !!!! Try putting metal or granite plate in refrigerator. It may offer some relief for cats when sun peaks out. If it's some consolation, AC wasn't really holding well, we all had to keep spraying water on to keep cool during that awful scorching week.
We’re just about heading into winter here in NY. Glad to see the kittys able to go out when it’s a little cooler in the evening. Are you still load shedding where you are?
Yeah we are. But we recently had a substantial solar installation put in so we barely notice it. We just need to keep an eye on cooking times because we don't have a gas stove and the system isn't quite able to handle it.
My poor Simon (Also a Siamese) Is struggling big time with a heat wave this week! :( I keep petting him with ice packs & even feed him frozen cat broth tubes at snack time to chill him out. I worry about him alot while I'm at work (I dont have air conditioning) Are Siamese cats more suspect-able to heat stress?
I’m not sure about stress but Momo just becomes very lazy in very hot temperatures. He’ll spend most day napping and then go out in the evenings when it is cooler. Most important is that he has enough sources of water to choose from.
He's named after Liverpool striker Mo Salah. As a kitten his favorite toys were balls and he would almost dribble them all over the house. So we thought it fit very nicely.
Alice!

@@MomoSiamese Austen and Jasper like to sleep in the bathtub…I must be careful to check for them before I turn on the water!
Currently going through a heatwave and I feel kitty's pain 🥵
It's so bad 🙈 luckily we had some rain last night that cooled things off significantly
Heat wave hit hard in Brazil 2 weeks ago. Our siamese girl had no objection to a cold bath, while the black stealth cat was happy in AC.
Ah I think Momo would die if we bathed him and unfortunately we don't have AC 🙈

That's awesome to hear and that's a great idea!

Cooled down nicely in just a few hours. What is the hottest it's ever gotten to in J burg?
I think the hottest I can remember must have been around 36-38C. I don’t think we ever hit the 40 mark.

I want to know how Momo the cat got his name?
